  1. As opposed to RC, Cons, Agility, Herblore, Thieving, Crafting, Fletching, Hunter, Mining, Smithing, Fishing, FM, and WC without the use of minigames or bonus xp?
  2. Hybrid/All armour is apparently really funky [qfc]299-300-794-65108861[/qfc]
  3. Custom built is the way to go. You have so much more control over your specs and the prices are pretty much always cheaper than a similar factory model (anywhere from 10-30%). This is a good site to give you a rough idea of what you can get with your money.
  4. You're forgetting that people that resort to those things are deluded in regards to what is socially acceptable.
  5. My only gripe with interesting ideas is that Jagex will never implement them. Q go make a new game for us to play.
  6. Everywhere is a game, Q. It's all around us.
  7. I thought thread necroing was discouraged However, I declare myself currently winning for posting in this 5hr and 10 minute dead thread.
  8. You should teach me how to DG :D
  9. What is the peak XP that can be reached on an ideal task with high-end gear, both combat and slayer? For pure combat experience, are there any faster options? How fast are they?
  10. Dammit Q you're supposed to give me time to finish my strange rock statue first
  11. Well I guess chain can be good against stabbing so long as it is riveted, but still prone otherwise. I'll admit my only point of reference is watching Deadlist Warriors where they did a weapons test against a set of chainmail. I should have instead said cheaper when compared to plate. That all said, plate>chain in pure defensive effectiveness (so stuff like mobility and weight aside). Blunt force weapons did better against plate than swords the like, but they absolutely wrecked people in chain. Poleaxes and halberds were especially effective since the user could take advantage of rotational acceleration to drive a pointed part to puncture the armour or deliver extreme amounts of force (and realistically, there weren't many things that could stand up to that).
  12. From a RL perspective, chainmail was actually terrible for doing anything but stopping slashing attacks. In pre-EoC Jagex already logically implmented a natural weakness to stabbing attacks, but the increased defence against crush was totally bogus. Looking at actual chain mail, it's not designed to spread blunt force over a large area. It's definitely a step up from just being naked or wearing normal clothes, but in reality most of the raw force is still going to get through. Chainmail was generally used as just a simple, cheap, and lighter anti-slash type armour. Platemail was actually much better suited against blunt forces because the armour would deform, absorbing blows instead of your ribs and again contrary to RS logic, it spread out the force over an area better than chain because it remained more rigid overall. Users would also have either full chainmail suits underneath their platemail or at the very least at their joints, where they needed flexible protection. On those points I have two musings: Armour and weapons are really heavy and can be unwieldy. Perhaps we could have weapon/armour weights affect combat somehow, like decreased adrenaline gains/greater consumption. Since running is especially weird in RS and you pretty much never care about it during combat, it would be nice if weights would actually affect more than just energy. We'd also have another reason to train agility since it'd effectively be a combat support skill like herblore and prayer. All armour should degrade imo. Have it so that a greater smithing level can increase the durability of the armour and tweak it to be lighter or heavier for differing combat effectiveness.
  13. I like this, but only if we get more options to use prayer as a resource instead of just damage soak like the old spirit shields used to do. Next tie-in with the Eastern Lands???
  14. I just hope the farming content gives players a nice exclusive benefit, not another lame way of making an extra few GPs and getting a little bit of XP every day like flasks and bakriminel bolts. I may or may not be speaking with the bias of someone with 99 farming.
  15. There's a FC where people call out active rocks on different worlds. Since you can immediately hop to the world of a friend instead of waiting for the delay between server changes it's pretty fast.
  16. I'm a noob at stats. How did you do this calcuation?
  17. But it is a war worth fighting so it's not awkward at all
  18. Alternative is the asterisk (*) on your number pad.
  19. According to Wiki there are a maximum of 26 building upgrades for port score, but I only count 24 assuming you get at least one of each building that has multiple options.
  20. To be pedantic: Void, Slayer Helm (and pieces), and those SoF helmets Is the extra 0.7% crit on ASN worth taking over Fury prayer bonus? Are mage weak tasks even worth maging against if you have T80 melee and ranged weps?
  21. Bodies of water look funny or have weird perspective now: [hide] (Not my screenshot) [/hide]
  22. I don't have more port score :/ I only have 2 90s Which shipwright should I get? Also HTML5 looks nice, but makes all large bodies of water look silly
  23. Mass footsoldiers are just awesome. So long as you have just one or two scouts and then a heavy unit or two, your force is remarkably annoying to kill. It's also mostly immune to bombard attacks and they're worth fewer points anyway. Stoicism and shield wall are just too good on these guys, but I can't decide which one I like better (since I still believe BC+Charge+Chastise is the core of any ability setup). Stoicism is more flexible, but also costs more points. Shield wall is better for dealing with champs and suspected BC rushes. It's hard to say if this strat will prevail over the incredibly strong 6 scout + 2 Champ + FS + Hally setup. Doesn't seem to be a strat that can reliably beat it yet. This game is too hard for me and unsuprisingly I've only been able to play against the same customers who just whoop me over and over. I don't think my approach of just spamming different variations of unit setups is working very well since I don't think I'm actually learning from my mistakes. It's one of the reasons why I never got good at chess despite finding the game very interesting. The look ahead, move counting, and meta analysis were just over my head and I didn't find a good way to get past these issues. I never found the will to invest enough time into actually getting good at the game and I'm starting to feel like that's what's happening with Conquest. Also I'm bad at counting and mess up some of the most obvious piece moves. I recently completed my 3rd full set of elite void + helmets (dumping about 200 PC points into prayer prior to that to help with my 95 prayer). Gonna give it a rest now. I don't need another set and it's looking like void is going to be made obsolete with the new offensive armour update.
  24. Now if they were only useful
