  1. As suspected. Just the upgrade to the enchanted rudder cuts off 43 minutes. This takes a typical scythe voyage from 4:45 to 4:02 to completion. 15 voyages / 3 ships x 4 hours = 20 hours Pretty much giving yourself some leeway to getting the voyages done in time. Without the rudder you have to put the all out with almost no dock time. The rudder is well worth it, but probably only once you've got a couple sf, morale and combat crew.
  2. Considering how cheap the enchanted rudder is and how strapped for time people usualy are you should get this after you've got a few crew. I mean 650 to 1000 speed is a way big jump. Everything as far as ship upgrades are pretty heavy costing 700 for ram/figurehead, 800 for deck, 1200 for hull. This might be the ideal time to buy a rudder over deck if you are sitting well with your crew. I'm guessing jagex slumped on the price scale here because they thought people would (or give them a fighting chance to) upgrade and camp for other resources more at this point.
  3. Need to stop buying crew and work on the deck items. Really interested in what the cherrywood rudder might do on 4:45 times. Edit: I may just buy the cherrywood rudder; enchanted rudder, which is only 2400 chimes and 500 cherrywood. Normally I would say save for the deck and crew, but compared to the scale of all the other upgrades this is a steal. Besides the speed boost jumps from 650 to 1000! After this I think ill finish up crew and ship upgrades.
  4. Passed the winds home at 67%. Got my third ship and named it The Red Dragon. I got a beaurocrat on the ballet to buy and one down. Also a trader too if I fancy it. Going to focus on t3 replacements and buying the first deck upgrades after since they cost 800 cherrywood each.
  5. Yeah I plan on getting the assassin pack and might buy some brutal. The pets interest me, but just barely... I'm on the fence.
  6. Plan on getting my gold premier membership and buying the assassin gear and hopefully one of the new pets if they are on sale.
  7. Lmfao inb4 runescapes enchanting is a hybrid of WoWs enchanting and jewel crafting.
  8. Sof and sgs might not be in the spirit of the game, but don't judge it without considering its purpose. I am all for the nextgen of runescape. I have longed to see runescape adapt some of the mechanics and gameplay styles of WoW.
  9. Well look how vastly the increases in stats go. I think we'll be fine with our crew. I got a tier 4 crew with over 1k in a stat.
  10. Just sent out my winds home voyage at 67%. Now we wait... 7 hours. Almost at ship 3!
  11. I think adventurers here are just fillers for content and future lore sneak peaks into the eastern lands when they are released. Other than that the adventurer voyages are in my opinion pretty much just a jackpot of trade goods for those who took their time to play through them all. I feel that these voyages are much like the hidden rewards or side quests you get from main quests or like the farming lamp you get from livid farm. They serve no real mechanical purpose to the content other than as lore and offer rewards for fully exploring the content instead of rushing through it.
  12. Did one of the convicts missions last night... Lets just as he is oooone shady individual.
  13. Got the winds home quest for the judge of dice. Taking 5k in all three to get 100%. Should have my third ship after tonight.
  14. The golem overall tactical use is for those missions that you know are a real gamble. Each area has its own combat, seafaring, morale, speed, solidarity, trader, golem and special unit. The only difference is their stats and, in some cases, abilities go up together uniformly. Secondly I stated 2 traders and 2 solidarity because it was a good number to go by statistically. With that said chances are you would never need 3 traders unless you were at the end and hunting specific materials. Also 2 solidarity plays out quite well as far as probability in having solo, duo and trio req voyages. Solidarity plays out nicely even in solo req voyages. Generally they shine best in duo and trio req voyages where your crew may be a bit lopsided statistically. Now chances are you won't want 3 solidarity and want that golem to gamble with and that's kind of where I'm going with this. Even then you can't go wrong with 3 solidarity when you get your third ship. After that I think buying into a fourth solidarity when you hit the fourth ship might be questionable. This is due to traders being a possible good crew member for trade materials. Imagine gambling on a voyage for say 4 plates. You could probably meet the requirements with a normal crew. But suppose each trader you put in might lower that max input by 20% at most I'm guessing. Each trader at the 6th zone would offer 35% increased return. That would mean pulling in 7 plates which is 3 extra.
  15. Problem I think its going to be hard to send all three ships with good %s at scythe at least until the entire crew is T4 which might take a few days. Haven't had any problems yet. +1600 cherrywood so far today. My first ship is currently combat-focused (~8.2k combat), the other two grind the 3600/3600 and similar missions, each with a bureaucrat & trader for 25% bonus rewards. So far, all ships are getting over 90% (except on things like 5000 all or higher). Thanks for the tip. Its probably going to get harder as we progress more into the region maybe. So you have in stock what, 6 of each basic type of crew? I can think on situations where that maybe doesnt even cut it? mm ill have to see when I get new voyages today with 3 ships :P Ideal crew are 6 each, 2 solidarity, 2 traders and rest can be used for golems or zone special units.
  16. Yeah I can't wait for more voyages and getting my third ship. I think from here on out I'm only going do missions to buy ship upgrades, crew or the fourth ship. Ill consider upgrading to get better chances at captains when I finish buying my third ship because my captains are looking nooby.
  17. Enchantment would be cool and ive posted in official rs forum so many times before years. but will it work with "level up my x"? Yeah I could imagine it being an improvement into how the gear would tier. Imagine putting enchantments to spec out gear to offer more defense, offense... This would help push people more into roles.
  18. Enchanting, engineering (probably renamed something different and unique), and archaeology being made a still would be so much fun though. And yeah no legit clamp trim capers yet. It simply cannot be done. Matter of factly I think player owned ports trim req might be the longest, if not second to cwars in longest trim req. I'm thinking already that the scythe will take 3 weeks to progress through at the moment.
  19. Dang so close to getting my third ship. Going to be 1k or less from it... There goes my voyages for tomorrow.
  20. Got my 4k slate and working on bamboo for the third ship. About 1.8k more... Should have it after tomorrow's reset hopefully.
  21. I got a join acquisition between the convict and the occultist for 1400 chime and 650 cherrywood I plan on doing tonight at the very end. Might skip it to do the two story missions for both of them. Edit: 12k combat req for a scroll piece... No thanks.
  22. Suicide mission was a success!
  23. Damn I accidentally sent a suicide mission for cherrywood. Meant to load up more seafaring, but sent early... SOB! Oh well. Seems unlocking an area might automatically give you a story mission even after a reset.
  24. Might be sharing the obvious, but concentrating on an area doesn't stop you from getting higher level voyages.
