I saw someone outside the portal a few minutes ago selling rocking chairs 15k each. You can make stuff for other people's houses which they can put in without the level. So yes, you can make money.

What I did for my dad was show him the billing FAQ's where he saw that you could cancel your subscription right after you pay and you still keep the membership credit. That's what we do every month.

Cows are great low-hp kills (and hides are great source of income), also, white knights in the second floor, left-wing (area with the torture room) are pretty good for cursefailing, just keep clicking on them and wearing as much anti-magic armor as you can. It's kinda like the ring of wealth. It boosts your odds of a better harvest, but it donesn't mean your gonna get 12 everytime.

You get kalphites, which can be lvl 28 or the queen.

Get in a safe spot, use protect from range, and use the spells that he is weak to.
