  1. Haven't got Spinal Tap my self, but I did see someone get it in the versus match I just finished. Maybe the zombie has to be one that's just randomly standing, with that said, this was in the finale, doubt there's any helpless zombies in that, could just be a bugged one, as well as the headshotting a hunter while he's pouncing. Those are 2 people are having problems with. Cr0wnd is apparently possible, though.
  2. Um, official release was the 18th world wide on Steam, and the smaller privately owned stores. Big retail chains release it on the 19th, 21st in the EU. They never delayed it :P
  3. IF you can afford it, it's a great package. @Cadbury, yea 20-30 seconds gets abit boring at times, it can be funny watching what you just caused cause mayem (eg: sitting on the witch and get someone to shoot you :)) But sometimes it gets kinda annoying waiting. Probally won't be long till instant respawn servers are about, which will make Versus impossible, tbh.
  4. Haha oh wow, japan. Ive found some achievements to be buggy. I completed Death Toll but got no achievement for it the first time and ive smacked plenty of hunters in the face when they leap at me but with no achievement. Ive also puked twice on the survivors but didnt get the achievement either. And yeah, if you dont puke when youre a boomer youve wasted a decent spawn. I hope they do something about the long spawn time though, 20 seconds is a bit much. 20 seconds is to keep it balanced, otherwise it'd be impossible. I wish they would add something like you can play as a common horde, you'd die quick, but it'd pretty funny just to atleast move about and feel like you're playing. And I have also have problems with achievements. Did all of Death Toll not in one sitting, did 1-4 in one sitting, never did the finale, just did the finale, no achievement. Pissing me off that you have to do them all in one sitting and get to the rescue vehicle alive. I just got the hunter one in single player, lined up the hunter and hit it at the right time, I thought I should of got it ages ago too :\
  5. Boomer has 50hp, so it's hit or die. Had and seen some awesome Boomer Moves. I like hiding in the alcoves and puking on them, trying to get the 2 pukes on 1 life achievement, almost had it but messed up on my end :( One my LOL moments in co-op was on the 3rd map of Dead Air, a boomer was on the airport roof and all of a sudden dropped down and died from the fall right in front of us. AI at it's (lol) best. One tactic that works with the Boomer is getting on a roof in building right above of where the surviors will exit, seen someone get all 4 there many times. He may only have 50hp, but he's deadly, and so damn funny XD
  6. Done Dead Air (on normal) and Blood Harvest (on Advanced), I never did all of Dead Air (missed the first level) so no achievement, but I did do all of Blood Harvest, but again, no achievement, why? Because I died 20 seconds before the end when I did a heroic save on the tank. Gah! Don't see why only people who are alive should get it. Eitherway, EPIC FUN. For the first time ever in a game I was actually got pretty damn scared right when we doing the Dead Air finale, we already started it and took on the first wave and a tank, and then I heard the epic scream from the horde preparing for the second wave. If you've played the Dead Air finale you know it's pretty open, you have no idea where they are going to come from, so we're looking around gritting out teeth. Blood Harvest finale we failed twice in a row, then finally got it 3rd time lucky, we hid up in one of the barns you can go upstairs in, tanks were a slight problem in there but we managed, just, we lost 1 person per tank (usually 2-3 tanks per finale). Me being one of those people. Anyway, most fun I've had in a long time... Time for some Versus mode.
  7. Versus mode is hilarious. That's all I can say. Easily more fun than GoW2 and CoD5 (yes, I have played them both before you flame me :P) Just a REAL shame you can't play the other 2 campaigns in versus mode yet, Death Toll is amazing, and I am sure Dead Air will be too.
  8. Started the game as soon as I got up and decrypted and updated L4D, had a game of Death Toll on Advanced, and honestly, it was god damn HARD. The finale.. Never managed to do it, the tank would always ruin our day, and the sheer amount of hordes that come in such a small space of time is insane. It'll be awhile before I try expert, a finale on expert will be EXTREMELY hard, I mean, the average person will probally NEVER do it. One thing it is though, is awesome, awesome fun. Gonna try Dead Air next I think, after a food break.
  9. I pre-loaded as soon as it came available, no problems here.
  10. Never really had those problems (though I belive a new patch on the PC version has caused some problems, not played L4D for a day or two, trying not to over-play it). Try opening the devolper console and type "openserverbrowser" without the quotation marks, then go to the custom tab and you'll get a list. Not all servers support joining from the server browser, but it shouldn't be hard to find one. @ The loading problems, could be your PC, I don't have those problems either :\ One problem I do have though, is after a load my character will walk jerky (well, not my character, my screen, it's like I'm lagging, but I'm not) It gets abit annoying but it goes away. Doesn't harm my gameplay, but I hope it gets fixed atleast.
  11. L4D isn't exactly "scarey", it won't make you jump like a girl. It keeps you on your toes, though. Say if you saw a spy in TF2 and you never managed to get him, you'd be constantly checking your back to make sure he's not there, basicly the same thing in L4D, you never knew what's round the corner, as well as hoping you don't get a tank or witch in a awkward situation.
  12. Official release date is 18th world wide on Steam, 18th in small (privately owned?) retail stores and the 19th in the big retail stores, Gamestop etc, and 21st in the EU.
  13. Tanks on advanced aren't too bad, hard as hell on expert. And a tip for when you're down, hold crouch, it decreases the size of your crosshair so I assume it helps with your accuracy, won't be suprised if this is fixed soon though.
  14. Wondered why I kept getting invites even when my status was offline. A invite all feature sucks, what the hell were Epic thinking?
  15. Ive had her spawn in the only train carriage that you actually have to go through. So not only was there no way around her, there was also no cover or anywhere to run to. It was a case of shoot her and hope she dove onto one of my team mates. But she sort of just went BLARGH and ran out the other side. Many lol wut were to be had. Unfortunately we went out of the frying pan and straight into a tank which cornered us all. NOT AS PLANNED. Haha, ive done this before. My group of - what id imagine were - new players had finally reached the exit and they were all shouting at me to get in but all I said was "NO" and blew their face off with my rifle. Needless to say they werent too pleased, but I found it rather amusing. Reminds me when I played on expert, we were picking off the zombies from inside the spawn room, me using the pump shotty, and just as I fired, a team mate walked into my line of fire. Now, a shotgun at point blank to the face on Expert is not pretty. Needless to say we wasted 1 med pack before we even got out of the damn spawn room >.>
  16. I'm all for that, if she doesn't spawn in awkward places. Which is one thing that worrys me, there is demerit for alerting the witch in the full game. How do you not startle her if she's out side the god damn spawn door?
  17. She only goes for the person who startled her first, so people say getting team mates to block the witch can work.
  18. Yep. But of the 3 times I have, ive only ever run into a single tank. So maybe its just the figures dont match up, since ive had less encounters ive therefore had less failures, but I really didnt find him too taxing. Like I said, it really depends on your surroundings when you do bump into one. But ive always found witches to be overly angsty. Well yea, if you can get them in a good spot they're not too bad, but all depends what your team mates do. We once got him into a train car, 2 people on either side, when he ran at one pair, they ran back while shooting and the other pair chased and shot, when he turned around to chase the other pair, they also ran back and shot. Worked pretty well. Witches though.. Get some high ground or be ready to run. I don't think they're too bad at all, some times though.. Bad things happen and they kill all of you. Oh and if you ever meet one in the last room in the demo, the minigun/turret will do some serious damage on her very quickly.
  19. I find tanks pretty easy, as long as you arent complete berks about it and youre not in a disadvantageous surrounding [i.e. closed space] all you need to do is make sure to keep a safe distance and pelt him with anything and everything. He makes mincemeat of anyone who has fallen at his wake, though, so its pretty much an instant death should he down anyone. Witches are just "OH GOD WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS JESUS CHRIST" and highly erratic. Played it on Expert (hardest difficulty) yet? That's where tanks become a BIG problem if not handled right, and they're damn hard to handle usually, never killed one without losing a man. Witches on the other hand, not so bad usually.
  20. Witches are pretty easy if handled correctly, I'd much rather see a Witch on expert rather than a Tank. Molotov her and then all 4 concentrate your fire onto her. Aslong as everyone does their job, she should go down. Unfortunetly sometimes she gets startled while you're trying to clear.. The best option then is to say a prayer, then start running and shooting and hoping she goes down. Tanks on the over hand... Gah! Buggers almost always ruin our almost perfect runs on Expert :(
  21. I bought it for the co-op :) Though the versus will be an added bonus and it'll be a blast with friends.
  22. Don't take my word for it, but I think some of the demo files you download will moved over to the L4D folder when you pre-load, or atleast they will be used by the full game. The 360 demo was 1.2gb and the PC was 3.2gb, I don't think they'd make the PC demo over twice as big and then make you download it all over again.
  23. It isn't incredibly scarey. Though, playing it on Expert is where the real fun is at. Completed it 3-4 times now on Expert... God damn is it hard. Hoping, praying that there isn't a tank round the corner and you hear one and it's like "ah.. crap...". M16 = good for Expert, allows you to pick them off, but a auto shotty is good for when you get a horde.
  24. For server browser: Enable the devolper console in the keyboard options, open it up, type "openserverbrowser" and go to the custom tab. Not all games support you joining via the server browser atm, I belive you can't join an empty server either. As for the game its self, after getting a good few run throughs on PC with a mate, and 2 other bad team mates. It was pretty damn fun, we kinda stuck together and steam rolled through taking little or no damage and the other 2.. Well we saved them too many times >.> Also, hunting rifle = BAD. Don't use it, seriously, you will help your team more using dual pistols. Auto shotgun is brutal, M16 I seem to prefer though, but the automatic guns (m16, uzi) seem to eat up ammo, never have to worry with the shotgun. Can't wait till I can play Dead Air and Death Toll. Roll on the 18th :D
  25. It has most of the full game files I think. Probally gonna use them when we can pre-load the full game. As for the PC demo.. DO WANT DEDICATED SERVERS. There's NONE. Impossible to play online, and there is no server browser. What the hell were Valve thinking when they removed the server browser? :|
