  1. I'm not saying everyone with a burqa is a terrorist, but there is a risk that comes with being completely covered. And it doesn't even have to be a terrorist for it to be a threat; if you got robbed by someone wearing a burqa, what would you tell the police? If you saw a man walking on the street and he's wearing a ski mask, wouldn't you be at least a bit distrustful of him? I know there's a big difference, but in the end it boils down to the same, this is a man of which you cannot find out the identity. Edit: Guy beat me to it :)
  2. [spoiler=Previous days]Day 1: Favorite song Great, I'm already stuck at the first day. There's many songs that I absolutely love, but because I don't want to go with a depressing song (I really like ballads and depressing songs, it seems), I'll pick by the Raconteurs, a nice upbeat song. Other songs on the shortlist, which may be more deserving from an objective point of view were (Metallica), (Slipknot) and (Eric Clapton), among others. The thing that really pushed me over the edge is that Salute Your Solution really got me into indie/garage/alternative rock, that and the fact that I didn't want to list a sad song as my favorite. Day 2: Least favorite song. The one that came to mind at first was Friday (Rebecca Black), but thinking a bit further brought me to by the Scissor Sisters. I've hated this song ever since it came out and the fact that it was played so much just made it worse. Day 3: A song that makes me happy. There are many songs that make me happy, but I think my favorite out of those is by the Beatles. Other songs on this shortlist: (the Fratellis), (My Chemical Romance) and (the Raconteurs). Day 4: A song that makes me sad. Didn't take me long to find this one: by Slipknot. Day 5: A song that reminds me of someone by Bryan Adams. The story behind it: someone I knew (not a great friend, but a friend nonetheless) played the drums, when I came over to his house he told me he could drum this song and then went on drumming to this song. Ever since, I've always thought of him whenever this song comes up lol. Day 6: A song that reminds me of somewhere by Fatboy Slim. Reminds me of home, but not in the nostalgic sense. I used to bike with my iPod a lot in the summer and always put my iPod on shuffle while biking. Every time I came home this song would come up on the shuffle playlist.
  3. I think the ban is a good thing. I see no problem with religious symbols being worn in public, so hijab to me isn't really a problem, but the fact that a burqa covers the whole body is a terrifying thing for public safety. There are basically people walking on the street and you have no idea what they look like or even what gender they are and I find this a big threat for public safety. I'm all for freedom of speech and religion, but once that goes too far and threatens the safety of those around us, I think the government should step in.

  6. Let's try this. I'll just post the three first days at once so I'm not behind. Day 1: Favorite song. Great, I'm already stuck at the first day. Wow, that was overly detailed lol. I doubt anyone really cares but this is fun to find out for myself, so I'll try and keep it up.

Nice job Baller :) I just arrived in Cairo after a 4-hour flight. Now we've gotta wait for 2 hours for the next flight to Alexandria. Thank God for free wi-fi.

Yesterday night was a bit of a disaster near the end lol, one of my friends got too wasted and we ended up having to take care of him for an hour in a freezing cold tent, barely got any sleep. Today was much more fun, I met up with some people from my class and we enjoyed ourselves on the beach despite the cold weather. So yeah, today was good :) I'll be leaving to Egypt tomorrow, not as a tourist but as a family member though, so don't expect me to be lying in the sun all days and having fun at some fancy resort lol. Also, dizzle, keep it up, you're doing something good :)

Indeed, good luck Tim. I just bought my first decent suit, which I'll be wearing for the Easter service. In a few hours my friends will come over, we'll set up a tent together and afterwards head down to our bar with a few other people. Let's hope tonight isn't too cold lol. And then tomorrow we'll probably be going to the beach and just have a ball. Can't wait :) Also, Napalm, the class was at 6am?
  10. Either that or they were right all along :P Also, the Guy Hottel memo seems to me the strangest, "three bodies of human shape but only 3 ft tall." I find that a bit hard to believe.
  11. I risk looking like a complete idiot for asking this, but what if you put it in a fraction? I see why the answer is 288, but when you put the exercise as a fraction it's a different story, right? So purely out of interest, is it different when it's put in a fraction? Or is a fraction mathematically different from a division, since I always thought they were the same. It's just for the sake of knowledge here. [spoiler=What I'd do with a fraction] 48 ----------- 2(9+3) 24 --------- (9+3) 24 ---- 12 2 -- 1 Or alternatively: 48 --------- 2(9+3) 48 --------- 2(12) 48 ---- 24 2 -- 1 So am I just doing it completely wrong?
  12. That's the one with Ricky Gervais, right? If it is, I liked that one too :) Anyway, just finished watching the Social Network. Pretty good movie, nicely made, I liked it.
  13. After reading all the other answers I realized my dumb mistake >.< [spoiler=What I did] 48/2(3+9) 48/2(12) 48/24 2 I realize now it was a mistake, and a dumb one at that.

I just went out for a run, gotta do something about my stamina, especially with PE next trimester probably focusing on running. Afterwards, helped my mother clear the weeds from between the sidewalk, a job that really needed doing; the sidewalk was starting to look like a jungle.
  15. I pulled off a part of a nail that I didn't cut like a week ago and it still kinda hurts. I prefer to just use my nailclipper weekly lol.

Is it acoustic or electronic? Either way, 2 sets must really take in a lot of space lol. Today was a bit strange, fun but strange nonetheless. It felt like, I don't know, like a hang-over but without the nausea and without having been drunk the day before. And now it's time to go to sleep. Report card tomorrow.
  17. Actually, you're already basically giving all the search queries when you make it into a riddle, just sayin'.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kspPE9E1yGM It actually comes out much better than you'd think lol.

Actually, I remember reading that that's not the cause of yawning and that people just aren't sure yet. I'm not sure about this though. But yeah, it's something strange.
  20. When people (try to) use difficult words/words from another language in their writing but write them wrong: per say, a last (alas)... Those two examples weren't even that difficult...

According to Wikipedia, a scammer can get 1 or 2 interested replies per thousand emails sent, making about 1000 dollars per scam. There are also multiple recorded cases of people either getting kidnapped for ransom (and in some cases killed if the ransom isn't paid) after going to Nigeria or committing suicide after being scammed. So this is actually more serious than one would think at first :/ It's all from Wikipedia, but every single claim has a citation.

All of them lol. I was with a few other people when it happened so we just put them all in my friend's bag and enjoyed them for the rest of the day, handing some of them out to other people we knew.

While we're on the subject of vending machine jackpots: at my school it's 80 cents for a can of coke. I pass by the machine and see there's already 60 cents in it, so I put 20 additional cents thinking I'd get a lot of discount on my can. I pushed the button and the thing went haywire, giving me like 15 cans or something :P Anyway, I've got an oral examination later, French. Wonder what it'll be like. Edit: went pretty well, not great but not bad either.
  24. I spend moments of silence either composing songs in my head or just listening to songs. Indeed very useful for those iPodless moments, which basically means the whole time at school for me :P

Well I know that there are other writings that mention the resurrection, but what I am asking is if there are multiple people who actually "recorded" the resurrection. Or whether it is just one author who said "This resurrection thing happened this way" and all of the other guys just mention "Oh, you know that resurrection that other guy talked about? Yeah well heres why it is so great" I'm pretty certain they all wrote the story from their own POV. I'm certain that John's version is different from the other 3, but I'm not sure about the 3.
