Yea...we got a bunch before Summoning and HD...then nothing... This doesn't bode well for upcoming DDs. BTS was a constant. I can see Jagex passing the buck on a lot of updates because now they can say "oh it needs a few more weeks of testing". One of the great things about this game is that it is constantly updated. If we go weeks without anything, interest might wane and involvement (through theorizing, anticipating level requirements, etc) will grind to a halt.

Lol, I never thought about the "Behind the Scenes" meaning before. Guess they really weren't behind the scenes. Oh and I see yinz a fellow Pittsburgher =)

Im even ok with them saying "We have a lot of updates in the works so we are not going to publish any updates this month". I just neeeeeeeeeed to know

I dont know if this is a bad analogy....but think of the BTS like having a baby....the anticipation is part of the experience (9 months and the possible dates the baby could be born). Without the BTS, its like "Hey guess what...you have a baby" without any prior knowledge. Sure its great, but its a real shock to the system.

Its not like we lacked "real updates" in the past few years. I can name more than a dozen really meaty updates (Summoning, God Wars, The Beast, While Guthix Sleeps immediately come to mind in the past year or two).

Its the first weekday of the month.... This usually means waking up to read a brand new edition of Behind the Scenes. When I woke up this morning and didn't see it on the front page, I came to the realization that I am not a fan of Jagex's new policy of only doing Development Diaries. I'm sure this policy will have its perks...But the BTS has been around since the month I started playing (April/May 2005). It gave structure to my Runescape playing. I eagerly anticipated several of the updates it described. They were also often cleverly written and quite enjoyable to read... Remember "sitting on chairs"? I understand that Jagex wants to avoid being beholden to the BTS and avoid the inundation of threads from professional comlainers ("Wheres my UPDATE JAGEX??? I HATE THIS GAME I QUIT) when an update didn't come out in an expected week. But I think not having the BTS will eliminate some of the great anticipatory theorizing that immediately followed their publication. A wait and see time frame isn't really that fun. Maybe even be super vague like the chaos elemental anagrams... What are your thoughts on this?

That's much too big, and it looks like you AA'd the cutout onto the white background, which makes it hard to make transparent without leaving a white border around the picture. I'd fix it, but it'd be much easier for you to redo it. thanks will do. cheers, rhupa

Hey guys. I was hoping someone could enlighten me on this subject... When I slay, I obviously wear my Slayer Helmet. This gives me +15% attack and strength through my task. If I super set, is it +15% of my new level or my base level? If I use Piety, is it +15% of my new level or my base level? Also, what happens if I wear the Slayers Helmet, super set, and Piety (and lets say wear Dragon Slayer gloves as well during a Dragon task for +10% attack bonus)? Is this total overkill?

I was slaying at greater demons today when I something I had not seen before. It just takes you down the steps... The examine is "A portal from this mystical place"... Am I missing something?

Its a fun diversion but definitely not a new method of effectively training Slayer and Summoning. It is 30 points for 42 blue charms....thats 10 victorious games (3 hours and 20 minutes). I can get 42 blue charms way faster than that at Kalphites. At 97 Slayer, you get 1210 Slayer Xp per Zeal point. At most you can get 6-8k per hour in Slay xp. This game is very very well balanced.

Zezima just gained a level in summoning. Heres to hoping hes back for good. Order will soon be restored on RS High scores :P

haxer! i was 1 mill ahead of you last week! Congrats. Last one to 99 slay is a rotten egg!

ok here are my thoughts. void is great if you are planning on using chinchompas for getting 99 range. it increases the xp rate per hour. for every day slaying, id stick with black dhides. they give more consistent hits and makes the assignment go much faster.

Everyone has made good arguments. Wouldn't spending 20 mil on prayer (for those of you who arent maxed) be worth a lot more? OR 20mil on any other useful skill..
