  1. The same way that people enjoy shi- I mean, SOAD.
  2. Which is to say if you dont get any information, dont watch the animu. Youll get even less information from it.
  3. The OP to LS is pretty good, actually. And the EDs (>13) were always great that Shiraishi sang various KyoAni songs. And as far as plot goes, it doesnt particularly matter. Its about a socially inept otaku, twin shrine maidens (one whom is moe and the other tsundere), an oppai megane, a moe moe imouto, an american weeaboo and a doujinshika with a thing for her friends. Whatever spawns from that is somewhat worth watching atleast. And watch past the first episode.
  4. SET FAIL FOR ONE PIECE. And try to watch something other than shounen powerlevel junk. Spending 5 episodes charging your power in AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and then using 30 seconds of the next episode to actually fight is barely entertaining. Watch some slice of life animu if you find it confusing, theyre often portrayed alot closer to home (Home, of course, being Japan). Though choosing something like Lucky Star or Minami-ke may be going overboard, you wont understand a lot of it unless youre familiar with Japanese culture. Try something like Moyashimon, its about a boy who can see microbes, but its a lot better than it sounds. Also has a good OP/ED.
  5. Actually, I believe they thought it was more of a pear shape. Though im not absolutely positive that was the shape they believed it was, they didnt actually think it was flat.
  6. I fail to see how 4chan managed to slip into the equation, but portal related; Now do it, science, I want to see the world collapse onto one spot. Even if only to prove that we can do it.
  7. Actually I believe they bend it, rather than breaking it. That being said, scientists have been able to "reverse" light (not just by using a mirror, hurr), but to make the light stop and go back to its source. I like to see how different people react to the invention of invisibility though. The army? Oh [garden tool], now we can kill people easier. Scientists? What a breakthrough! Normal people? Awesome, now we can sneak into womens changing rooms! Science never fails to amaze, and thats a problem.
  8. Why does anyone particularly care if it is "pervy"? Oh sweet lord I saw her panties, I must cleanse my eyes in a bath of fire and daggers. And I would like to call you a filthy liar, sir, and I will do so because of your belief that american VAs can be better than the original seiyu. And I will again, because there is never any time that this statement is true.
  9. 1. Weed makes things more funny 2. Pineapple Express is a special strain of weed they have in the movie. The entire movie is based around weed so it makes sense to me to get high before you see it. Do I need to go out and fight crime before I go see the dark knight, then? Cause I got this awesome costume lined up with a really catchy catchphrase to say when I stumble upon crime. Oh man, this is gonna be awesome. Yes, yes you should. Or maybe you're just an idiot. Or maybe youre just losing the game. And by losing the game I mean getting trolled.

  11. Im pretty sure thats how american comedy works, you know, otherwise its not funny.
  12. Not to sound finicky, but Japanese itself doesnt strictly have an accent. Theres only one set way to say things in Japanese (of course, different dialects may use different vocabulary etc). Observe; Its just that English has too many sounds and they cant get their mouths around them. For instance, Japanese doesnt have an L sound, so they have to use an R instead (same for V and B, respectively). Of course, their grammar is also complete lolwut compared to ours, so they say things wrongly. Though im sure what youre talking about is the stereotypical goofy "Herro, you are the English speaker? I practice speak with you, yes?" speaking.
  13. of course! what perfect logic! I darent even touch kanji atm, I know all the hiragana (it took a long long time) and about half the katakana. The books I'm using have most of the vocab in kana, with the romanji next to it. Its just a useful stepping stone to help the transition. If you had to refer back to the list of kana every time you forgot one just for one word it would just be plain annoying. Right. Remembering the kanji itself isnt too hard, its remembering what it means is the hard part. Plus im learning a bit of vocab and kanji using furigana (where the hiragana are next to the kanji, often found in shounen/shoujo manga aimed at younger audiences). Something like this; But I would really recommend getting off romanji as fast as you can, youll never actually see it or use it and it can teach you bad habits with spelling and or pronounciation.
  14. Code Geass - Think Death Note but with robots. I agree its a good show, but not to that extent, you can often tell when something is about to happen thanks to LOLPLOTHAX. Spice and Wolf - I enjoyed it actually. The artwork was nice and had a different story to the norm. Horo is also incredibly moe~. ZnT - Yeah, its just fanservice. They veered so far from the actual story line now that they may as well just plow it into some sort of mountain made of boobs. LOLOL GUNDAM D. Gray Man - Havent watched it, but from your description of "bleach crossed with full metal alchemist", I think ill definately give it a miss. Haruhi no Yuutsu - Its alright, a bit of a LOLWUT series if you watch it in the order they aired it in, which you should do, otherwise theres not a lot to it. TTGL - LOL SUPAAAAAA DURILLUUUUUUU ATAKKUUUUUU Clannad - I liked Clannad, but then again, I enjoy those soppy stories. Which is odd because I wouldnt go to watch a film or watched a real drama about the same story line. Lucky Star - Again, I liked it, but probably because I understood a lot of the references and other culture differences. I wouldnt recommend it unless you do know about them, only half the jokes (if that) would make sense if you didnt. But if you do get the jokes, I recommend Hayate no Gotoku. And incase you didnt know, theres a new series of Mahou Sensei Negima! Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba and Lucky Star starting soon. (15th and 29th of August respectively.)
  15. Suman, I rarely write in romanji, its a bad habit I got out of as soon as I remembered the kana. Boku is also superior. And im not Japanese so yeah, boku wa igurisujin. (Actually I bet thats wrong, seeing as igirisu is the UK and not England.) My vocab is also poor, im attempting to learn the kanjis though. Made me lol when night + nightbreak = gall bladder. Not really, watashi is just blankly "I". Evil people often use watashi as it sort of masks what sort of person they are. Ore ("oh-reh") is something arrogant or masculine men use (and sometimes women) and boku is sort of in-between, tomboy-ish girls and often teenage boys. But real men use WARE WARE.
  16. Maan, stop trying to ruin it back.
  17. Haha, I meant Anime based around girls not necessarily in the sexual nature. But yeah, Yuri ... =P~ I have to say he was a strapping young man. He did it for the motherland aswell.
  18. walk away or walk towards? lol Away, man. Think outside the 360 degrees.
  19. I thought thats why they called it the 360. So you'd turn 360 degrees and walk away from it. Sort of a pre-purchase suggestion or something.
  20. In during Peter Crouch. in b4 whining about OMG 4CHAN IS FOR [bleep]S Though I must say ive tried all of the positions in the image (yes, including the far right, which is surprisingly comfortable) and I always end up with a cross between the foetus and freefaller, except with one leg under the cover and one out. Happy sleepless night fidgeting, kids.
  21. What? Theres no moments like that in Geass. There is "oh [garden tool], clever" moments, but I wouldnt say they go beyond that. Something by KEY will do that to you (and then force manly tears out of your very face). And the ending isnt "OMGWTF awesome", its "what the [bleep]ery that was a lame plot twist". I dont watch it, I managed to find out accidentally the other day.
  22. Im reassured in the fact that we've had this many posts about levels and no one dared to utter the words "over nine thousand". Until now, that is.
  23. Cant particularly pin down a favourite, but im enjoying reading Highschool of the Dead and Shingetsutan Tsukihime/MB. (Scanlations where?) And also any Touhou/Tsukihime doujins are generally pretty good aswell. Anime-wise, well, im currently watching Shakugan no Shana which is alright so far. Code Geass is also looking pretty good, reminds me of Death Note (before the LOL NEAR KNOWS ITS YOU half). Needs a good KEIKAKU DOORI moment soon, though. And I suppose I enjoyed SZS quite a bit, its something different and I really liked the art style to it.
  24. What made you think I like america? Also, its weeaboo.
  25. Post Removed ~ Shazarabbit MOD EDIT: English only on these forums please ~ Shazarabbit Also, watch better anime people. It goes way beyond Naruto/Bleach and POWERLEVEEEEEELLLLSSSSS. I imagine people enjoy watching it (as I do) because these animated shows go beyond all american cartoons (Spoilers; Family Guy/South Park suck). They have a much higher budget, theyre not all aimed at young children, they actually have a plot you can follow and because of that are somewhat more emotionally engaging. While I wont deny that shows like Animaniacs and Freakazoid (I especially enjoyed Candlejack) were awesome, they were aimed at children. And although I still find them funny, I am childish. But to put them up against big anime like EVA (oh wait, too deep) or SzS is unfair. And dont put the "Oh but you can learn nihongo (japanese) from watching it!" excuse in there either. You learn maybe 1 or 2 words a series, both of which are only said on their own and have no relation to anything. Of course, you may learn a short phrase, but itll probably "URUSAI BAKA YAROU" which you arent ever going to use without looking like a complete idiot (baka). Complaining about sexual content in anime is like complaining about fat people in america. Thats just how Japan rolls, yo. Mayb
