No offense, but it seems like you are traeting runescape as it is real life for several reasons. For one, you let a "friend" borrow an item on a game that you spent countless hours to save for expecting him to be a good friend online and give it back to you. Unfortunatly this wasn't the case. Secondly, although you did spend lots of time saving for it, you should'nt be that upset. Try to enjoy playing the game more. I have lost things worth more than those. Anyways goodluck.

Wow, this takes me back 5 years ago. I think I begged for a while, because then there were no guides to help people out and it didn't help that I was like 11 years old.

Definetly mining, havn't touched it in like 2 years since I got 71. It's no longer even a decent money maker and smithing isn't either. These skills need a rehauling.

If you do it on gold ores it costs about 70mil I believe, but I don't know how much it cost me since I didn't do it all at once. I can see why someone would not enjoy smithing, I think that it needs to be updated. It has remained almost the same since its introduction. I even have a thread in the runsecape forums about it. Update: I havn't played much last 2 days so next level might take a little longer.

I don't have enough gold ores atm, but I have enough money to buy them all. To the second question, I did sell my bank at the beggining and bought steel bars. Then I took a 1.5 month break to merchant and merchanted my way to a yellow phat and then decided to switch to gold ore. Thanks for the support.

People would have voted for varrok, with or without the graphics update. It's by far the most popular city because its been around for so long and it used to be the number 1 market city.
