  1. Heh.. mining fights definitely do spice up the monotony of mining. It always got me more alert and clicking faster when I saw someone coming for my ores. Most of the time I would look up their mining level. Most of the time, it was 10 or more levels higher than mine. I still tried to fight for the resources most of the time, but if I wasn't getting the ore more than 4/5 the time, I usually would ask them how long they were planning on mining. If they were there first, I'd usually hop worlds. If I was there first, I'd ask them to hop worlds or find another spot, and suggest to them a good spot/world. Courtesy usually goes a long way. ~Lunar
  2. I asked a Moderator where this would go and explained my reasoning and whatnot. I figured that if I were to put this in the Forum Games, then it wouldn't get the type of serious responses that I wanted. It's less of a game than it is a situational-response. And thanks all, these are the types of posts I was looking for! :D *EDIT* Except for blacksimon. If you don't have anything constructive and that relates to the topic at hand, then don't post.
  3. So now I propose a new kind of thread to you. This thread asks you what you would do in certain situations. It is asking what you personally would do, not what the popular opinion is or would be (unless you're opinion falls in with it). Perhaps once a day a new situation will be proposed and a new discussion will ensue. 6/20 Situation: *You're minding your own business, training a nice AFK skill, such as woocutting. Since you have a Party Hat, you decide to flaunt it and wear it while you train. As you do, a person comes up* You: Hey, how are you? Other: Good, how about yourself? You: Pretty good. Other: Wow, nice party hat! You: Thank you =P Other: How'd you get it? You: Oh, I just got it over time. You know.. skilling, merchanting. Other: Ah, that's pretty cool. *You carry on a conversation with the other player, and become friends. After a while, he asks you if you'd like to talk on MSN* You: Sure! *Seeing as you've known him for a while now, you can trust him. So you give him your MSN name and you two begin to talk* You: So how're you doing today? Other: Pretty good. You: Oh hey, wait, I just got a Tree Spirit random. *Today you're woodcutting and you get a random. But this is where it all changes. The new "friend" begins to spam your MSN with random messages, which causes your computer to freeze up. You try what you can to fix it, but nothing works. You're still fighting the tree spirit, too. When you get everything fixed and log back in, you find yourself in Lumbridge with your axe and two magic logs.* You: OMG!!! He scammed me!!!! *The other player deletes you from his friends list and from his MSN and never talks to you again. You're crushed about the loss of your party hat.* [hide=Previous Situations]6/19 Situation: *You are mining in a nice area with rocks close together for your convenience. Another player comes up and starts mining the same rocks* You: Is that necessary? Other: Yes.. You: I was here before you. Other:So, these rocks don't have your name on them. You:No, but could you hop worlds please? Other:No noob. *Other Player continues to mine the same rocks as you, get 3/4 of the ores* *You, on inspection of his mining level, see that he's 5 levels higher than yours*[/hide] Now, the decision of what to do is up to you. Please, in your post include what you would do and why you would do that. If you agree with someone else, then you may post that, but try to explain why. And if you disagree, post why you disagree and what you would do in this situation. Thanks and have fun! ~Lunar
  4. Done with Fletching for the time being. Got up to 46 Crafting, almost to 47 from spinning all that flax. Gotta sell those 2.85k willow longs now and then start on smelting my ores.
  5. Hawt hawt hawt! Good luck with this! I see that you're already half way there... I don't think I'd ever have the patience for 99 Mining. I barely had it for 60! :D Have fun! ~Lunar
  6. I would pick flax, but don't sell it! Pick it in the Gnome Stronghold; there are two good flax plants in a good location right next to the bank. Pick as many as you want there, but keep it in even increments; try to stick to picking by the 100s. After you've picked enough flax (I'd say 500-1k for your first go), then do a Home-Teleport to Lumbridge, and spin your flax in the castle there. Sell for 200gp each. That way you get twice the profit of selling plain flax and you get the added Crafting experience from making the bowstrings. Keep doing this until you have enough money to train your other skills or buy whatever.
  7. I believe that with the addition of this "String All" feature, they should have allowed you to still string them one by one if you wanted to. It's much quicker that way. I'm personally not going for 99 Fletching; I really don't like the skill all that much. But I just want to get done with my Fletching as soon as possible so that I can move onto other goals. And for those of you who argue that "it gives you time to do something else", what are you going to do in the 12-14 seconds that it grants you extra? Not much.. I spend more time sitting there doing nothing because I'm typing a response or reading. But I do see where the pros in this update are. All these people ranting about how Fletching is sooo fast and way too easy; here's the update they've been looking for. Although it doesn't slow down the skill by that much, it still adds on a bit more time for someone to go for 99 Fletching. It might just discourage some for getting it just because it's one of those "easy 99s". I really hope it does; I find it kind of sad that so many people go for 99 Fletching (and Cooking) just to get the cape so that they can have the bonuses. An Achievement Cape is just that; for achievements. For getting 99 in a particular skill; not just for the sole purpose of having a training item. And seeing someone wearing a Fletching or Cooking cape does not bring them any more admiralty in my opinion. ~Lunar
  8. I'm 46 now.. almost 47. Whoohoo! And I'm done spinning flax for now. I'll be offline for the rest of the night, and tomorrow I'll be stringing bows for 60 Fletching.
  9. You've got some good sigs that you've made, ThruItAll.
  10. As good as I could get it.. http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/1150/mesmitahyh9copyev0.png
  11. It's fine.. happens a lot when I try to talk to someone who's constantly switching worlds. What were you doing by the way? 43 Crafting! *EDIT* Oh yea.. I've added in Trunksbomb's old blog and Sir Xaeroe's old blog for nostalgia purposes. You can read through them if you'd like, but just don't post in them so they don't get locked or anything.
  12. Already hit 41 and am closing in on 42, but I don't normally take screenshots of the random "in-between" levels.
  13. Heh.. Trunksbomb needed to retire. He'd been killing things and skilling things for much too long. He's been around since early 2002, and he just needed a break. And thanks, I'll need some support if I'm to get some of the harder skills up. And I'll add you in game if you want to talk. 39 Crafting! Wheee! I r winnar. Anyone like my new avatar? I thought of/made it all by my lonesome. Currently spinning 2.85k flax, and then making willow longs. Shouldn't be too hard. I hope that the new "String All" option still allows you to do it the old way.. I'd rather go fast then be able to have 30 seconds or so to browse the forums.
  14. Mmkay. Well, I've gotten 54 Fletching from just making the bows, and now I'm picking flax. I've got 1k out of 2.85k flax picked.
  15. I feel special. I get quoted a lot in the quotes that you do of quotes of other peoples' quotes. And yes, I need to get some Herblore experience. But... unfortunately, that'll be later on after you've gotten 99 Herblore.. My Herblore goal isn't coming anytime soon.. I haven't even done the dern quest yet. I'm doing fairly well; you should check out my blog again. ~Lunar
  16. Turned out I only needed 7.2k ores, which works out to be 48 Rings of Forging. I'm going to get 60 Fletching first before I get 60 Smithing just to have that out of the way. Along the way, I'll be getting a couple of Crafting levels from picking and spinning all that flax..
  17. Got 7k ores mined now, going out on the lake with my girlfriend and her family. I'll add you when I get home! And you're Pure_im_pur and pure_non_pur?
  18. Hm.. I don't know what broke the link. You can navigate to that page through the link I provided there. I'll upload the image to Imageshack in just a sec.. *EDIT* Uploaded to Imageshack. Now for your viewing pleasure!
  19. I don't know why I'm keeping this set up.. I never stake. Maybe just so I'm not like the rest of the 70/99/1 people out there... Heh. You seem to be the only one posting, imperialglory. Thanks.
  20. Meh.. I've never owned the Goldsmithing Gauntlets, so I wouldn't know what they look like. And yea, I was thinking that the guy on the left was wearing a green/black dragonhide (g) chaps... Looks wierd. Any definite confirmation on what these are?
  21. Home > Manual > About RuneScape > What is RuneScape? What's the guy on the left wearing? This whole picture just looks odd to me.. Any clues? The hair on the guy on the left is funky thoo.. And what gloves and pants is the guy on the right wearing?
  22. That's a whoooooole bunch of yews.. good luck with that.
  23. Nah. Having higher attack and defence is a common set-up for stakers nowadays. Coming up on 6.5k ores banked now.
