The Runespan is here. Wonder if it's worth it for F2P?

Or get a job make more XP/H then you'd ever would ingame. Powerlevel your account. Go figure why you payed for: dem' Hawaii weekends and other exotic & expensive travel location's, to people who obviously do not care for the game anymore. I don't play the game seriously or consistently enough to pay a fee for it. I like the game the way it is now. Even if they never update F2P again, I won't carethat's how I came into this prospect of being pure F2P: expect nothing, demand nothing, but appreciate every new thing that unexpectedly comes your way. I was fine before Cook-X. I was fine before Resting. I was fine before the Home Tele and subsequently the lodestones. But I am grateful that they were all implemented. Furthermore, I've been P2P before on other accountsthere isn't one thing I like about it. That's just how I am. I like having less things to do and less ways to do them, especially if it's free. That means I can be a lot more flexible with how I choose to play the game.

Agreed. It's about time they updated RC, and I'm really glad they're making at least part of it F2P. Now all they need to do is fix the horrible xp rates for solo DG and we'll be all set. Amen! I can't wait to see what the RC update will consist of...anything to make the journey from 75 to 99 easier. :P

I personally don't care about the P2P-shoving; I feel like they already hit the crux by removing us from the hiscores, so I figure that most anything else they can do afterwards kind of pales in comparison as far as their douchebaggery is concerned. I myself definitely can't complain about the wheelI've won 2 rune longs, a 2h, and the 10k prize six times so far. ;)

Should've tried playing on a lvl 3 skiller even before the Lumbridge home tele. ;) Member skillers still had tele tabs, but nonmembers...well, at least all that walking made them fit. :D

If one can afford it, the Edge teleport is also useful for doing body tiara runs.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
I was about to respond to Possum39's post by saying something like "Don't be so sure, remember how long Jagex kept this up with the wildy removal. It took just over three years, but it was re-implemented in the end. It might happen with the hiscores someday," but if what Water says is true, then for the first time ever I am actually beginning to lose hope in the continued longevity of the F2P sector. Placed in the context of everything else that's happened, the removal of F2P players from the hiscores wasn't just another deprivation of F2P rights. It was an action that marked the total phasing out of the F2P aspect of Runescapeor at least, the beginning of the sealing of the portal allowing new players to pure F2Phood. The people who are currently inside that realmlike many of us on this threadcan stay that way, but no one else will be granted access to it henceforth. Our accounts, being ones that lack a single point of P2P experience, will have a sort of grandfathered and discontinued status. This is an important thing to realize and fully comprehend, because if it's all true, it means that pure F2Pers are ultimately a dying breed. Only time will tell whether they will leave us to fester and wither away in our own surroundings, or take a more direct course of action like the one envisioned by Pirkka and just do away with us all in one fell swoop.

Unfortunately the only thing I would even want to spend money on (besides buying 99 crafting and rc, which really aren't huge expenses) is a purple phat, because it goes well with my outfit. ;) I have no other use for money besides that stuff. But considering the phat costs more than twice the amount I'd need even if I did sell the bones, I just don't think that's gonna happen. I'll probably just bury them eventually.

I made mass profit on this out of sheer dumb luck. I bought all the big bones I needed for 99 prayer (about 864k of them) a few months ago for just 309 each. I still have all of them. Imagine how happy I am now :D (sorry to be cheeky, but this is the first "really good" thing that's happened to me in my 7 years of playing RS)

No, their removal of F2P from the light hiscores was intentional as well. Well before November 22, W13the founder of Zybezasked Jagex through private correspondence whether F2P data would remain available on the light hiscores following their planned hiscores tweak. They responded in the negative. Interesting - do you know the reasoning? (Also if you could post a link to the source of that information if you saw it on a forum somewhere I'd appreciate it for reference.) The RuneScape highscores and the Light Highscores aren't really equivalent entities. The RuneScape Highscores is more focused on rankings, while the Light Highscores is just meant to be a data feed and contains data on players who are not listed on the RuneScape Highscores (as long as they have 1 skill above level 30 - possibly level 15 now). If P2P stat data is accessible on the Light Highscores for players not on the regular highscores, then it would be a contradiction not to have F2P players on the Light Highscores as well, as the state of not existing on the regular RuneScape highscores does not prevent you from appearing on the Light Highscores. Jagex's entire reason for removing F2P from the regular Highscores was to minimize the rank distribution - not to block fansites from retrieving F2P players' level and experience data as well. Yes, I realize the utter lack of logic as well. It's really mind-boggling. I can't give you a link to the source because it's on a sub-forum that you can't access. The best I can do is provide a screenshot of what W13 said: That's all. No reasoning was mentioned. Knowing them, they probably didn't give any.

Hey Isthatok, I tried to join Pure F2ps as a visited clan chat but it says it doesn't exist. I tried Pure F2p though and that worked. Do you know what the issue might be?

Top 250 F2P Skill Total List
I remember asking them for their RSN way back when on the Runehead forums—they preferred not to disclose it. I'd also be interested in knowing what it was. Yes, I believe it did start out as the Top 100, but I don't know when it was created. The oldest picture I have is Ocelotbren's screenshot of the list from February 2005. I don't know exactly when the size was increased to 200—all I know is that it was after May 2006 (pic) and before June 2007, which is the date when this thread was created by Aura (see the first page), who referred to it as the Top 200 list at the time.

Top 250 F2P Skill Total List
This is such a noble community, and the prospect of its death has pained me more than anything I've ever encountered in my 7 years of playing Runescape. Suddenly, the game has become infinitely lonelier. I don't think a bigger blow could have been dealt to our community without killing off everyone in it for good. For those of you who have chosen to keep playing in spite of the hiscores removal: would you be interested in starting some kind of clan/friends chat? Or is there already one that is vibrant enough (and will continue to be after the update) that we can join? Isthatok: you were a most diligent and self-disciplined caretaker who truly cared about this community, and this last effort of yours was a nice way to draw the close of an era that should have never had to end. We have a lot to thank you for, as well as your predecessors, Lordjake, A_U_R_A, Akm762, Danesi, and Veractus, the original creator of the list. You were all dedicated to making this community stand out for its resolve and dedication to what it loved, and your patient—and probably thankless—service exemplified those qualities. You all always kept me striving for something: ever since I first learned about the list in 2006, I wanted to get on it, and that was the goal that drove me to play for years. But eventually, I became so immersed in the community that I forgot about that goal and just began playing for the sake of playing. But I couldn't have reached that state without the initial push that the list gave me. And now I'm at the point where I'm okay with the fact that I can't make it on the list anymore, and that I can just be proud of those who did while it was around. Being a part of this community brought me more satisfaction than a place on that list ever could have, especially if I had never gotten a chance to interact with those who were on it. I bid farewell to those who are leaving. You were all my friends, whether I ever met you or not. ~Adib

It's not a "free" MMORPG anymore.
Was it Ladykilljoy, right after Gearshifter, who was after Zonghui?

The F2P methods are the ones I prefer. The F2P community is the one I enjoy being a part of. Everybody has their own preference when it comes to playing a game, and F2P is mine. I can't help that. I'm not going to play a game I don't enjoy (the P2P version)that would defeat the purpose of playing a game to begin with: for enjoyment and entertainment. Too defeatist for my taste. ;) As I said before, I'll continue to play anyway with the hope that this action is amended in some way or totally repealed in the future, just like the decision to remove the wilderness. That being said, I have a right to voice my concerns even though I've decided to continue playingbut I'm done now, since I've said all I have to say.

What happen to that picture? I saw it this morning before head to work and wanted to save it when I come back. Even though pictures were poorly drawn, but it believer such a strong message (almost cried for some reason). I wish everyone in Runescape can see it. I am not sure if this is the reason Andrew isn't with Jagex anymore, seems how the game is going in the opposite direction the founders were intended. You mean this picture?

It's unfair in that Jagex is explicitly saying that non-members don't compete for ranks the same way members do (see Water and El Popo1's stats/xp). They're pretending that F2P does not have a community where people have the most xp in a certain skill, where people gauge the amount they earn through sites like Runetracker, etc. In fact, we are just as organized as serious members: we have skilling clans with skilling competitions, we compete for the #1 spot in skills and xp records (within the F2P community), and so on. As I said before, Jagex is shamelessly dismissing all of F2P as bots or inexperienced kids who walk around bewildered in the game, totally oblivious to efficient skilling methods or F2P-focused clans. The thing that gets me is they know that's not true, and they're lying through their teeth. That's why they keep avoiding the question of pure F2Pers who DO know what they're doing and DO participate in the larger pure F2P community: because admitting that such a group of people exists would be inconvenient to their plan.
