Obama Plans 'Inspirational' Speech Sept 8 to Students
What he said isn't as important as should he have been doing it and the fact that it is illegal. He changed what he had planned to say after there was so much uproar, but of course no liberal is going to give that a second thought. Why do you keep bringing up this stupid illegal crap? He didn't had control over schools since, 99% of my school didn't show it. Does that mean most of my teachers are gonna be arrested?

If slavery was legal...
If that's true, why did we(America) have a Civil War that nearly tore the country in half? Whoa whoa whoa...white men weren't gonna kill each other for black men let me tell you that.

Obama Plans 'Inspirational' Speech Sept 8 to Students
Inspirational speech you [bleep] idiot. Christ, you conservative types really bring down your party. Ahh, the old Saul Alinsky tactic I see. Isolate your target, freeze, then attack your individual target. Were you not aware, some of the controversy surrounding Obama's speech stems from a proposed lesson plan created by the Education Department to accompany the address. An initial version of the plan recommended that students draft letters to themselves discussing "what they can do to help the president." I do not wish students to help the president in any way. I want them to help America. Also, you Ad Hominum attack on me and my political believes honestly is a well known flaw in logic. Not only is this illegal, for the president or any other Federal official to interfere with the curriculum of a school. Have you not heard the statement "love your country, but distrust your government." I prefer to follow this statement. As the president is interfering logically it would be illegal per current federal law. Whilst you may claim it is harmless, the matter still stands that this act is illegal. President Obama is very familiar with Saul Alinsky, and his "Rules for Radicals." Some quotes by Alinsky are as follows. A racially integrated community is a chronological term timed from the entrance of the first black family to the exit of the last white family. Rule 12 is "pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. :| Okay?

Capital punishment right or wrong?
Actually, justice IS revenge. Rehabilitation wouldn't be justice, it would be help. If human kind had the big enough heart to forgive and help society's criminals we wouldn't need the judicial system. It would just be a system with doctors and psychologist who would help the minds of those guilty change. But human kind isn't like that and you're never going to change it. If Bob killed my sheep, I'm not gonna discuss with him what he could do better over lamb stew, but I'm going to go over to his farm and kill his sheep. And how exactly do you ethically justify that? The way I see it, no action is categorically right or wrong, and equilibrium has no value. It's all just means to an end (which is happiness). And that whole "nothing is bad or good"/"balance"/"Can good exist without evil?" things are all a bunch of crap. In a universal view, there is no law. There are no customs. It's a giant free-for-all. That much is true, take a look at the animal kingdom for instance. But if humans behaved like that, if humans went on to a survival of the fittest, we wouldn't be in the technological age of today. We needed safety first to come up with ideas and research them. If Bob wanted to take my meat, I had to protect it and guard it constantly. Other humans would take my food too or hoard up the animals so I can't hunt any. We don't have time to stop and think about new techology or ideas. We had to keep the house safe. Which is why we need some sort of "good action" view. When actuality, it's more of a mutual action. Keep to yourself, follow the golden rule and you don't have to donate to charity or work in volunteer to be "good". This provides the most happiness to all of us, where as survival of the fittest the majority of us would be dead or living in crappy conditions.

Obama and Ramadan.
Islam is something i will always defend because it's my business, so if i have to talk about US i will. But the fact is: There is just so much hatred in US towards Islam and muslims. Unfortunately the people who see the TV and the clowns that do these things go around thinking "All muslims are terrorists". "Soon there will be muslims everywhere!!!" "Obama is muslim!!!" "Obama is respecting muslims!!!" Let's not forget the fact? Muslims are humanbeings... or are we not to US racists? I definately agree with you Hemen. Maybe I should better explain my statement? You, as a immigrant, can still keep your culture within your family and like-minded folks like in Chinatowns throughout the country. But when you're trying to pass laws and social reforms to make your culture easier, such as excused time for praying in schools or censoring things on TV. Let's not forget, the reason WHY you left your native country, and compare it to what you're having now. Sacrificing small parts of your culture (which you could still totally do it in the correct times), seems like a fair deal to me. And if you have homesickness, you could start up business which sells your culture's food or items if your numbers are big enough. Somebody has to do that here for Argentines... == And is it just me, or are Muslim one of the laid-pack kids in school?

Obama and Ramadan.
THIS is why Obama needed to do this. Too many Americans have all these [bleep] stereotypes about Muslims. The Muslims who flew into the World Trade Center in no way represent the beliefs of the majority of Muslims. Islam has turned into an evil religion in the eyes of Americans, and Obama is only trying to fix that. Yeah. I was always annoyed by the "Obama is a Muslim!" idiots during the election season. Even if he was a Muslim, what would be the problem? If he was a Muslim, he could be a member of Al Quaeda for all we know. If a Muslim terrorist or terrorist group gets a good position in the American government, it would extremely easy to plan attacks on this country. There are too many Muslims in the Middle East that want to kill Americans, because they believe that we stand for everything they don't. They hate us, they want to kill us, they call us 'infidels'. Yeah because a Christian president could be a member of the KK for all we know. I mean, they carry the cross they have to be!

Obama and Ramadan.
Americans have caused far, far, far more deaths This is a stupid argument because both Christians and Muslims have caused millions of deaths throughout history. This argument's only bandwagon debate depending wheither you're Christian or Muslim. End it. Hmh. All these acknowledgments to ANY religion is just pointless. Because while it may seem fair to the Muslims that Obama gets to say a speech to them, it may not be fair to other religions NOT to get a speech to them. But ultimately, they're being congratulated on having a belief. Woopie-doo, everybody has one of those. Oh, and a quick note on the topic of foreign culture in the US: It's not your native country so don't expect it to be just like it.

Obama and Ramadan.
I respect them. It's just that there's no need of the government congratulating folks on having a belief. Where's my Obama speech on Nickism?
-
Obama and Ramadan.
Fixed. Stop with these "Giving thanks/remembering" things. To Muslims, to Blacks, to Asians, to Latinos. It really means absolutely nothing.

The N-word, is it actually offensive?
Which is why I put all sorts of racial backgrounds when I took my SAT. White, Hispanic, native American, African American, and I think I put in Eskimo too.

two young boys beaten up. really appalling
With that logic, nothing really matters then. Unless we invited time travel, we are powerless to create consequences of the past. But that does bring a interesting point. Justice is a large paradox, while you want to servilely punish the criminal, it really won't do anything to change the crime. Our taste for justice surpasses our logic. But, what is a logical choice in punishments?

Youtube to offer movie Rentals?
Well that's because before, to buy a movie it costed like $20-25. To rent it only cost from $1-5. It really was a bargain. But as the movie studios started to make their VHS cheaper, it started to appear in stores for "buying" rather than "renting". DVDs were easily sold through every store: Walmart, grocery stores, gas stations, that renting was coming at a loss compared to selling the movie. So to avoid loosing profit, renting sometimes may get above buying price. Renting died at the start of DVDs.

I still never understood Scientology, but I think I got it down... A guy named Howard L. Whathisname made up a religion claiming we are all victims of Xenu, some ultra-galatical warlord but if you pay Howard L. Whathisname, we are guanteed salvation/happiness? Am I right?

Nah, its more like the government stops paintballing all of a sudden, takes your gun away and you gotta buy another one.

Capital punishment right or wrong?
I'm very against Capital punishment, not because it's wrong to take a human being's life, but because it takes it away too quickly. How many dollars do people in poverty in Africa live on? A dollar or two a month? That's how much we should be paying to maintain prisoners in their 6x5 foot concrete cells. Drains the life outta them very, very slowly.

Mandatory Sentences
You're making prehistoric molehills into mountains, dude. It's a fact that this country was based on Christianity when it was made, but thats cuz everybody back then was Christian. They didn't expect atheists and muslims and hindus to populate the nation at such numbers today because people usually stick to their home countries or similar-religious states back then. They saw America as a Christian nations with Catholics, Quakers, Lutherans, etc for decades in the future, because a mass wave of immigration from Turkey was unlikely. But now, with mass-transport and easy access to all over the world, time have changed. America isn't just for Christians anymore. It's for any morally-good folks who believe in a democratic freedom. The problem isn't the lack of Christianity in the public, but the lack of the "motivation" they had to insist those good morals into people. I'm not religious at all, but I am a morally-good person. I was never exposed to religious text and the only time I entered a Church for religious purposes was at a wedding. So how to you explain this? Teacher and punishment. Parents are supposed to teach good ideals into their children, and they and teachers have to regulate it. The problem of today is that these kids don't get taught these ideals, they don't get punished for wrong-doings, and they most certainly rub this attitude around to others and the media. So, please, for the love of the Lord you worship, quit with these "America was founded by Christianity" agruments. Times change, ideas are free to adjust.

Obama Plans 'Inspirational' Speech Sept 8 to Students
Yeah bro, fight the power. I find it pretty pathetic that you're going to purposely skip school, be proud of it, over a unimportant speech that won't affect anybody by Mr. Obama's speech writer's time. It's not like your current school has anything better to show you than Obama's speech. And since when did "inspire" turn into "a do-this plan"?
