It's Super Effective!

Well 1 def pures are gone. Def is suddenly useful. I don't mind people finding the levels where they get the most benefit for the lowest combat. What I mind is how pures can completely ignore def and get away with it. If the new pure is say, 50 def or something, I don't mind that because they're at least getting some def levels. Add the HP boost on armour and I'm sure the game will be a lot more balanced. Also, I cbf to do the event. For some reason I'm just not interested this year. Also, should get 96 summon from the bxp weekend. And roughly 20m down the drain. Totally worth it. -

Fake. Obviously photoshop. @alg - none. That was the joke. Now I had to explain it to you, so it's ruined. Since we need more cute cat pictures here and since I cbf to reupload it, here's a link: http://static.tumblr.com/lsuaio0/0pjm520gr/happy-kitten-kittens-5890512-1600-1200.jpg -

Yes but livid farm is called livid farm because the grind makes people livid with rage. It's like saying "it's 100x more fun then getting punched in the balls!" Also, am I the only guy sort of looking forward to EoC? At the very least, the thought of the combat triangle being balanced excites me, same for making def useful enough to ruin pures. -

Shiiiiiiiiiit. I didn't read carefully enough. The 1% mage bonus each offers is better then the slightly worse mage att and def. I blame tiredness lol. Well, I might lose money selling them, but w/e. Still 60m or so ahead :P EDIT: Hmm. Not sure how much bonus the 1% will be, virtus boots/gloves have other things going for them, and they should be strictly better come combat update. Not saying I should keep them, just that there are reasons too. Plus, I'm tired. I should figure this out when I'm awake. -

Ah. Looks sexy. Also got Pernix Cowl from instakill dart. And after selling my h'ween like a week ago I got virtus head/top/bottom, the cowl gets me boots and gloves. Woo. Yeah I know it's not that good but I like maging and I'm hoping combat evo will change it. Also leaves me with 40m to waste on summon on bxp. Any good GW bosses to mage? Lol. -

This. And for the record, Jad, Fremnik Sagas and other bosses aren't required to max. Even then, beating Jad/Bosses/Fremnik Sagas without sound doesn't seem that impressive to begin with. (Slightly harder then normal, so slightly more impressive, but not something hard enough to brag to random strangers about.)

So is the squeal of fortune gone now?

No. No, it isn't. -
This reminds me-- what reasons do you guys have for not wanting to "share" your significant other? I could understand STDs and pregnancies, but those can be avoid if you're sexually responsible. Is the main reason just to make things harder on yourselves and therefore somehow make your marriage "better" if you can overcome even more challenges? Or is this just a jealousy thing? My main argument has always been-- your happiness goals have to be coherent with reality. Reality, in this context being, there's about a 13% chance that you're "qualified" to even make a marriage "work," and if you are, it'll be "boring" (again, "boring" is subjective). Even if you're in that 13%, you're still basically betting your long-term happiness and financial stability on a coin toss . Even if you, RPG, are in the "boring" category (which I don't think you are), this isn't a very smart or realistic "goal" to set for yourself. Obfuscator could go without sex for the rest of his life at any given time. Can you? Or he just uses the knowledge earned here to make sure he marries someone similar and try and find someone within that 13% itself? And random thought, could it be the case that a marriage of someone within that 13% is far more likely to succeed because they are likely to find someone within that 13% as well?

So, I think I suck at pvm worse then zaaps? I died in 5 minutes at glacors with full virtus, trying to ss flash, with unsummoned pony and brews in invent. With the use of brews I stay alive, barely, altho it's questionable sometimes at like 100lp. ffs. Also, I got a new mouse, and it's faster. Forget what I just said, I blame my mouse. -

Eh. I remember muggi bringing it up before and someone else basically saying "I think I'm in that 13%." (The essence of what that person said, not close to the words that person used.) I said "it may have been you" which was more of a guess on my part lol. Must've been someone else then.

I realize there's a severe risk that I'm overdoing it with my example, but here goes. Girl is in abusive relationship, doesn't really make her truly happy, yet she says she still loves the guy and wants to stay with him. It's objectively obvious that she would be better off without him. Yet she reacts angry and violently to the suggestion of breaking up or something along those lines. Now, I apologize in advance for using such an extreme example. But could this to a lesser extent be the case with people and monogamy? They're happy when it works, but when it fails, which statistically seems highly likely, they get very sad. When you think about it, most people go through many relationships before they get married, and often the end of the relationship makes people sad and angry and bitter towards each other. (Not all the time - there can be healthy breakups where it's mutual and they stay friends afterwards. Mutual as in mutual, not mutual as in one person wanted to break up and the other person agrees.) Personally, the big issue I have with polyamoury is marriage and kids. More specifically kids. When I eventually have kids, I want to have kids in a partnership with one woman where we raise them together, because I believe that would be best for the child. Not sure how Muggi's polyamoury would work here. I have a few ideas towards your question towards muggi, obfuscator, but I want to wait and see what muggi says. One thing tho - he's brought up the low sex drive thing and 13% of marriages up in the past. Last time he did it, someone, which may have been you, basically responded with "I think that describes me."

Hallowe'en Treat: Scary Bonus XP Weekend!
Sir_Squab replied to Matt258's topic in General Discussion
That's been pointed out more times than I can remember. The point which was trying to be made was that by doing summoning on this weekend instead of other skills, you save more time than other skills. Let me try explaining it as it still doesn't seem to have been understood fully. I save up 20k charms and use them on this weekend. Using 5k an hour I can use them up in 4 hours and save a ton of time collecting the charms from the "Doubled" experience. The difference between summoning and money using herblore as an example here, is that money is tradable. I don't have to camp a monster for 100 hours to get 4 hours worth of training (assuming 200 charms per hour) if doing herblore. I could be a rich gambling host or clan leader making over 100M an hour. I could get a ton of cash within a few hours at the Duel Arena. Gaining a large amount of cash fast is much easier than gaining a lot of charms fast. That is one of the arguments against doubled summoning exp. How is the fact that a tiny percentage of players can make 100m+/h while 0% of players can make 3k+ charms per hour a meaningful difference? Imo, summoning is in more or less actually in the same boat as herblore to the vast majority of players. Prayer if 2x exp stacks with altars/ecto, which Jagex never really made clear... You DO realize that can apply, to a greater or lesser extent, to half the skills in the game? Herblore being a noteable example, prayer if 2x exp stacks with gilded altar/ecto, smithing, crafting, for example, are all expensive skills that are fast to level providing you actually have the supplies. -
Hallowe'en Treat: Scary Bonus XP Weekend!
Sir_Squab replied to Matt258's topic in General Discussion
Actually, the more I think about it, the more balanced summoning seems. The big issue for summon, or herb, is that some people get lucky and will have a stockpile of herbs or charms when the announcement is, and other people get screwed because they didn't, or even worse because they just used it. It's bad with say, mining too tho, because if someone spends 20 hours mining to get 99 (this hypothetical person was 20 hours away from getting 99) then they got screwed as well. The big issue is that if you say, spent 30 hours collecting charms collecting charms the past month, you've saved 30 hours. Why is saving 30 hours a bad thing? Because the exp weekend isn't that long. A lot of players, imo most players, won't be on for 30 hours that weekend. -
