  1. Oh man I haven't actually thought of that. It's gunna be awesome to never see those again. I'm sure I won't miss them.
  2. Yeah my first exam is English too. I don't know how to feel right now. Sometimes I feel extremely confident, while every now and then I start to think I'm not prepared. All I know is I keep looking forward to the end way too much. I keep getting distracted by thinking about how great it will be once I finish. 21 days left! :D
  3. I'm going to Byron for schoolies 8-) Can't wait.
  4. Different size, same goal. I'm not saying Scientology isn't an extreme example, I'm just saying there are similarities. That's because Christianity isn't as straight forward as Scientology. Scientology has strict rules and entry conditions such as a fee, where as a religion like Christianity relies on social pressures and fear to acquire followers and wealth. True. Self observations/opinions. Similar to your post, really.
  5. ouch, a birthday exam! Yeah its actually the net and by post. The only different is i think the results are on the internet before we receive the letters
  6. I find it funny how similar Scientology is to every other religion. There's such a fine line between cult and religion, most people can't tell a difference. Just because a religion doesn't require a fee of some type, doesn't mean it isn't there. Doesn't everyone feel obligated to make a "donation" when the basket is passed around at church? I mean, they blackmail you with theoretical torture in the afterlife if you don't follow their rules. So I guess what I'm saying is Scientology is based on the same concept of every other religion.
  7. Yeah sort of. I just want it over. I'm burning out with my study, I just really can't be assed anymore :( I only need about a 70 uai to be satisfied, so I'm not too worried about it anymore...hsc broke my spirit.
  8. I just bought one last week! I'm not going to cheat and use the algorithms though, it feels like it'd be cheapening the whole experience. So, in two years when I've solved it I'll be back to brag.
  9. 6 days until the hsc starts. Everyone prepared?
  10. How many hours/day have you guys been studying? I can only manage about 4 hours a day, whereas some of my mates have been doing up to 10. I feel as though I'm not doing enough haha
  11. Neither, never compromise a [silly high school] friendship over a silly high school relationship. They both really have the same value really. No high school relationship is expected to last, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth anything.
  12. Take her back, but hold it against her until she's willing to cook you steak whenever you desire.
  13. ^Tripsis, I'd like to add that a lot of overweight people are using food as an emotional crutch. Teasing them about their weight will only make them lean on the food more, so to speak. But it doesn't really matter, I can tell he only said that to get some attention. Mlbfan, your ugly.
  14. And this is where the problem is. I have two close friends who you could swear was anorexic. But they are not. They have been trying for as long as they can remember to put on weight. They are as self conscious about their image as anyone who is overweight. This isn't just about thin woman. It's about woman who are so thin that they look anorexic. So really, you do have a problem with these type of people.

How does appearing on CSI exclude it? I'm probably taking psychology next year for uni. Hopefully it's as interesting as it seems.
  16. Gah, sounds like you've got it all sorted out, Dan. I wish I had some direction haha.
  17. Yeah they went well for me too. I didn't go as well as you did in the trials, but I put a lot of work in since then so I'm hoping it paid off.
  18. Actually I was a little confused about that. In the UAC books usually the course says "any two units of mathematics". At first I thought that meant any type of maths. But then I realized the 2 unit course is called mathematics. But doesn't matter, I'm not looking to study anything that needs it.
  19. WOOH HSC! Standard English General Maths Biology Music 1 PD/H/PE I started studying yesterday, and I'm hoping to achieve a nice 4 hours each day until exams. I have around a 75% average for all my subjects, so not excellent, but not terrible. I'm hoping to achieve a UAI of 80, although 75 would do. Intruiging, are you a performance major? How did yours go?
  20. :| Just had to point that out. I'll edit a story in later if I can be bothered.
  21. I can relate, I was really close friends with a girl who was like that. With those kinds of people, I think it's easiest if you remain friends with them, but just don't let yourself become close friends with them (or if you already are, then drift apart a bit). If you let yourself get too close to them, you generally end up getting hurt, and it sounds like that's what has been happening with you. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) You are correct, sir. You will always be the B plan because all you are to her is what I like to call a 'self esteem security blanket'. She'll choose anyone she thinks will boost herself esteem, or make her cooler because she knows if it doesn't work out, she'll have you to fall back on.
  22. First off, your a best friend, not a boyfriend. Why are you expecting to come first? To me, a females male "best friend" is essentially a "plan B", or an emotional back up to a boyfriend. They'll love you and all that until a boyfriend, (or better offer) comes up. Sure, they still love you while they are with their better offer, but that doesn't mean they will choose you first. Secondly, it really doesn't matter what you think about them getting together. Just put your 2 cents in and leave it at that. People grow from experience; if they have to learn the hard way so be it.

Aw testicles. I want it to happen now!
  24. Lol, that advert is hilarious. But ignoring both sides of the debate, the only reason I personally wouldn't want to try/use marijuana is because of the changes I have seen in my mates. I have mates who started socially smoking pot. No harm there, I never really had a problem with it. But gradually it became a fortnightly habit, then a weekly habit. Now they smoke whenever they can. Instead of coming out with my other mates and I on Friday and Saturday nights, they sit in their car and get stoned. One of them is (for lack of a better word) addicted to it enough to smoke every night, by himself. Now, over the past month or two they have started to get into the 'harder' drugs. Doing lines of coke, just to get that extra high. Enjoying cocktails of alcohol, pot, coke, speed and ecstasy just to get really "F-ked up". That is why I don't wanna use weed, or any other drug for that matter. Because I know I have an addictive personality, and I would probably become addicted to it like my mates. That being said, I know that this isn't the case for the majority of marijuana users, and I kind of feel like a hypocrite since I drink alcohol. EDIT: I just realized I'm hardly on topic. Um, I think a "drug awareness" program would be more sufficient then an anti drug one. Labeling something as "bad" without further explanation only encourages further 'research'.
