  1. Maybe spend some extra cash for some peripherals and build an arcade box, or a TV box, or some kind of device similar.
  2. Feel free to send it down here. I could definitely use that.
  3. Necrophagist - Epitaph Technical brilliance from prodigies of music. The re-release of Onset of Putrefaction was great too.
  4. Just to let you know, nethack is a much better game than rakion. http://www.nethack.org/
  5. Thanks, if you would be so kind as to send me a personal message when you get it up and I'll check it out. :)
  6. Maybe you could make a lo-fi version of that website or directly link to something. I don't have flash and I don't intend to get it. (sorry)
  7. You can set up ipv6 tunneling. It's not very hard (For me..). Took a few hours to set up. Hopefully some ISPs will start offering ipv6 in some of their plans in the years to come. Anyways, it comes with quite a bit more than that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipv6
  8. You leave both of them in the .zip file. I don't use Microsoft Windows, but I'll still try to throw something together for you. 1. Download http://mirrors.xmission.com/mame/main/m ... b_i686.ex* (replace * with e) 2. Install it, it should ask you to extract it to a place. I suggest you make a folder on your desktop then browse to it and select it. 3. Inside that folder, the MAME files will be there. There will be a directory called 'roms.' in the folder you extracted it to. 4. Put the zip files (mslug.zi* and neogeo.zi*) inside of the roms folder. If you decide to get more roms, put them in there too. 5. You should see 'mamepp.ex*' in the folder you extracted it to. Right click it, and press go to 'Send to' and then click 'Desktop.' 6. You should have an icon on your desktop. Now right click it, go to properties, and it should have the path to mamepp.ex* 7, Add mslug to the end of it, so it should look something like this C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Desktop\Mame\mamepp.ex* mslug 8. Run it and enjoy. I haven't touched Windows for a while, so if you need any help beyond that feel free to help. ( Feel free to contact me on AIM: pdoubleopdawg MSN: [email protected] )
  9. http://www.mame.gr/emunews/mame/neogeo.zi* (replace * with p) Download this and put it in the same directory as your mslug.zi* It's the neogeo BIOS and you need it to play. It works for me after I get the neogeo BIOS. :)
  10. Atheist is pretty cool. They just regrouped and they are going to be at Wacken. :D
  11. As I said, it doesn't sound like an emulator problem. Maybe instead of looking for an alternate emulator try to diagnose your problem? MAME is actually an acronym for "Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator" so when you say you are looking for a good Mame emulator you are specifying Mame. Mame is an emulator for arcade games (The big ones that you put money in.) As I said, if it doesn't work with Mame, I doubt switching will fix your problem. Try the asking on the Mame website forums or their IRC. I've seen testimony on various websites saying that Metal Slug works for them on MAME. I'll even give it a go myself.
  12. He's asking about an emulator, which is not illegal depending on how it was made/how it is used. http://www.mame.net/ If this doesn't work for you, it's probably not the emulator. Anyways, Runesmithie, maybe it's time to drop the bikeshedding?
  13. sauerbraten.org I didn't mention it at the top because a mod would have most likely said it was advertising.
  14. Well, I think that texture was made to look flat. There are plenty of textures with 'psuedobumpmapping' that don't look quite as flat. Anywho, here is a screenshot showing a more regular picture of the new features. Made it myself
  15. There are no minimum specs per-say. The author recommends a GeForce 4 or higher. I think I can rule out anything with less than 128mb of RAM, and less than a Pentium 3. You can disable bumpmapping, shaders, and a few other features by launching it with a sauerbraten -f (just edit the shortcut, or if your on a Unix just type in 'sauerbraten -f') My 6600GT hits around 180fps-200fps on maps that don't use bumpmapping constantly, and 120-200 on maps that use a lot of bumpmapping at 1280x1024.
  16. x86_64 is not x64 (It's 32-bit with 64-bit extensions, not fully 64-bit). I believe the Itanium series (ia64) would be best labeled as x64. So either call it AMD64, EMT64, or x86_64 if you want to be fully correct. :-w Other than that, I've owned a amd64 for around three years. Ever since I bought it I've run most applications in x86_64 mode, or at least they somehow take advantage of x86_64. Anyways, you can buy a Socket AM2 motherboard now and then upgrade to a Socket AM3 processor with no problems. AMD has compatibility in mind. Also, I doubt Windows Vista will change much anytime soon. Every application will have to rework itself, and release two editions (One for x86_64, one for x86). I doubt tons of applications will do this, especially freeware/nonprofit. (Excluding a lot of open source software)
  17. Hello, I play a game called Sauerbraten. I'm wondering if anyone else has been into this game. It's a fast-paced FPS with an engine that supports powerful in-game geometry and map editing. This includes networked 'coop-edit.' It has recently gotten some new graphical features. The changelog is Old: New: I am going to be working on a map soon that includes bumpmapped textures. It will be singleplayer. I play under the name Phenax. If you play please post the name you play under here and maybe we can coop-edit or I can whip you in instagib sometime.. :)
  18. Hello, I just set ipv6 up on my computer. It seems pretty nice. Anyone else using ipv6? I can easily tell that it's a bit faster on the router, and from what I've read it's a bit more secure. I wish more things would use ipv6 though.
  19. AMD is great for their money. You can buy a $100 processor that can play (Insert Game Here) on ultra high. I know, because that's what I did. :XD:
  20. Umm, I don't want to start a flame war but: If I say it needs four GPU's then it can be four video cards. If he says it needs four video cards, then it can't *JUST* be four GPUs.
  21. Quad SLI means you have 4 video cards running at once working together to do the graphics work. Same with SLI but only with 2 cards. CAS2/3 means the speed on the memory, the lower the better. Wrong. Quad SLI can be defined as four cores (GPU) (Two 7950GX2).. Doesn't have to be four video card.
  22. I suggest you get 2GB. I had 1GB and I've recently upgraded. I've noticed quite a performance boost with everything. Windows Vista Professional (Or whatever) requires a minimum of 1GB of RAM, while the basic edition requires 512mb. If I were getting the 'Professional edition' I wouldn't want the bare minimum. I believe the bare minimum for XP is 64mb of RAM. I've ran XP on 64mb of RAM. It's not very fun. I think it's enough for now, but with all of the new technology submerging I think it'd be wise to fork over some extra cash.
