  1. I agree with having strength work for all skills would be fine. It doesn't necessarily have to be physical strength for magic either, because you would be applying your fitness in body towards your magical knowledge.
  2. Hopefully they do.
  3. There can be, but a lot of that would be considered insider tradings if you got the information non publicly. The problem is that it is a much bigger risk to "play" the stock market, and there are much more informed people than you. Though you probably can learn some and get decent at it.
  4. Honestly, I'd rather see this than some entirely new sets that will be exclusively in the hands of merchants for the next few years (I'm not at all bitter about Ahrim's wand, what gave you that idea?) Ahrims, Virtus, Drygores, etc. Most of these are fairly out of reach. That isn't necessarily bad, except that the next levels down aren't even in the same ballpark. Especially for wands.
  5. In a way, I bet that's true now. Hey.. wait a minute I think Jagex may have read that thread too and said "That's a neat idea!"
  6. It seems interesting. Hopefully they will actually make the weaknesses matter enough that simply using drygores isn't the best method for all monsters. And hopefully fix up the issues with some weaknesses on monsters where you still splash a lot. I am hoping the abilities help mage and range rotations. The main thing I am concerned with though, is that they didn't actually address that some of mage's abilities are just bad. Not because the damage calculation was bad, but simply because the ability design is bad (combust, or whichever one you can charge up to explode)
  7. I believe they listed the quests which have something meaningful in itself that happened rather than listing all quests and prereqs. For example, Hazel Cult is where Hazel revives.. I would assume it's to keep the list down although you might make a post reminidng them on the forums to actually put a "past" reminder on all of those quests.
  8. Chanelled abilities can't move, but not all combo abilities are chanelled
  9. It is true for all abilites? The only ones it doesn't effect are instant cast abilities, which makes sense, and possibly snipe but I haven't used that in so long I can't be sure of that. IIRC its only the case for some of the abilities marked "Combo attack". I know flurry allows you to run from it, but rapid fire doesn't. Damn inconsistencies. Edit: Trying it out now and a single click won't halt most combo attacks, however double clicking away will. Odd. My guess is the single click vs double click is to ensure you as the user actually wanted to cancel the ability, so that a misclick when you didn't want to doesn't cancel the ability and you lost the combo.
  10. Yea it's all very confusing. But I know with ahrims wand and an arcane shield I was taking way too much damage and not hitting much at all. I'm guessing that the staff would help a lot as it has a higher accuracy due to being 2h I believe? Either way I am guessing trying to do them with a shield is bad.
  11. I've never seen crew above lvl 10.
  12. I suppose their solution makes sense as you are just viewing a memory/experience of the quest if you do it later. It does have paradox involved but at least they picked an explanation.
  13. I definitely think now, more than ever, that So does this mean the events of RotM are considered happening before TWW even if the player hasn't yet done that quest? Because otherwise the explanation of how he got the staff has to work no matter which order you did the quests in. I suppose the quest about how he gets the staff could require you to have done TWW and RoTM and then it doesn't matter what order because he could have a minor explanation of how he got the staff between quests (stole from lucien for a few moments etc)
  14. We'll see when I get the task next. I'm hoping to get the few tokens I need for chaotic before then, but I have other staffs if necessary :) I just normally prefer to dual wield or use a shield
  15. I think they did some defense buffing since then, not sure. I had Ahrims wand, it wasn't enough. Once I get the tokens I will try chaotic staff. The Ahrims wand + shield was not enough accuracy to dmg them. Bestiary says they have 80 defence, 80 attack, 1 ranged, and 1 magic.
  16. When did you last do them? It's possible that I needed the 2h for the higher accuracy because the 1h wand has low accuracy? I dunno I've heard I should try chaotic rapiers so that's what I am gonna do next task.
  17. None of those are huge concerns from a lore stand point in my opinion. I think the staff could easily be explained properly. There are other possible things that could be done... My point is just that everyone sees the quest as it is for them, and then assumes that someone without requirement will see the same dialog etc. This isn't necessarily true, and until someone proves that it is, I will give Jagex good faith and assume that the quest does check for things.
  18. Yes. I was working under assumptions of no requirements at all. Lots of ways around it though azzandra is the biggest one I see. Also someone mentioned.. it doesn't require WGS, but how can that quest happen "While Guthix Sleeps" when Guthix is dead?
  19. Mithril dragons state they are weak to earth magic, but when I used ahrims wand and earth surge I was splashing more than I was hitting. I was getting about 1 kill per overload, and taking too much damage. Was using a shield and stuff too...
  20. Because full rewards moves the game forward to the 6th age, certainly events need to of happened. I wonder how the quest looks/ends to someone who has done no quests whatsoever. Exactly the same, the quests just get you the title, slayer dungeon and '6th age circuit' (which is our indicator of the year/age having moved on) from what people have said anyways. Though logic-wise it would be very problematic. 1) Juna recognising you - How's that without ToG? 2) The Crux Eqal - Again how without right quests? 3) Sliske - Treating you like you met before, again how without rotm 4) Azzandra, Enhkara, Anthankos, Wahisitel and Char - how without the right quests to free them/reveal them? All in all it really seems like aside from 140cmb the base quest should really require ROTM + Firemaker's Curse + ToG (don;t think it appears in rotm reqs) just to make all the npcs make sense. They can easily remove characters who you haven't unlocked. Notice how none of the guys you fight with are ones that have quest dependencies? also none of the bad guys. 1) Juna just wouldn't recognize you, but the guthix people will trust you once the aura appears that says Guthix chose you 2) The Crux Eqal did nothing and could just not appear 3) Sliske could just be hanging outside the door waiting for it to open and low and behold you open it for him. No recognition needed 4) Some of these could show up but they aren't necessary, with the possible exception of Azzandre. That is a plot whole unless you simply can't choose zaros's side until you free Azzandre? That would require a fair bit of rework in the quest to avoid azzandre but possible. Majjahrat could be shown in whichever rejuve state they're in for you. It's *doable*.. The question of Jagex having done it right... I hope they did but I don't have a lot of sense.
  21. That's horrible! Cannon doesn't do much, some monsters are practically unklllable... everything is just ruined atm.
  22. I sold a vampyrism scrimshaw for 2m last night :)
  23. Yes but they still haven't worked on other old storylines in ages and ages and ages... They keep adding *new* ones :D
  24. I think they just didn't wanna deal with houses for F2P.
  25. It's possible guthix can change his form? :P
