agreed. my friends at Christopher Newport University said it's basically just like "grade 13" (US has 12 grades...just clarification for non US residents)... here at VT...lol...i'd give anything for a course that's as easy as "grade 13"

i don't understand english grading and when they say A-level :(

agreed with Barihawk. i did some research just recently and there are different theories about how old the earth is. like you said...it really does not matter how old it is, but some people wanna know. i have changed my view on this after doing research on my own and looking at things that make sense. theory 1.) like barihawk said, the days to God are different than the days to us. time is a dimension just like length, width, and height...and is therefore is dependent on the observer. that being said...time can be torn, bent, twisted, and basically manipulated. now if you have past, present, and future...all in a line like this: ------Past---------Present--------Future then put God on that timeline...he will be OUTSIDE of our time dimension all together...so a day to him could be many years to us: ------Past---------Present--------Future -------^---------------^--------------^------ -------|----------------|---------------|------ -------|__________|__________|____ -------------------------|-------------------- -----------------------GOD------------------ so he can see every dimension at once because he is OUTSIDE of it. so he is not limited to our term of a "day"...so a 24 hour period to him could be different than ours as the measurement of time is dependent on the observer. 2.) Theory 2: alright let's say God created man....ok? and it can be inferred from the Bible that he is a MAN, not a child. now...if he is a man and not a child...how old is he right when God created him? is he per say...25 years old? or 1 minute (second..w/e) old? how old would he really be? to a doctor (if one was around) he would say that he has the molecular structure of a 25 year old man...but in fact he is only 1 minute old. if that's the case for man...who's to say that can't be the case for...that mountain or rock? who's to say our perception of time and how old things are, are the correct measurement. because maybe we say that rock is 3 billion years old (AND IT IS!), but in reality it is only...6,000 years old! so i mean...there's so many different ways to look at it again...it really doesn't matter...but yeah

common problem in my field (engineering). everything is practically group work...well the first year not so much, but Junior and Senior year there is basically no tests, only design projects. anyway, i suggest you tell your teacher about it. see what he/she can do...if he/she says "tough cookies", then just suck it up and do the work. the good thing is there is typically a peer evaluation at the end and then you get to trash your group members if they did no work :P however, if there's no peer evaluation..i still suggest just sucking it up and doing it all/helping them lots. not much other option unless you want to fail :?

Who do you think is the best drummer ever?

this isn't the first thing he has been pedantic about on this forum...and Cathbert it is very annoying...sorry  Thats because you suck at science and I don't, I was only correcting you on that topic no...because you are a pedantic person... i told you my explanations...and i told you i was WELL aware before you even "informed me" of the 4 fundamental forces...but that still doesn't stop other things from being referred to as "a force". you just had to be pedantic about it and go "ahem...well technically...". i am well aware... it was almost like saying "well orange isn't a true color because it is in fact cause by the make up of red and yellow"...really annoying. of course every other "force" reference is caused by one of the four...but that doesn't stop the reference of things as "forces" -

don't see a problem if... if you feel the need for more discussion and wish to bump it up..then do so.

Essentially every organism requires food for energy, thus, the food they eat contains energy. This can basically all be traced back to the energy plants get from the sun. I've always thought that chemotrophs don't get engergy from the sun at all considering that they get their engergy from the bacteria that thrives at the openings in the ocean that release chemicals from the Earth. There isn't any sunlight down there. yeah i thought about it again and said that... :) (sorta) lol

i just got back 10 minutes ago...things are hopefully coming back to normal. got kids playing frisbee and football out front of west AJ and Pritchard i havn't seen the media (yet) but we received emails saying they will be here till the remainder of the semester...they arn't allowed in buildings, thank gosh classes resume on Monday, but you can just take the grades you have right now and cannot get lower... i have like 2 A's and 3 B's...but i know i can make it to 3 A's and 2 B's before the semester is over

What I always wondered when I saw reports of VT, isn't it very annoying to have such a big campus? I mean, I heard that VT has over 14000 students who all have their own room, and that the complex itself is as big as a small city. Wouldn't it be better to split it to a few universities? Or is it normal in America that universities are so huge? Because here -in Belgium- the universities are smaller, and the students live in the city on small rooms. So it's easier to control when something serious like this would happen. 26-27,000 students actually. the large universities all have this many people here. Ohio State has something like 40,000 students. i personally like being on a big campus...you get to meet so many new people, it's very diverse, and there's just..yeah..so many people. i love it. we each share a room with another student, however, the majority of the campus lives off of it...something like 9,000 students live on the campus itself. it is split into many different colleges, but all and all it is one big university

omg i remember you!!!! so you decided to go to Virginia Tech afterall? dude...got like a facebook? pm me it i'm so happy to hear you're ok
-
lol funny how you go nuts over something so silly obviously you didn't pick something as original as you had thought...and you gotta remember that this game has existed for 6.5 years and it isn't possible for accounts' names to be deleted...and there are A LOT of players around the world
-
Yeah, kinda let science take hold of me... :anxious: :P i just thought about something. what about the thermal vents at the bottom of the ocean? arn't they a source of energy for organisms? cause of the methane and such that's released...a lot of plants can use that for energy can't they? correct me if i'm wrong
-
meh true also be aware that the question is 100% opinionated and isn't which force is essential for life.. just which one is the most powerful...whether it be by destructive means or other crap lol continue
-
what about all of the organisms at the bottom of the ocean who don't rely on sunlight :-k
-
yeah i thought this would be an interesting discussion.. what (in your opinion) is the most powerful force IE: wind, sunlight, water...etc IMO it would be water just for the fact that a.) it is where we came from by definition of evolution...and without it life wouldn't even have had a place to build molecular structures together to exist in the first place (if you believe in evolution) b.) it destroys buildings through tsunamis...and hurricanes...etc. c.) we are made of like 70%+ water... d.) we need it more than anything in the world...more than food e.) it has and is still being used for transportation methods... water is more powerful than that in survival, destructive force, and majesty.. sure there are a lot of things we need to live...but water is the most important what is the most powerful/magnificent natural force to you? whether it be by looks, importance...or w.e..doesn't matter

again...i don't want to say the world has become "numb" to those places...but it's expected

btw...the wild was much better before teleblock.. it did more harm than good...and if you don't know why then you arn't even a real pker
-
That's what teleblock is for. After all, you still have the xp, or double since you are in the wilderness. To "quote " the article: I guess you weren't good enough... There's nothing honourable in death. takes 25 magic to teleport away but 85 magic to teleblock them? not to mention it takes 2 runes to teleport away but 3 runes to teleblock them? actually...only 1 space to tele away (teletablets) and you also need magic gear to make a successful teleblock, while teleing away will never fail. if that is your problem maybe pking isn't for you..... been playing since runescape classic hun...pking is all that runescape is... you don't see a problem there? teleporting away should require magic gear to do so...or fail...just like any other spell i also find it funny how many people agree with this article...when the same people are the ones complaining about me attacking them without letting them pot
