It is probably because you are far away from the server. When I try using ventrilo from my uncles house in london, I get constant high ping, but when I use it in America, I get around 120-200 with about the same connection speed. You can try finding a closer server. try playing Runescape on an distant Server and compare the lag to a local server.

I can't tell you the eact keyboard to get, but Logitech is the way to go. I have a LX3 Mouse and Elite LE Keyboard. Had for 4 years and still in top condition. Goal 1 - Host good LAN party This article inspired me to host a small LAN party. This is becomming a relality. Me and about five of my friends are going to host a 30 person LAN party. We have been researching things we need to do. We have a small office building section (about 4k square foot) which is going to cost around $130.00 for all day + overnight rental (we got deal because the owner is my work manager's brother. The office building has a dedicated internet connection and network connections already, so all we have to do is plug and play basically. It also has heating and air-cooling as well as good power plugs.. We plan to charge 15 bucks for normal play and 20 for all day + overnight. I will use my connections ( I work at a pepsi factory) to get free soft drinks and a temporary fountain drink maker. We will serve grilled food and other things for food. We will limit the ages to: 16 - 17 can only play from noon to 10pm. 18 and older can play however long they want( I am 18 myself). In all, it will cost us about 400ish dollars. but we could make up a 200 dollar profit, which we will basically give away as prizes(or use to cover liability insurance). We will probably host it next month on a non snowy day. We will probably have my cousin (paramedic) on call just in case we have any medical issues. We will plan for more people since we will advertise on newspapers and radio. I know a lot of people will come since we have a lot of computer geeks/gamers around my 'hood. It should. JIC, I would have an old version of windows nearby . Everytime I install an upgrade disk for XP in a virtual machine, it asks me to provide a previous version. I have a ye old WIndows 95 disk for that.

This would only work if you had computertard parents who had no idea what a computer trojan was. Any computer efficnet parent who actually wanted to block their kids from admin status would have an admin password set for that safe-mode account. I just use a linux boot CD (ubuntu ftw :thumbsup: ) and use that. My schools tech admins are fine with that as long as I don;t screw up the system. Yes. There are several ways (VGA and HDMI for example). All you do is plug a monitor in , go to your graphics card properties. You should see something about monitors ( the location is based on your graphics card). THere should be something like "Extend my desktop to this screen". You might have to restart your computer for it to take effect.
