  1. Oh yeah, PvP wise warriors are looking awesome in 3.1. I've pretty much given up pvp since wrath came out since it's just not fun to play without a healer babysitting you, come the patch i'll probably get back into the arena. Would be nice to be able to make warrior/druid work again, although i'm thinking warrior/priest would be a pretty good counter to the dk/pally comp. Soon as dual specs come i'm trying out a prot pvp build.. it looks fun but it's a pain to respec and spec back between raids.
  2. Gratz on 80. Make the most of being OP in heroics before the nerf bat of 3.1 swingeth.
  3. Got myself a shiny new mount and a feat of strength with it: http://i44.tinypic.com/34flfz9.jpg We're going back tonight to finish off huhuran, emps and C'thun :D
  4. I actually fell asleep on our last naxx 10 lol.. during Kel'Thuzad. I got woken up to me dying to a void zone. To be fair, we'd done Sarth10, sarth25 and almost a full naxx clear back to back and it was about 2am. Guys on vent thought it was funny at least
  5. Never follow anyone on the safety dance. It's every man for himself when you're dancing since you can't rely on players actually being where they look on screen. Often it'll look like people get hit on my screen, but on their they're clear. It's amazingly easy though, just 1,2,3,4,3,2,1 over and over.. not like you need to remember a complex pattern. Malygos is annoying me. Only boss we havn't downed yet, i think it's because we're using 2 paladin healers which makes the vortexes tough. I think next attempt we'll swap out a paladin for a druid.
  6. A recommended server means it's low population, so yeah it's likely the old world will seem a bit deserted. Especially if you're just coming from RS where f2p lumbridge is packed. It's fairly empty on most realms now but gets busier as you get towards outlands and northrend. As for sites, i'd recommend wowhead.com for finding out about items and quests etc. The newcomers forum on the official forums seems pretty good. There's less trolling and idiots as the rest of the forums and people are generally willing to help there.
  7. Any tank that doesn't suck can tank noth. Really, the days of certain tank classes being better for specific roles are over.. pallys, warriors, dks and druids all have the tools to do anything tanking related. The only exception right now is Sarth 3D which favours DKs/bears. There really isn't much more to the Noth fight than a zergy DPS race.
  8. We tank him in the opposite corner of the entrance. Not right in the corner but just off the edge of that central square. And you only had two tanks in a 25-man raid? You really need 3 for patch or the DPS will be taking hatefuls, and one off-tank can't really handle all the adds on Noth. We usually take 3 tanks, on Noth it's fine with 1 MT on the boss and 2 for the adds.. you can get any plate DPS to grab stray adds and lead them back to the off-tanks if any get away.
  9. It gives you 150% of your haste rating not 150% haste. Right now i'm on 196 rating which gives just under 6% haste, 150% of 196 rating will give me just under 3% haste when it procs. Definitely a nice bonus, better IMO than the 4pc bonus. I wonder how it will scale though, since the more haste you have the more it's going to stack.. i use the meteorite whetstone which can proc to give 444 haste rating, so if that procs and the 2pc bonus procs i will get 960 haste rating or 30% attack speed increase (before diminishing returns which i assume haste rating has). Then there's flurry which, when over 30% crit, is basically a permanant 25% haste. I've never looked into it but i think flurry is additive to passive haste so it'd be 25% haste from flurry plus 30% haste from gear. Yeah, my two 3.6 speed two handers are gonna be swinging as fast as daggers :)
  10. There's usually an uneasy truce between horde and alliance around the hodir daily spot. Since they're the most completed and most time consuming dailies, it's the busiest place for both sides to be together in a contested zone. Generally if you keep yourself to yourself nobody will bother you, but fights easily start up. One time i started attacking one of those ice revenants and just as i hit whirlwind, another warrior charged in and got hit by my AoE (he didn't notice i'd tagged the mob). He thought i was attacking him so started attacking back, then another horde came to help me and some more ally came to help the otehr guy and it ended up around a 10v10 miniwar lol. World PvP can be way more fun than battlegrounds or wintergrasp.
  11. Thanks, was about to ask the same thing. That looks like a nice replacement to the ugly as hell titan panel, ACE3 support too I won valorous gloves yesterday in Voa, the day after i'd bought the heroes ones with badges -.- good game 60 badges and a few hundred gold in gems and enchant mats.
  12. ArP is being made not so useless in 3.1 so it's likely to be a stat worth picking up. A lot of the new stuff is being itemized with ArP so i guess they're confident it'll be a good change. Did you see that achievement to kill Yogg-saron in under 22 minutes? I'm sure it's just a placeholder time, but i'd love a long boss fight like that. Tbh blizz should make a boss like Pandemonium Warden in that final fantasy MMO, it'd stop the bleeding edge guilds complaining they've cleared everything after a week or two  http://petfoodalpha.com/1055/how-long-is-too-long
  13. Best controller ever imo. Well laid out and a decent size.. most controllers feel too small to me. I remember the first time i used the Dreamcast controller and the trigger buttons felt amazing, though i guess they're similar to the 360's now. I'll hall-of-shame the Atari Jaguars controller while i'm here: Such a clumsy uncomfortable design, especially considering the competitions controllers at the time; the sega megadrive/genesis and the SNES controller which is still one of my favourites.
  14. Oh god how i miss my old troll warrior, i had one years back before i quit and deleted it. I rolled a tauren this time since i'd never made one but it's so damned big, ends up taking up half my screen. I usually raid using savory deviate delight or pygmy oil so i take up less space. Also i think troll warrior is the rarest race/class combo in game.
  15. Just saw that on wowinsider.. best 3's match i've ever seen. I just wish they showed the mage in SK's face when he went down. Makes me wanna roll another mage, probably the most fun class to PvP with besides TBC warriors. It timed out as a draw, the Koreans were given the win because they caused the most damage.
  16. Look at his name, he clearly typed it with his face, i guess that's his playstyle too.
  17. ArP is their fix for arms damage? Seriously? Well i won't judge it until i see some real figures, i guess it's a simple way to improve arms damage in PvP and PvE without unbalancing things. The bad thing about ArP is the way it scales with things like sunder armour in a raid setting making it almost a waste of item budget when you get it on gear. 10% is a nice chunk though. Shattering throw looks good if it's baseline. If it's deep in Arms then it's just a poor mans Heroic Fury. The 5 minute cooldown and big rage cost is something i imagine will change before live. Heroic throw has a 1 minute cooldown and uses no rage, and if talented into Gag Order in the protection tree gives a silence as well, seems to suggest Shattering throw will be baseline or it's basically worthless compared to Fury and Prots options. *Edit* Wait whaat? "Removes all invulnerabilities". If that can pop a paladins bubble it might be a skill to get excited about :3 On stance changes: 5% increased damage instead of 10% is good i guess, nothing amazing. The defensive stance change took me a bit by surprise. Warriors are already well behind DKs on mitigation, particularly magic damage mitigation; the 10% damage reduction reduces physical and magic damage by 10%, with this change warriors will be taking 5% more magic damage putting us further behind DKs. I havn't been following DK updates to be honest though for all i know they may be gettin nerfed harder. *Edit 2* OK this is for outgoing damage apparently, so it's just a straight up threat buff for tanks. to be honest i forgot defensive stance even gave an outgoing damage penalty. I saw this post from Ghostcrawler this morning: So i guess there's still a lot of things to be tweaked. Nothing groundbreaking yet though, but they're aware of warrior problems at least. Well that's my random first reactions. I shall go read tankspot and see what others think.
  18. Yeah fury is in pretty good shape for raiding right now. In our naxx runs i'm often fighting for #1 DPS spot with an unholy DK.. couple nights ago we were within 50dps of each other for a lot of the fights. There's something i love about the playstyle too.. on big trash pulls just diving into the middle of the pack headfirst and hitting whirlwind and cleave is so satisfying. Oh and yeah, those level 60 training dummies in org are great stress relief. This was from me spamming WW and cleave a while back, just after i dinged 80: EDIT: oh and also, being flasked + outgearing all the other DPS in a heroic = pure win: [hide=][/hide]
  19. I tried watching that Hodir stream; they'd run through the instance for 10 minutes, buff up, server would crash and they'd be outside the instance when they logged in again. I watched it happen about 5 times before i gave up and went to bed.
  20. That sounds so disturbingly like AoC. It's not a DDoS, just their servers can't cope with the amount of traffic.
  21. The new rogue set is... strange. When i first saw it i thought "what the hell is that?", but it's kinda growing on me. Certainly unique looking. The warrior set looks like it'll suit my tauren well too, it didn't look too good on the human model i saw it on but i never really was a fan of the way humans look in wow.
  22. Yeah i know they're still planning to do something about stance penalties which will probably balance it, and i'm sure the 10% figure will change before it goes live, just seems that they should be making us scale less with gear and more with abilities.. this change seems to be aimed at balancing fury for t9 but will unbalance gear levels below it. On a more positive note.. i'm looking forward to this new arena thing. New mounts, titles, achievements and pvp objectives look promising.
  23. On the current PTR titans grip is getting a -10% damage debuff :< I really hope this goes the way of the hit penalty since while we do good DPS, we're hardly destroying the meters. I'll copy/paste what i wrote on tankspot since i can't be bothered to retype it: This change probably makes sense when looking at a tg warrior decked in full ulduar gear. The way we scale with gear likely means we'll be head and shoulders above every other class without this nerf. The problem is it will negatively affect every warrior in lesser gear.. the less geared you are the more painful this will be. Currently i'm decked in heroic blues and epics as well as the best in slot crafted epics and i feel i'm perfectly in balance with other classes of my gear level, naxx geared players will out dps me, i'll out dps undergeared players and i'll be on a level playing field with other people of a similar gear level. However if this change goes ahead i'll lose 200-300 dps, that's before figuring in the rage lost from lower damage which will put me well behind the curve. I understand the change as a way to counter our insane gear scaling at higher gear levels, but it's a totally cack handed fix. it would be far better to make us scale less with gear.. have us start out with higher dps from abilities, talents ands rotations with less improvements from gear, but this 10% nerf makes the gap between an undergeared and overgeared warrior even bigger. (note, this is QQ based on what it's like right now. I'm assuming(hoping) there is more to come for warriors in future builds that'll make up for this in some way.)
