In this tutorial you'll learn how to make Fakes. 1. For step number one, you'll need an idea. Try to make it humorous, somehow ironic, and originial. Don't do one that've you've already seen, and certainly don't directly copy someone's idea. If you find it hard to come up with ideas, just go around Runescape looking for situations that you find funny. 2. Once you have your idea, you'll need a basic background, a picture that you can begin to work off of. This is where you can position yourself, maybe get a friend to be in it too, and do any emotes you'd like in your fake. To do this, just press the "Prt Scr" button on the left side of your keyboard when you're ready. 3. Once you have your background ready, you can begin looking for little snips you want to put in your fake. Make sure you have the right angle and perspective on both your sprite and your background, or it could end up coming out really messed up. When you have your sprite, get out the paint bucket, and start whiting out the unneeded pixels in your sprite. If there's irregular surfaces in your background, such as planks, or stone walls, it'd be better to get the paint brush tool and manually remove them. 4. After you've done this to all of your sprites, you can begin placing them onto your background and interface. You should now turn your transparency to on, so no white shows up around your sprite. You can invert the colors, rotate the picture, and skew* your sprite how ever you like, these options are under "Image". If you are placing a sprite behind something or onto tall grass etc, make sure you have an extra copy of the area so you can cover the sprite to make it look more realistic. *The skew option usually ends up making your sprite a bit pixelated, so you can edit it to your needs. 5. Gratz, you are now done the in game graphics part, which is the hardest. Now that your done all of that, you can move onto the chatbox and in game text. To get the Runescape text, download it from http://www.box.net/shared/rnczqipb8y. Now check off "Save to Disk", and then "OK". Now go to your Start Menu, Control Panel, and then Fonts. Now minimize the window, and drag the .TTF file int othe window, and it should install. If it doesn't show up in Paint, then go back to the fonts window, right click on the RS font, hit Properties, and then choose to open the program with Paint. Once you have the font, you can start out by doing the chatbox. Type out what you want in Size 13 Blue, all five lines. Then lastly type your name with a colon, and a star (*). After that, select your text and place it onto the chatbox, and put it right up against the these alignments: Heres me doing it: Then, retype out all of the black text and place it ontop of where it should be. Once that's done, zoom in and replace the red aligners with the tan colors around them. If you would like some mod crowns, you can copy and paste them from this: 6. For this text, you should be using the same style as the chatbox, except it should be Bold. Type out your text in black first, and go to "Edit > Copy". Next, make more text area and go to "Edit > Paste", except this time make it yellow. If one of the character's text goes off the screen, then copy the interface (chatbox/mini-map/inventory) of where it goes over, and paste it on to cover the text once that is placed before. Make sure to put the yellow text exactly 1 pixel above the black text. If you have anything in your inventory, and need to put text in the top left corner of the screen, it is slightly different to do than the normal text. Instead of putting the yellow text 1 pixel above, you should put it 1 pixel to the left, and 1 pixel above. Once you have both the yellow and black text, get the paintbucket and recolor it all white, while coloring the item names orange. 7. Now you're done all of the text, so next up is the mini map. If you added in any sprites of NPC's or other players, you will need to add their dots to the mini-map. You can just copy and paste the dots from here: You can also add any walls etc. that you edited to the mini-map. 8. You're at the final step, so Congratulations on getting this far. If you want to add any items to your inventory, you can either get the items ingame and take a screenshot of that, or place pictures/ drawings of your items in your inventory and center them by your eye. 9. You are now officially done your fake. So now all you need to do is upload it to a site. Go to http://www.imageshack.us and click "Browse". Select your Fake from "My Pictures", and press "Host It", and it should take you to another page. It should have the codes of your Fake in all different ways, but you want to copy and paste "Direct Link to Image". Then go to whichever forum you want to post it on, and type "". You just made a fake, at any moment, someone should reply to your Fake and give some comments on it! 10.
