Timeline: Like castles, swordfighting, and massive battles? Read this book! ...and pretty much anything by Michael Chrichton. Except for Airframe and The Andromeda Strain.

I think Jagex has said that the maximum level is 99 because of some limitation in Java. They said that if they were to switch to a 3-digit level system it would require them to erase everyone's stats. I don't think very many people would like that.
