Maybe the 21 documentary will be better.
  6. Clearly you'r character art is decent enough for a super beginner, you'll need practice there, but what you should really do is work on backgrounds. Don't use sig sized stuff to practice, do small stuff for now and cram in a lot of detail, trust me it is very helpful.
  7. The font and font positions are horible.

  14. You're welcome. Here's how I would make the Archer:
  15. Its difficult to explain. Just look at it like they're shapes, and shade accordingly. If something isn't in the lightsource (is blocked by something, or is farther back) it should be less light than something if full view of the light.
  16. He looks very flat, you need to bring out the shape of his body, don't make all the shading a gradient towards a certain spot. Different places require differant shading. At least you're trying.
  17. Nope, these are just motional studies.
  18. My first, a caped, walking bloober A bloober goes Chuck Norris. Latest, the miraculous backflipper. Yes, he just did a backflip, WHILE LAYING DOWN! Rate and stuff.

  22. I'd say you should probably work on the thighs somemore, the unbent one should proabably be a little more convex. I would think, If you where using your shield, you woul have your knee bent and facing the other direction, but thats just sylistic. And beware of over dithering. You have a ton of promise in pixel art, you just need practice.
  23. Ok, first, I saw that there where a ton of excess colors, maily in his shoulder gaurds things, so I took them all out and made each all the objects have unified colors, meaning I used the same red for the whip that I used in the book, same rune color for the shoulders as the legs, etc. Then, I outlined it in black. I started with the rune, deciding the light would come top-down, meaning the services top parts would be illuminated and those on bottom would be on darkness, so his breast would be farther out than his stomach, so I made that area lighter, with only a few spots of light in his abdomen, where the armour sticks out a bit. I made the tops of shoulders lighter, using at first simply the color of the rune plate just to give a basic indication as too where its brighter. I made the thigh area of the legs brighter using the same technique. Then I began to think about shading, and decided I wanted to keep the colors and try not to add any to the pallete that wasn't already there, though it was very tempting to fetch a color darker than that red, it would have probably made for a nicer effect if I had. Anyways, I looked at the colors of his entire body, and found the lightest one to be white, so I used that as a highlight (because metal is highly shiny. You dont want to use so much light all the time), then I used the yellow to compliment it and tone it down so it wasn't so harsh againts the dark blue. I then used the flesh tone, the horn tone, then the helmet tone to fade it into the metal but still look very shiny. Doing this gave the metal a glowy feel, as if he's in bright light. I did the same for the plates, and added a reflected glow at the bottom of his chest area since his ribcage caught some light I figured it should do som reflecting. I used a dark line above the reflection to seperate it from the main part and make it look like how metal gets very dark right next to a reflected highlight. I'm tired of typing. Ask me if you on't understand what I did, but I'm not going to but every single step out here, it'd take to long. There you go Cawnaw, I actualy helped you, I hope. And guys, I don't think its showing off if its helping someone.
  24. Aren't you lazy while you're on the john? And, I think what you misunderstand about the other one is that his hand is a little behind his thigh, but thewir both away from the light so they're shaded as one darkness. Or did I misinterperet? Please, I want to hear your response. Thanks misterxman.
