  1. This question shall haunt philosophers for years to come.
  2. What's wrong with saying "we won"? It's not like they actually think they won the match. It just means you're really into the team and you feel part of the whole group that are supporting the team.

Two more days and I'm finally done with exams. Then I'll have the most glorious opening to the summer holidays I've had so far :D

All this talking about parks and walking made me want to go take a walk in the park myself. Ended up spending an hour and a half walking around, going through the denser forest bits and sitting around watching the lakes while listening to music, all in all, had a good time :)

So now we have an FBI employee and a mafia associate. I like the way this is looking :P
  6. Watched Boondock Saints yesterday. Awesome movie. Next up: Snatch.

Had the most realistic dream last night. I mean, I've had days in real life that were more surreal than that dream, everyone in it acted like they would in real life and nothing over the top happened. I woke up half-wondering if what happened was real. That was weird. Anyway, nothing exciting will happen to me today, a bit of studying, I'll probably be checking out Snatch later.
  8. Or even they're part one religion and nothing else. If people inherited religion then there would be no atheists. You are not part Jewish on your mother's side, no matter what you say. Jewish is both an ethnicity and a religion... See i've heard that but it never made sense to me. It's not a region of the world they live in, or come from, it's just something they believe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jews
  9. I remember the Ever Caught Them thread was locked after a lot of discussion about the Mature content tag? Or am I remembering it wrongly?
  10. My most vivid memory is probably the big rollback that happened a while back, after which the new phpBB was installed onto the forum. And of course some people that are now no longer with us, it seems. Time flies...
  11. Why would you do that in the first place?
  12. I live in Belgium, which is a pretty good place to be a biker: bike lanes at most roads, only rarely do you need to drive on the road, and that's usually on suburban roads or any other roads where cars have enough space to just pass the biker(s) by. I will admit that I can do some pretty stupid [cabbage] as a biker though, I've probably pissed off my share of drivers, but hey, I've been nearly run over more than once without it being my fault so I guess we're even, drivers.
  13. Most rock subgenres, ranging from acoustic indie pop rock (is that even a thing?) to death metal, though for some reason I don't seem to like punk rock anymore, which is weird since I used to be a big fan of it. Oh well, times changes, so do tastes I guess.
  14. Momentum by Truckfighters. Big thanks to Diesel for posting one of their songs here and making me discover them :)
  15. QOTSA's No One Knows. Awesome riff.
  16. You won't be laughing when you're dead in two days. :P
  17. This. Had a friend who shaved his for when he went swimming to make him more "streamlined through the water" but this was a guy who shaved his eyebrows off before we played poker so we couldn't read his expressions so take from that what you will. That must be the most competitive guy I've ever heard of. To answer the question, no, but I would if it ended up being way too long. Too long basically meaning it comes out of my t-shirt.
  18. Mavericks by Johnossi. The whole album. I've become obsessed with this band lately.

Got a bit too drunk yesterday :x Oh well, at least I was well-prepared when I came back home, so it's all good. And I had fun, met some friends in a completely new way. Now I've gotta edit this pretty long video by tomorrow... EDIT: Happy birthday Sam.
  20. While I'm not trying to defend this guy, the prophecies were mottos that were being connected to popes, the ones that came after the time it was written are sometimes a bit of a stretch, but close enough to be called correct by anyone who would believe in that sort of thing in the first place.
  21. The title says it all. Let me start with some background info on this. Yesterday I spilled some coke on my laptop keyboard (yes, I know, stupid). At the first the keyboard was acting up, then I turned the laptop off for a while and let it dry. By the time I turned it back on, the keyboard was working perfectly again. Except for ctrl + a. I am completely baffled as to why only that one combo isn't working, as I can use ctrl + c, v, z, etc without problems. I already tried with an onscreen keyboard, and that's working fine. I've tried looking for a troubleshooting option under Control Panel -> Hardware -> Keyboard, but there was no "Troubleshoot" button, just a notice that the device was working correctly. I've also tried Ctrl + Alt + Fn (that had come up on my Google searches), didn't work either. So yeah, I have no idea what's wrong with my Ctrl + A, does anyone have an idea?
  22. Confederacy of Dunces. Really nice book, the way the characters are introduced. I usually read it with a smile, the big blend of different characters combined with the absurdity of some of the situations, without those situations becoming unrealistic, makes it a real pleasure to read. Next on my to-read list is Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
  23. I'm nowhere near being a doctor, but I'm guessing the wound gets infected, even if the splinter itself would fall off.
  24. I'll admit that I didn't know the operation could be lethal, which does complicate matters for me a bit. I think that in the end, it's the hospital's job to inform the patient (or the patient's guardian if the patient is unable to decide for himself for whatever reason) about the dangers of specific operations. Most operations have a danger factor, but in the end, it's up to the patient himself (or the patient's guardian, see my previous parentheses :P) to decide whether they want to take the risk. Also, I won't disagree that "[i'm] a square" :P
  25. I'm pretty certain the ticket for going under the limit means you're going way too slow for the road, like doing 15 on a 60, not for just driving a bit under the limit...
