  1. Starting to use up some of my voyages to get the remainder of the renovated bar upgrade reqs. I'm also pretty close to buying the spacious warehouse (459 more cherry wood). After that I'll let me random low level port missions play out and collect for the renovated lodgings. My biggest interests are getting 8k cherry wood for the fourth ship and all scythe crew post-bowl. That way all the jade I get can be spent on the fourth ship and maybe a totem.
  2. Everything comes to an end eventually and ports don't have nay exceptions to this rule of existence. Seems you're just a bit perturbed that its quite high end because it was made well understood it wasn't a skill in the first place.
  3. I am still fairly certain of a faction skill... Something not of the ordinary as a skill.
  4. This post intrigues me. Why exactly does it matter where this post goes? 'Cause no one ain't got time for pre-apocalyptic ramblings - in real like or in virtual reality for that fact! No one is making this into an apocalyptic anything except maybe the people who don't want to discuss it. The saying food for thought comes to mind. Add me on rs Kim :).
  5. There was a blurb about possibly letting us guess who ascends to god hood next for a prize. I'm guessing a hapless goblin raider wanders into a beam of power that some malicious dark entity was mustering for himself.
  6. I'm curious if building two or more of a certain totem will stack effects.

  8. Eh regardless I'm not that concerned.
  9. Only because he made a lucky call on the way randoms rolled rewards really. A really good call on the random system really... Other than that really there isn't much more he can do to get ahead now because of the 24 hour window and how hard it is to progress. Though if we took note of this we might be able to use it to help ourselves. How we may be able to do that is by saving our rerolls and such for getting the port upgrades faster when we go for them at the end.
  10. I think i get it... Realistically he is ahead of most everyone. Those days when we could effectively get in all our voyages in the 24 hour window are what he had an advantage on. He would be doing the arc, skull, hook voyages. then when he ran out he would start using rerolls. I don't see it as a huge advantage though. My reasoning is because when you hit the hook/scythe zones things are pretty much capped at the 24 hour window. He would have to buy ship 3 to make a faster progress in the hook/scythe and likewise for bowl/pincers.
  11. Yeah but think about the gear progression... I mean yeah he will progress quickly with distance therefore unlocking zones faster, but will always be lacking in ship and crew stats. The further he progresses this way the lower his success rate would be because he wouldn't have the stats to complete voyages with a decent success rate.
  12. Don't think of engineering in its technical terms. Think of engineering with a magical, Stone Age/medieval twist.
  13. It's possible he's hopping servers to cut the voyage times in half. Each hop takes about 1.8 minutes off the clock. That combined with the random event trick plus maximum amount of special voyages (up to 6 per day) can give him more voyages than the average player expects. He wouldn't risk potential bug abuse ban.
  14. Honestly though this tactic ain't worth it for progression because nothing is gained. I mean yeah comp t req can potentially be completed and all low end port upgrades can be bought. The issue of time remains and it's success is kind of bottlenecked by crew stats.
  15. Well I know what I'm doing then :P. I think the way things are progressing ill be in the bowl by a weeks time.
  16. Keeping a running tally of how many missions of each done: The Convict: 4 The Occultist: 3 The Missionary: The Whaler: The Assassin: The Biologist:
  17. Quit ragging on the guy... I work 40 hours and manage to wake up in the middle of the night to send voyages. Granted it may not look appealing to do so it has little bearing on my life.
  18. A mod in a QA blog stated that if they wanted they could make the grid 10x smaller at most.
  19. Get the crit scrimshaws and be at the envious heart of every pvmer.
  20. Probably an untradable version of the soup.
  21. They are probably late is all. The only two things you can never escape is death and taxes... Ever heard that saying?
  22. Yeah it's great, but gets a bit boring up until after a bit into the scythe. By then you start noticing the trade materials start trickling in on manageable voyages.
  23. Think I lost a small cherry wood mission. It was that flat head giant one... Is that a big one? Can't remember...
  24. Been a while since I posted, but here are a few things I've been getting: Renovated office Tetsu laminar 2/4 Refurbished warehouse Renovated lodgings 13% into the scythe with 7 voyages left and a voyage reroll.
  25. The enchanted rudder is the cherry wood one. This rudder takes off 43 minutes from your base time. Honestly at this point I think this piece becomes a game changer. Once you hit the scythe I think people should break from tradition and reprioritize such as: 1. Get third ship first and foremost 2. Get enchanted rudder for a -43 min on scythe voyages 3. Replace all but 1-2 t2 crew or have at least 2 of each t4 4. Work on having 2 if not try for 3 solidarity units for duo/trio spec voyages. They'll help cut usage and make it easier for 3 simultaneous hard voyages. 5. Get deck upgrades and continue with tradition. Some consideration for players who might be collecting scrolls or doing high level missions. Consider getting a sea witch to reanimate dead crew should a good one be risked.
