  1. Axe: Smoothness: The line work seems controlled but there are parts that really need to be fixed, such as the dent at the right hip. The legs seem a bit deformed. There is also a rounded head but that's your style, everything else has nice linework. 7/10 Shading: While the shading does make the character seem 3D, it narrows into thin lines of lightness, where there should be more areas of ligthness than just a line. This is important because the character's armor shading makes it look pyramidical or conical with a thin top righter than a rounded flat top. It is missing in some parts such as the feet and hands where there is little contrast of lightness and darkness. The shield seems to be rounded but since it's trim is supposed to be wood it's a bit too shiney to be shaded that way. The amulet also doesn't produce a cast shadow on the chest, but the ammy itself was done quite well. 8/10 Charechter: No doubt of what the pic shows. 5/5 Overall Opinion: The shading can be perfected, but it's on the right path. Just don't forget to shade everything else with contrast too. The linework made your character different from your other sigs which was a surprise, but you pulled it out pretty ok. The head is a bit disproportionally smaller compared to the rest of the body but not too bad. Total - 80% Kenny: Smoothness: The line art is good, more on the left character than on the right one because the shoulder pads on the right one seem a bit flat, the lines weren't completely cleaned (sorry I do the same, but this is a comp), and the head is a standard circle tool. 8/10 Shading: The shading on the left character just seems arbitrary with the left to right change of lightness, not much logic was used into considering the 3D form of the character and a real light source. The right character is much better at shading because one can see the roundness of all the parts of the body (the left arm on the right person is a bit off on shading). I think too many shades were used and they made some things shinier than they should be. 6/10 Charechter: No doubt of what the pic shows. 5/5 Overall Opinion: The linework is fine, just work into making your shading more logical and realistic, taking the 3D form into account. (no score) Total - 76 Final comments: Tough competition, hope you guys enjoyed playing in it. :) I think if Kenny made the line art, and Axe shaded the blank sigs, your colab work would really show the best of both sides. Good luck with sigmaking. :) X-man
  2. Welcome to tipit. :) I think you are referring to the pixel sigs. Just open MSpaint and draw on it with the pencil tool, then color inside the spaces with the bucket tool. Shade by using darker colors every time. Good luck with sigmaking. :) X-man
  3. I'll donate more in the future once I know for sure these competitions work as they're supposed to. :) Yes, sign me up as one of the contestants, but probably the only time I can play is friday afternoon.
  4. Nice blending of a pic into a BG without making it look copied pasted, good text too.
  5. Keep the prize, I want to draw in a competition where more people follow the concept for a harder challenge lol.
  6. Nice silhouetting (sp?) with dark colors on light background. Keeping it simple but good. Glad you used a black border for your final sig you're using. :)
  7. Hehe those animated sigs are funny, looking forward to seeing more of them. :D
  8. Shake shake shake, nice original movement in your sig. 8.5/10. :)
  9. Nice man, good you got into something you love to do. :) Hopefully I'll catch some of your work in the future.
  10. The only reason I didn't put more detail was because I ran out of time drawing multiple noobs like the original idea requested: I figured my quality wouldn't be so bad compared to others as everyone would have time wasted drawing multiple noobs instead of one good noob. No offense, but aren't we supposed to follow the original prompt, which I see only Lord and I have added more than one noob? :? Don't get me wrong, the other sigs are quite nice with good quality but they don't really nail the original concept - a must for sigmaking.
  11. The first pic is pretty funny but because it's so obvious it was set up it kills some of the humor. There's a funnier real rs pic of a drunken dwarf yelling "I hates you Zezima" to zezima, it's on the boards somewhere.
  12. Good luck to you both, don't forget to have fun. :) I think I'll judge too. :)
  13. Bloody nice. Great simple out-of-this-world look on a known object. :)
  14. Not much shading, the edge of the blade contrasts oddly with the black background. 5/10.
  15. Green Party Hat + Full Guthix Rune for poi's sig. The buyer was supposed to pay 1.5 mill or 1 mill for the sig but liked the sig so much she wanted to give me a surprise gift. She doesn't go on RS much as much as I'd like so I could get to know the generous person better, but I have tried to follow her footsteps in donating large amounts of gp. Gave my last 2 mill to the tipit xmas drop party because I didn't need it then, some gifts here and there, and I get ripped all the time in the market because I never know prices. (2005 posts)
  16. Most sigmakers start with free sigs. Sacrifices must be made for fortune in the long run. If you are serious about sigmaking and will try your hardest, you will eventually make good gp for them if you are willing to spend time on sigs that may sell for less than they look to be worth.
  17. Nice, I like the dragon and the rune guy. Good perspective and angle, I don't like the BG and ground much though. Maybe darken the sky and add a bit of texture on the ground, or more objects? About the price, no one started at more than 100k I'm sure. It really depends on how well people trust you in sigmaking and if the sig appeals to the buyer. Don't worry, in time you'll sell for higher prices. :) First sig sold from me = 10k gp. Good luck with sigmaking, looking forward to more of your work. :) X-man
  18. Thanks for the randomness. I like your idea of the challenges, great exercise for creative people. :)
  19. Some of those sigs are quite cool. Good luck with shop. :)
  20. Good character, I think the tip of the arrow is a bit big now but it's a nice symbol of power and discouragement.
  21. Good luck with shop, nice sigs. :) Please don't do brushed pixel sigs
  22. Ok I kept going on scape board instead of SB lol, found the room, cool.
  23. Again, I don't know anything about PC art, but that looks cool. :)
  24. Lol this sounds fun I'll try it out. :D
  25. The profile face and the food one are both very cool shaded ones. :) http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?iacfgl1ct2ec I can't find anything interesting to draw from RL around the house...
