When you start out the arc level voyages regardless of success or fail they gave you 2% in area completion. Now when you get arc level voyages when working on the skull area they count for 1%. So if things follow through arc level voyages when working on the hook region will probably give you 0.5%. They may even cut out the third tier voyages all together unless you focus on them. Also with me being at 75% completion of the skulls tonight ill get 15 voyages. That means two of them will be in the hook region. I don't think your numbers are at all right. My progression percentage has not increased by neat increments instead it seems to go in larger blocks for harder missions and smaller blocks for easier missions with fails giving almost nothing. Plus it makes no sense people unlocked Skull on day 2. That means 30 voyages max, by your logic they should've only hit 60% Ah crap you are right. Just trying to make sense of all this. After all I don't want to keep believing the world is flat and retain the fear of falling off the edge of the world.

I thin bad luck. Honestly you should be making sure to upgrade as much as possible with buying deck pieces first priority, rams second to last priority, rudder last priority and everything else between. Don't be like everyone else afraid to launch at 50-60 percent or using all your resources to upgrade. Also it seems that any arc voyage gets you 1% and skull voyages get you 2%. I'm expecting the hook to be something like arc = 0.5%, skull = 1%, hook = 2%. Definitely hitting the hook tonight. Miiight see two missions from it.

Finally got one of my scroll pieces. I figure ill try completing the melee set, then magic set then range set. For each set I plan on making the plate, legs then helm. After that ill start on the critical hit scrimshaws. The rest is just for xp gains later on or for my own fancy. Tetsu chestplate 1/4

Currently at 66% with 2 voyages out and 3 left which will land be at around 72-75% completion of the skulls. I think it's a good assumption we will barely get into the hook tomorrow night by only maybe one or two voyages left. Edit: I got a good hunch that after all is said, done the materials to make scrimshaws, soup and armors will only be attainable from special missions. Maybe the materials will come at ten pieces per mission?

For each ship probably especially for split requirement missions when deck stock and crew might be oddly split to meet demands.

Just send out my last two voyages tonight. I should be around 52% done after getting them in. I got a feeling we won't see the third area for another day. Also for those who don't know you are capped at 5 captains and 25 crew members. So I think for best progression would be to hold off on golem and speed buys for the end.

Never heard of tar-sealed barrels? Maybe there are barrel canisters inside the chest?

Inb4 the "rs is dying and that's why they are making more f2p servers p2p." I can't stand people who make these baseless comments. I ca barely stand the fact I'm stating this.

What does "survivor of five keelhaulings" do?

I'd advise against that actually, I bought him and actually saw no appreciable decrease in voyage time compared to having my dwarf engineer. There's probably a speed cutoff that determines how much time you can cut from a voyage. Also when dealing with all the insane requirements at the moment, there's usually not much space to slot him in :P I get the feeling speed stat will have greater effect once you are travelling further. After all the rudder slot is there purely for speed with +1800 on the top level and jagex wiki talks about purple-hatted speed crew that we don't seem to of seen yet. Yea that's what I'm worried about aswell. The longer voyage duration is an issue for me on work days - shorter trips might mean the extra voyage a day. This has been on my mind for the past few days. I mean I'll be lucky to get 2 voyages in when I get home from work, two maybe before sleeping, two when I wake up and bam they reset. I might be able to set another two on my break at work, but eh.... I don't know.

I was being stalkerish and tracking Moltares posts on the forums, apparantly they intended to allow you to have guests in your port but they simply ran out of time. Hopefully theyll add that and if they add cool group functions or trading or something that'd be nice too! Though to be honest, with the XP WASTE!!! community we have, most minigames are botted, the social ones have tumbleweeds and the dung groups I find arent great. I'm really glad we'll have guests eventually.

Tbh I think voyage time only matters when you can fit them in on end game voyages. Otherwise do your best to meet voyage specs. On another note two on my voyages failed tonight. Ship repairs, but that's it really. At the end of the day make sure you use all your rerolls to get those most out of your daily limit. Especially if you aren't confident in your set voyages or crew you want to hire.

Honestly I think as long as you are being progressive with ports it shouldn't be an issue. You should be able to do all of each regions missions, but yeah you'll fail. Just make sure you buy upgrades to your ship and crew accordingly for missions that mean most to your progression. You shouldn't be fearful and loafing in the easier islands because you are losing out on potentially better crew, resources and ultimately upgrades. So in the end its better to bruteforce it so long as your odds are favorable to you. In my eyes favorable odds are anything over 50%. You just need to make sure that you are putting your best forward for that voyage and expecting the worst. Last tidbit... Save your random event rewards for those special occasions.

Honestly it is too complex because crew stats and helpfulness are pretty much this: Crew profession: 90, 150, 350, etc. base morale, combat, speed, seafaring. crew personality: misc. bonuses to certain stats (i.e. "once punched a porpoise" giving extra combat points on purchase) Crew traits: further bonuses to stats or special abilities (i.e. eager, plucky, eagle eyed, etc.) Level: increases base stats by +10 per level. Honestly thinking about this I wouldn't be surprised to see someone create a program that lets you give in-put for all your crew (pretty easy, but transferring over some trait effects might be harder) and ship layout to calculate the best combination. I would imagine it looking like any other calculator. Drop down boxes for highest useable ship gear. Next in-put all complete crew stats (50 potential crew members was assumed earlier in the thread). Maybe a check box for solidarity?

You might be right, but I'm speaking purely for getting the best chances of succeeding the next days scroll voyage.

Damn nice scroll piece. I think one tactic people might want to start doing is holding off on upgrades and crew hires for the day until the next voyage release. The logic behind this is if you find a scroll voyage then you can select the most useful ship upgrades and crew thereafter.
