Yea, WoW's community has a lot of great people, but even more whiners. RS has possibley the WORST community of any MMORPG ever. F2P is filled with kids who have no manners and no morals, and member's is only slightly better because you have to pay for access. The more expensive the game, the better the community. :P Most children can't talk their parents into paying over $100 a year on a game.

It would take a freight train and millions of dollars to make me start playing this game again. :P WoW after level 60 *can* be boring, depending on your play-style. If you're not into raids, then you have to grind like in RuneScape, only you grind faction to get a decent reward item. Skills don't take much grinding like RS. RS cost = $5 WoW cost = $15 ^ To whoever asked^

6.5 Million accounts on RuneScape could mean there are as little as like 1 million players total. I know I personally had many account, and I know most people do aswell. This is about PAYING customers. F2Per's, in all their leaching glory, do not count. Even if we DID count them, RuneScape would still be way behind, but it would be like the 2nd biggest game in the world, assuming every F2Per would pay. They do not, however. Yes, there are 6.5 million people who play WoW. Over 1.5 million in China alone. Yes, that is 97.5 million dollars per month. Yes, that is over 1 billion dollars per year. Too bad for Blizzard, most of that money surely goes to Vivendi Universal, their parent company. But I have no doubt that people who work on WoW get paid very well. Usually, I've read, experienced developers can make $50,000 per year, twice that or more if they make a successful game. WoW is the most successful MMORPG *ever*, so I have no doubt they're getting paid well. But it isn't all rolling in money, they have like a thousand servers, so AT&T gets a bunch of their money, too. They set up new servers monthly, aswell. A ton of money is involved, but like I said, they're not rolling around in it in their offices I'm sure. :P

Millions of people played Warcraft/Starcraft/Diablo series. Many people who did now play WoW because the company behind it makes quality games. It has it's flaws, but it is a great game. You could play every MMO out there today and not find a better one. I've played most of them (the serious ones...Screw that maplestory BS.) and they're not even comparitive.

I'm far from a Bush supporter but calling a war 'a glorified gang fight' takes things too far. My grandfather and every other soldier involved with any war didn't fight and risk their lives just so they can be disrespected by morons like you who are lucky enough to be living the way it is now. Blah, blah, blah. Wars back then were fought for a REASON. Today they're fought "just because". I have had, do have, and know people in the Army or that were in the Army. I'm not just a babbling anti-war hippy. I'm aware that some wars are necessary. AKA gang raping Hitler out of power. That was necessary. Invading Iraq to fight an invisible, unwinnable "war on terror" isn't. Nice temper you have, too.

I am the original owner, and no I didn't say that. I remember specifically the day the restrictions came out because people were pissed off and having to level up their defense. Does it even matter? I'm level 123 for god's sake, obviously I've been here a while.

Old age has nothing to do with cancer or any other disease. It has to do with your body saying "Well, that's enough of that crap." and shutting down. It just stops. My grandma is like 92 and she just started showing signs of "old-age" like loss of hearing, eye sight, etc a couple years ago. She stopped going out shopping for groceries this year. She's still doing okay.

On the other hand... this is not true, at all. Bush supporter, are we? Could you please tell me how a war is NOTHING like a gang fight? People shoot eachother over little to no reason, people die, innocent and guilty alike. There are guns. There are leaders. There is death. It's the same thing. Just because the Government allows one of them doesn't make it right. It only makes it glorified.

My level 123 probably has like 4 million gp or something, maybe 10 million total in items since I have some dragon armor. People who hoard money = boring.

Member's worlds probably aren't worse, they always had no lag. I've been playing since the release too. Before the Wilderness, before armor restrictions, yadda yadda...Level 123, 90, 70...

They don't have to pay, last I checked. I think people are missing my point on the server lag issue. They are much laggier than I ever remember them being. Even for F2P, which I remember being horrible, now is just unplayable to me. I don't think this had anything to do with the update; I just logged in today and it's still crappy. You could argue people are all in the same area still, but it matters not. There are just more players than Jagex expected, and their servers are lacking. I just wonder how bad Members worlds are... And yes, I believe RS is the only one on the list where you DON'T have to pay to play.

Paw_Claw, I was on a F2P world, it should have nothing to do with the members only updates. Granted, F2P worlds were always laggier, I couldn't bare it this time, I signed off after about 4 minutes. I have DSL and a Graphics Card good enough to run WoW without lag, so obviously it's Jagex's servers. :P

Obviously this man has never heard of the "MiniClip advertising scheme". Back when they (Jagex) started advertising on MiniClip, the population rose hugely and lag was rampant...I actually logged in today and it's so much more laggier than it ever was. Jagex needs to invest in some servers that don't suck. :P edit: typo

Here's how it is: You have one account. Cost: $15/month. On that account, you can have 10 characters, per server, no extra charge. Say there are 100 server choices (there are more), you could have 1,000 characters and still only pay $15/month. Only one character per account can be logged in at one time, however. So you and your brother can't play at the same time on the same account. Not even on different servers. Hope that helped? It is a really, really fun game, but it is more complicated that RS and if you don't play for several hours per day, you really don't have a chance at the "great" gear. A 5-man instance at level 60 can take an hour to 3 hours (if your group stinks it's longer of course, so 3 is possible :P) and a 40-man raid takes anywhere from 1 to 4 hours. My guild clears Molten Core and Blackwing Lair in 4 hours each, but we've been at it for a year, so we know it.

Way to Go! Finally some one posts something good to read. By his things, he wasn't that good. Just alot of combat stuff that looks quite random. Well I have sympathy that you lost a friend but is he even a IRL friend? Think for one sec, will you see most of these people again in your life? The answer is usually no. Kill yourself.

Actually, that is quite true that dogs and cats eat grass if they have an upset stomach so they can regurgitate it and relieve themselves of the discomfort. I would call it using medicine. Its more like if the dog thinks, "My back is itching, I know the tree will make it go away", the grass is the same concept. It doesn't know why or how it works, it just accepts it as a fact. I see it that way too, but scientists do not apparently. Apparently, they think that is using medicine, and animal's aren't smart enough to do that.

Also, there is an "all others" listed at 3.5% for those "other" games. Paw_Claw, I'm not sure you're reading that graph correctly. WoW's growth has not stopped and probably will not stop for some time. It's a huuuuuge name in MMO's and it gets bigger. Even people you wouldn't expect to play MMO's are playing it. Preppy popular kids, you know. Because it's "cool". I blame it's history as a great game series, Blizzard's track record with great games, and lastly, the graphics. The graphics are like nothing else in any other games, they don't try to look "real", which is refreshing. Trying to make things look "real" often makes the graphics look like crappy PS1-days graphics, which turns me away. If I can't stand to look at it, I can't play it of course. Warhammer Online has similarly awesome graphics like WoW, and a good track record company behind it, PLUS it's made-out to be a huge, great PvP game from the DoAC (arguably the best PvP game ever made, some say) team. I expect it to get over 1 million subscribers, some from WoW, even, who are sick of WoW's lame PvP. I may be one of them, only time will tell.

And to answer your question; Evolution can be proved, if you want to get technical, it pretty much has been. It's an extremely widely accepted "theory". The only people who don't accept it? Religious people. Even if it wasn't proven, at least there are still ways to prove it. Name me one way you could even BEGIN to prove the Bible and I will convert.

My eyes still burn from that cult-like lashing he gave me after my post. Rather than address my points, he says "Why not accept Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?!" I swear to God I felt like I was being sucked into a cult for a second. That [cabbage] is CREEPY. NEVER SAY IT AGAIN.

Less lag, better people, (I guess you could say) better game play all around, more stuff to do.. It is worth it just for the stuff there is to do.

Get a level 123, then say it's not boring and is the greatest game ever. :P I had fun while it lasted, but I got tired of updates being "Hey hey, new quest suited for level 50's with a reward that isn't even an upgrade for them!" It's fun for what it is, but when you play WoW (if you haven't yet) it makes you not want to look back. Ever. :P

Howdy everyone. I haven't played RS now for 2 years, but I saw this on the World of Warcraft general forums and figured everyone would think it was cool information. I personally didn't think RuneScape was this big...I knew it was pretty big, but bigger than Everquest? EQ2? That's pretty big. I would have guessed it was mostly WoW, then EQ2, then EQ, then other games, and RuneScape would be towards the BOTTOM, but alas, I am wrong..Infact, EQ is bigger than EQ2! Didn't see that coming..
