  4. [spoiler=Previous days][spoiler=Days 1-5]Day 1: Favorite song Great, I'm already stuck at the first day. There's many songs that I absolutely love, but because I don't want to go with a depressing song (I really like ballads and depressing songs, it seems), I'll pick by the Raconteurs, a nice upbeat song. Other songs on the shortlist, which may be more deserving from an objective point of view were (Metallica), (Slipknot) and (Eric Clapton), among others. The thing that really pushed me over the edge is that Salute Your Solution really got me into indie/garage/alternative rock, that and the fact that I didn't want to list a sad song as my favorite. Day 2: Least favorite song. The one that came to mind at first was Friday (Rebecca Black), but thinking a bit further brought me to by the Scissor Sisters. I've hated this song ever since it came out and the fact that it was played so much just made it worse. Day 3: A song that makes me happy. There are many songs that make me happy, but I think my favorite out of those is by the Beatles. Other songs on this shortlist: (the Fratellis), (My Chemical Romance) and (the Raconteurs). Day 4: A song that makes me sad. Didn't take me long to find this one: by Slipknot. Day 5: A song that reminds me of someone by Bryan Adams. The story behind it: someone I knew (not a great friend, but a friend nonetheless) played the drums, when I came over to his house he told me he could drum this song and then went on drumming to this song. Ever since, I've always thought of him whenever this song comes up lol. [spoiler=Day 6-10]Day 6: A song that reminds me of somewhere by Fatboy Slim. Reminds me of home, but not in the nostalgic sense. I used to bike with my iPod a lot in the summer and always put my iPod on shuffle while biking. Every time I came home this song would come up on the shuffle playlist. Day 7: A song that reminds me of an event by Infected Mushroom. It reminds me of a particularly fun gaming session I had with my friends, with this song playing. Day 8: A song I know all the words too. by Queen. Also reminds me of an event, to be honest, but that's a different story :P Day 9: A song I can dance too. Barbra Streisand by Duck Sauce. I won't be doing day 10, I don't sleep to songs. Day 11: A song from my favorite band. Tough choice, but I think my favorite at the moment is a Belgian band, the . Shame they only have one album, but every single song on that album is great. Day 12: A song from a band I hate. . I never liked this, even now that I'm more into metal. Day 13: A guilty pleasure. by Papa Roach. May be the most emo song in the world, I still like it. Day 14: A song no one would expect me to like. Done With Everything, Die For Nothing by Children of Bodom. I think only one or two of my closest friends know that I kinda like melodic death metal. Day 15: A song that describes me. Time to sound incredibly cliched, but . Yeah, I know. While no one's skin has made me cry (yet), I do feel kinda like an outcast, despite not really being one. Oh well, I won't go deeper into that over here, spare you guys from the boredom. Day 16: A song I used to love but now hate. Oasis' . Hate is a strong word, but I'm really sick of it now. It was the first song I'd learned on the guitar and I played it way too much.

Sneezing feels good though. One sneeze feels good, but a constant chain of them in the middle of night, not so much.

Ugh, tonight I woke up at 4am just sneezing. I spent 5 minutes just sneezing. Pissed me off because I really needed the sleep. Oh well, it's weekend now, so I can sleep as long as I want.

Well, I'll be damned, Das. Feel free not to answer this, but why? Also, uninteresting day. Back to school, had a hilarious gym class in the morning and that's basically it.

Back in Belgium after two weeks in Egypt. Now I need to take a shower and get to bed, school tomorrow and I've barely had any sleep. Oh well, I'll manage. @Lizzy, good luck with the baby.

We're travelling back to Belgium tomorrow morning. Today, we went and visited the church where the New Year's bombings had happened, here in Alexandria.

The bunny stems from pagan traditions, as far as I know, it represented fertility. It was probably kept in place by the Church in their attempts to paganize Christian holidays, so converting to Christianity would be easier. I could be totally wrong here, but I think that's the gist of it.

;) Birthday today. I'm no longer OT's baby. (Well, still one of, if not the youngest) I think I'll sleep all day. Happy birthday. Nothing special in my day today, except for the evening Easter mass in church, which I'm not looking forward to.

Had a pretty damn boring week. I'm in Egypt right now, which is way less fun than it sounds since I'm here to visit family. Not too many family visits though, so so far I've just been sitting at home all day with absolutely nothing to do. On the bright side, I bought a oud today, a stringed instrument. But on the not-so bright side of that, I have no idea how to properly tune, string or play that at the moment. So, to recap, bored.

  18. Where did you get the idea of a 'u' being after the q from? It's not a French word, it's Arabic :) I don't have much more to add to this conversation by the way, just wanted to ask that.

Knock on wood, Napalm :) This day has been pretty uneventful in my case. This whole week actually; just a few boring family visits.
  20. Youre right, theres nobody who wears ski masks around and there are people who wear burqas around with honest intentions. Whats your point? If anything your argument sounds like you should be against the burqa ban. We don't see ski masks around in public, yet people still wear them to comit crimes all the time. Why would the burqa be any different? If someone wants to use the burqa to hide their ID, what is going to make it different from just throwing it on the same way people throw on other masks? I will admit it was a bit poorly worded. What I meant is that ski masks aren't something that people in society just wear. Burqas are. I'm not claiming everyone wearing a burqa has bad intentions, but there is a chance that someone is. A difference between the two is that a ski mask can be put on quickly before robbing a bank, but burqas are way harder to just jump into if you want to rob a bank or assault someone or whatever it is you want to do. You have to think about the implications that you don't know who you're speaking to or looking at when someone passes in a burqa. Those are people of which you can't know their identity. It may not be a direct threat, but it's an indirect threat that makes people uncomfortable. If some religion suddenly called for ski masks to be worn at all times, it wouldn't take long for the state to do something about it, but because this specific religion is Islam it's suddenly unheard of to ban such a thing. Rocco: Bombers dressed in burqas killed 41 in Pakistan while standing in line in Pakistan. I don't have time at the moment to look for many more stories, but this one's an example of bombers that just blended in with the crowd before detonating themselves. If they were running around with explosives strapped to their waist and they weren't wearing burquas, something would probably have been done. Like I said, I don't have time now because I have to leave in a minute.
  21. I'm not saying it is different. My whole point is it's the same and it's even worse, since there's no certainty about any of the person's characteristics. You can't even tell the gender. I don't know if there's a law regarding wearing ski or hockey masks in public, but if there isn't, I wish there was one. But to be honest, there's no one wearing those masks without the intention of committing a crime.
  22. Then we should ban pockets and trenchcoats. I can go outside right now with a gun inside my coat pocket and nobody would know. This is clearly a security threat. Yes, but the difference is anyone can see what you look like. If you rob a store or assault someone, witnesses can describe what you look like. If someone's wearing a burqa you can't even tell their gender with certainty. This is true. The law will still be broken by certain individuals and there's nothing that can be done about it. The main thing is that there is a law that's meant to show people that something is not accepted. Not in response to anyone in particular, but I don't view this as strictly a terror threat, but a bit broader, as any crime that can happen on the street. Like I said earlier, people have right to religious expression and freedom of speech, but when any of those rights are in conflict with public safety, something has to be done about. Which is why I don't think anything should be done about hijab.
