two acronyms that confused me for the longest time were ftw (for the win) and imho (in my honest opinion). When people said these I used to think they were cussing at me :lol: I still cant figure out what (h) means. I was told once but the connection between (h) and what it means was so obscure that I can't remember it.

If you click on a book rapidly as your running you won't change back. just wondering, could you explain this? I tried running as a monkey, quickly clicking on "A" book(one that you open and read)... but it wasn't working... coulda been due to the lag caused by the download I have going right now though :roll: You go to ardy south bank, near the bank theres a book in a building. Go to the tree near the same bank and turn to a monkey. Click far off the mini map and rapidly click the book while you run and continue running and clicking the book. It's very hard to continue moving without changing back I believe that's considered bug abuse. Funny as it is, I'm not going to add it to the main post as I don't want to get into any trouble. It's not considered a bug abuse unless you use it for your personal gain (not 100% sure but pretty sure). And they fixed it anyway. From what I have seen, JAGeX considers anything that makes the game function in an unintended way to be bug-abuse.

I can tell you from personal experience that even the best PC Groups cannot hold a world for more then 1.5-2 hours. Once you get people in there that start ruining the game it goes downhill and you have to switch. What happens is something I call the interference syndrome. People who disrupt the games in such a way that a group of players no matter their level cannot keep it going. You will generally see them doing things like closing the gates so nobody can get out or standing right in front of a portal (where they can get surrounded so that nobody can get in to kill spinners). Sometimes you lose just because you have so many of them that each boat trip contains maybe 2-3 good pcers and about 22-23 people who just run around doing nothing but helping the game into the gutter. An official world cannot work because it gets so over flooded with people who do nothing but hinder the games, that those who want to help everyone win can't make a difference. We quickly discovered that fact with world 78.

Haven't done this one myself but I have seen it done: Take a rubber chicken and have a friend stand in falador square wearing three rare items with a bunch of nightshade (or the dwarven rock cake from RFD). Whack them and every time you whack them have them eat it. As you do this your friend can scream out things like "Oh no durial has come back to haunt us" or "oh no the wilderness has annexed falador!". I have however done this one: Have an annoying friend who brags about how they runecraft so much faster then you cause they use the abyss and you don't? Here is what you do. Get at least 2 essence pouches (I used small and medium) and the gear required for getting into the altar along with any other gear you would bring while runecrafting. Fill your pouches and your inventory with essence and challenge your friend to a race. Both of you start at the altar and you each craft your essence to make sure you aren't cheating. Here is where you have some fun. 1. Craft whats in your inventory 2. Pull the essence out of your smallest pouch and craft it as well 3. Leave the altar as your friend teles (with essence still in your pouch) 4. Immediately head back into the altar 5. Take essence out of larger pouch fill up your small pouch and put the rest back in the large pouch 6. When your friend gets back call them a slowpoke, when they call you a cheater say no way watch this. Then pull ess out of one pouch, and craft then repeat on the other 7. They can even check you if they want, you will have all the runes you would normally create for that run. And since you crafted twice each time, it will look as though you actually crafted an inventories worth.

I started in December of 2001, so yea I am an old-timer. I miss rs classic, but I wouldn't go back to it. Runescape just has too many awesome new things to go back to classic.

Nice to see other peoples comments. Yes this would be like the gift cards you get in other online games where it is a confirmation code that you type in, not a real card. Something nice for Christmas or a birthday to give to someone as gift.

How many of you have a friend or family member that you would like to get members for but it is such a hassle since it isn't your account. Perhaps you don't find it a hassle, but still think it would be nice to get them something as a gift. I was sitting and thinking today, and realized it would be nice to be able to purchase membership gift cards. JAGeX could set-up a system where by you purchase the gift card and print out/write down a confirmation code. Then when the giftee opens their gift, they can take the code, type it into a confirmation area on the runescape main page and get membership for however long the gift giver paid for ($5-month, 10$-2 months, etc...). Other online games that have used things like this in a highly successful manner. It increases the ability for people to get members. Not only do parents and friends get a chance to give a fellow Runescaper a nice Christmas gift, but JAGeX implements something that is profitable for them. Well lets see here... there was that one time that went something like this: Friend: omg a JMod...i'm gonna lick them and see if they taste like chicken Me: no don't lick the JMod!!! Well instead of sending it to my friend I sent it to a PMod on my list...who just so happens to be my sister. Needless to say the room next door to mine instantly filled with laughter. I then preceded to bash my head against the computer screen.

well nothing weird has happened to me though I did once dress up like a pirate and start giving items to whomever was willing to say "arrrgh matey" to me.

December of 2001 so about 5 years. This game has changed alot since then.

for me I love learning various histories, so I loved the story line and have done many quests simply to see what the history behind them was. (no I am actually quite a bit older than a 10 year old thank you very much).

Point = you spent millions more to get something with the same defense... I don't factor the hammers into torags set, they stink. I use a whip, much better.

affliction has been a great group with a chance to gain levels...but for me what did it as the excellent community, almost like a huge gathering of friends.

actually I do...apparently the owner of the penguin didnt set up a copyright...you can see evidence of that without even looking around by all the myrad penguin spoofs, this is simply another penguin spoof. If you don't have anything worthwhile to say, it would be best not to say it at all, I don't rip things and I am greatly offended by people who just jump the gun and shout out ripper at the slightest similarity with something else. I didn't put all that effort into it to have to defend myself against someones assumptions that I steal on a whim. This penguin was no more copyrighted then your avatar or your signature. whatever the case, I am going to bed now...if you have something nice to say, or some constructive critisism on how to improve my style than that is of course welcome, otherwise there is no reason to post.

do regular spyware/adware scans as those can slow your computer down greatly.

did you get permission to put that spinning thing in your avatar, or to have a likeness made of a JAGeX created character? I would appreciate it if you wouldnt start jumping all over something just because you can, I spent 20 minutes going in frame by frame to make it look like I wanted. Constructive critisism is fine, flaming is not.

would you like to see ever frame...I have each individual one...I took the penguin and added in all those effects (dagger, letters, damage, etc)...the whole point was to make something funny off an old internet classic

yes, I enjoy a text based game every now and then. I have played kings of chaos and arenascape as well as yapquest. Then there was cleft of dimensions (a text MUD) quite fun actually.

tell me about it, I mean if I started fishing and my fishing gear started floating above my head, I would get a little worried.

you have to have a waterskin to drink water or you will die of dehydration in the desert, yet if you arn't in the desert you can go for years without any water at all. Seafood heals your wounds better than bandages. when you smelt bars you stick your entire body inside the opening of the furnace, I would think that would hurt a little bit. if you fail to pickpocket a person you get stunned, then you can walk up after you are no longer stunned and successfully pickpocket them (even if they are looking right at you).
