  1. Hmm good point. And Venomai, how bout a mirror thread like you said? You know, one thread consisting of only good ones, and the other consisting of bad ones. (poor people though...) The first shows how a good one should be done. It wont be just dedicated to one person. It will contain works and styles from other artists. So it balances out a bit. On the other, it contains like what you said, the things shouldn't do and tips on how you can improve. Bring them together and you get a self-teaching tutorial! Heck, we can even ask the author to put out a short, steps-of-creation process on how they did it. It doesnt have to be dedicated to sigs too. Like wall papers for more ambitious ones. (although we do have other sites for that... sounds like a waste...) And white, I was kinda thinking the same thing. Problem is, who would bother to do one. :( Thats a big hurdle right there.
  2. The Drag armor guy's arm seems to be floating. The shadow of the tree is a blob and has no branches. The ranger seems fine to me :)
  3. Passing out and other physical problems seems to be the dominant topic  For some reason I have never fainted in my life. I was anemic before but not to the extreme. I wanna faint too... :(
  4. Well you know we have alot of good artists here. And every once in a blue moon, we do see a work that definitely stands out from the rest. Pixelated, Photoshoped or otherwise. Sometimes the person who ordered them do use them and we are able to see them around in the forums. Unfortunately, some of these works do vanish away into obscurity... This is a suggestion for a "Media Musuem/Hall of Fame". Works can be submitted by authors and voted upon by the people so that if popular enough, it can be "hanged and displayed" within a dedicated topic. The process: 1.) It starts with the work being nominated. For example, lets say an author entered in a competition a beautiful piece. People who want to nominate it will say so within the competition topic that it is worth "hanging." 2.) If enough people agree with it, then it can be then brought to the attention of our dedicated panel of Judges (Our very own Media board Mods maybe?) 3.) The Judges can then decide to create a poll with which viewers can have the opportunity to criticize the reasons for either allowing the piece to be "hanged" or not. 4.) If the piece has been deemed worthy and the arguments and votes for it to be "hanged" are strong, then it will have the honor to be added within the museum. (The authors themselves will have no part in the decision making to about influencing votes.) The piece shall be graded by its average score. 5/5 etc. 5.) Now we do have to make certain that the only pieces to go in are that of high quality and standard. If the last 4 stages can't assure this, I suggest a "Top 10-20-etc " rule so that the best has the opportunity to shine among the rest. All others that didn't meet the criteria can be sidelined to another spot on the thread. (They still made it in anyway) Now that ive thought of it, the idea sounds complicated dont it? Lots of work, biased opinions, issues of unfairness, topic size, clashing egos, confusion, ripping/scamming/copyright issues, organization problems, spam-like pieces, noobs/know-it-alls, accomodation problems, blackmailing, bribes, angry mobs, alien abductions, nuclear war, murder... Okay im just spamming now. And did I mention ALOT OF WORK? The process might not be even worth the trouble, I know... But on the other hand; People will enjoy them, artists will be inspired, increased competion=better works, adds class and recognition for our forum and a short, 15 minutes of fame for the lucky ones. (my brain stopped working... I cant think of anything else...) This is just a thought, no need for for stingy, half-minded comments... You know as well as I do that It wont probably work. But the most I can ask from you guys is a discussion about it. Good enough?

  16. Ive been trying to blend the shading together with the spray tool for a long time lol. I guess I can try that. Thanks for the tip. :D I can't see any of the images? But are you making pixel sigs? Cause using the spray tool is kind of cheating :P I saved them in .png and uploaded them thru imageshack so I dont know why you cant see them... :? Ok from now on I'll stay away from spray tools... Im coming clean.
  17. so wat is the most useful finger in your opinion?, the middle finger? Is it to you? Cuz I'll say the most useful is my thumb... Gotta love that opposable thumb.

  20. i don't think thats a good thing Well the pinky is prolly the most useless finger anyway. Well maybe second to the ring finger...
  21. Goal is to move from 80 x 80 to 300 x 150s eventually, so im focusing on linework... Latest: Best linework so far. (Sorry if its too dark... I lost the orginal sketch while I was cutting and pasting the character to the background... Had to redo.) The "Angel" Started pixeling last night for no apparent reason... Done hurriedly... Was entered in a comp, but the host was no where to be found. Learned alot in character linework in the process though. My current avy. Very proud of this. One of the best results I got from practicing line tools and curves. Earlier attempt at line work and shading... First time I learned to do pixel in seperate parts. Meaning I did the character first, and then pasting it to a completed background. Forgot where it came from though... Oh yea... I forgot I can animate... Been requested by the person... Character looks a tad bit wierd cuz I didn't know how to do good character lineworks back then... The "Baseball" Learning Eclipse tools, Curves, Linetool and shading... Looks rigid, but it came out clean IMO. The "Chicken" I was very dependent on the Eclipse line tool in the past. Earliest avy I made from scratch that I could remember. No one is really happy with this one... I just want to learn how to draw... Asides from a couple of Tuts here and there plus some stuff I picked while browsing along, ive been basically figuring out things step by step... ANY TIPS/HINTS/COMMENTS/SUGGESTIONS is greatly appreciated. :D
  22. How about dark skies so that the dragon sword would glow against it? Kinda like in wildy :D
  23. Worst. Logic. Ever. The order they came out in has absolutely nothing to do with weather or not the good guys win. The series ended with Episode VI(6): Return of the Jedi, when the second Death Star is destroyed and the good Rebellion winning over the evil Empire. Episode III(3): Revenge of the Sith is set roughly 20 years before Episode IV(4): A New Hope. Then it is another 4 years from the events in the beginning of ANH to the end of RotJ. If I tried to make a bad analogy: If there were two movies made about World War II. The first one to come out takes place on D-Day and then follows the allies moving into Germany and ends with the allies winning. The second to come out (Set before the first) ends with, oh let's say, the Battle of France where Germany invades France and has an upper-hand in the war. By your logic the Axis would have won WWII. I don't know how to make that any more simplistic. I got quoted Star Wars again! And I got a history lesson too! :D
  24. Then both people are happy :D
  25. You realize that the last Star Wars movie that just was/still is in theaters is number 3 in the series and that there are 6 of them, right ? The last one, storyline-wise is "The Return of the Jedi". Ok, I know they came out in a weird order, but if you like Star Wars, surely you know that. Release dates (date-ordered, not storyline-oredered): Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983) Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) No I didn't realize I was a geek. Yes I realize they came in a wierd order. But. Did the series not end with the likely defeat of the heroes, which was Ep. 3? By order of name, yes the good guys won. By order of appearance, the bad guys won... Im going with this one.
