Did you even look at when you finished? Does that look right to you?

Forget blending, learn how to shade well first. Shading isn't just blending coors towards a lightsource blandly. Real shading is defining your image with lights and darks in the right place, creating depth and form. You need help with anatomy tha I doubt could be provided here. A textbook of anatomy is your best bet.

The composition, or lack thereof, disturbs me. Somehow, there seems to be little... balance? Technicaly, its excellent.

Wait, are you criticising or praising me? Since I'm the only one I know who ever posts the amount of colors they use, it seems you misunderstand me when I say "9 colors". I don't mean, "Oh looky I'm special!!! Look!!! I'm so superior, be amazed!!!", it's just kinda a joke and a technical thing, like the dimensions. All the better to cut down on the posts asking me how many colors I use if I don't put it in in the first place. Its actualy not all that difficult when you get the hang of it, and it kinda is a waste of time, but really, all pixel art is. I'm not good enough to put my art to use commercialy and its not really my ambition to, to me, its just a waste of time that I happen to enjoy. Why not place restrictions on myself, and stay true to the point of pixel art ( low colors and high detail for video games)? And thats where you lose me, perhaps you should proofread your post for clarity. You say you 'if using less colors makes the image come out funky' my pieces are usualy funky not simply because they use less colors, but rather, the colors I do use are strange. Then you say you can't deny I have talent, and hasnt made good things in low colors. Ok. So? Anyways, he hat is too big, it would fall over her head, he arms are too small, her jacket has no folds, her shoulder is out of perspective, and 2 colors is just too few to be effective. At least three, but 4 is ideal for super low color. Bye.

How does a rating help you? When a diver is judged with numbers, she doesn't look at them and suddenly realize- hey, 7.5! I know exactly what I need to do to get better!

Pjtomboy and Sereth, I thought you could tell that I was simply turning down your request, not criticising you for putting up the wrong references. Sorry if that was unclear. If I seem moody, its just because I thought that since I was doing this thing for everyone, making free avatars, that people would be polite enough to read my posts.

You know, I thought I was pretty clear. I guess I was wrong. Let me say it again, NO. VIDEO. GAME. REFERENCES. As in, do not show me pictures of some lame video game and say 'make this'. Ronnie, Gandorf, Pjtomboy, Bloodredsword, Sereth, Noproblem22: No. Read my posts, don't put up video game references. I want references, but only IRL. OK? This might be closing if people continue to disregaurd the simple rules I've made.

Imhomer and Fadeawai: Possibly. Flamer: No. Everyone should understand that I don't have all the time in the world during the week, so I can't do as many avatars till the weekend.

I always do my homework, I just make sure to finish before 9, usualy I don't have much going on anyways. I like sleeping satisfied that I've done what I'm supposed to do. Not that I really care about calculating percent of change, but if I play by the rules and do this math junk, I'll be able to pursue the career I want without any hitches.

I don't want Video Game reference pics, they're almost always unappealing. Unless its like, Mario or something. Mario is an exception. Hes awesome. I do like real life references. I like to have the references straight on or in profile. I like those references of people with prominent features. Easier to draw. I'll probably not do any females. I don't want to offend myself or others in attempting that yet. The end.

Just to make sure no one misunderstands: I wasn't saying Blazer was crap.

Shading isn't making the areas around your lines dark- that looks like crap. Its about defining areas of darkness and light. The lines are just a guidline to where these areas go. Punch the keys for gods sake!
