Well I have come back, tentatively, from not playing for about 65-70 days (around 2 months) and probably even longer since I've posted here... I have read a few of the RS updates like the new slayer thing?.. I think it is like wyrms or something like that. Can anyone give me a heads up on whats new? Anything new and worth doing? I saw they put in a new Distractions and Diversions, is that worth doing? Is there anything I haven't read about that is worthwhile like the additions to hunter and slayer? Things like that, what exactly have I missed out on. Also, is there any news on a new skill coming out this year or whenever? Thanks for your time ladies and gents.

This was fixed a long time ago. No method, at least that I know of, works in keeping an untrimmed skill cape. I still have a untrimmed defence because of the glitches being fixed. If they were not I would of had multiple 99's already.

So it is a reasonable way to get 99 then? Is over 1k bars an hour feasible? (no varrock armor)

Yes Sonic I have done the SoS and gotten the lamps.. I think the first 2 sections of the lumby diary require minimal amounts of exp for the lamps they give so I will go that route. I am yet to try talking to Sir Vant, so I need to get on that.

So Aging I can still do said 6 jobs then?... do they involve me gaining exp or can I just buy the items. I didn't read the Wiki article fully through so I am just assuming what it meant. Troacctid.. I am planning on getting more than 1 99 skill at once. (10 to be exact) And I was looking for ways to get the odd skills without leaving the area that I was going to get the 99's in... probably Fally ... maybe Varrock Square/West Bank.. haven't decided yet. Thanks for the info tho fellas.

I am pretty sure that I have claimed those lamps if Sir Vant is the guy from the Varrock Museum. There are no easy diaries that I can complete that I can get some lamps from? If they require me to use the skills is it at least under 500 exp for the task to be completed?

Am I missing something here?? I just tried banking a random event gift (in box form) and it would not let me...

Just like the sub-title says.. is gold a reasonable way of getting 99 smithing? (With Guants of course) I will have 166k gold after finishing off mining and need 215k... the bars get me to 96 (8k more bars needed for 97) I see no point in selling the gold ores due to the market being flooded by mass amounts of gold ore... I will probably sell the bars and buy more ores to finish off 99. I just did not know if the exp was slow coming like cannonballs or a reasonably good method for 99. I remember in the past (quite some time ago) people would suggest gold bars as a way of getting 99 smithing.

Thanks for the replies.. I did not know I could bank the random event boxes. in that case I will definitely do that. Also De Lille, thanks for the idea. I have a bunch of penguin points so maybe I could use that as a way of leveling at the party. :smile:

My 99 party is going to be coming up here within the next few months.. I was curious as to what ways there are to get exp lamps other than quests and random events? I only need 2 or 3 of them and I cannot gain exp in the following skills to obtain them: Attack Hitpoints Mining Fishing Range Thieving Cooking Prayer Magic Fletching Woodcutting Smithing That is pretty much all the restrictions I have.. Thank you.

8/10. Grats, thats my goal currently as well :smile: I don't think Living Rock Caverns "destroyed" mining either... it put it on par with everything else. People who got 99 before just need to enjoy their 99 and realize that things change.. everything isn't going to be the same forever. Good luck on your next goal. :thumbsup:

I would only do Granite with access to Humidify or the Tiara.. since you have neither then maybe you should just go with Iron (powermining or banking, whichever you prefer) But if you absolutely want to do granite, then try to get the Camulet as it teleports you right next to the granite mines. Then you can just tele to cwars bank and tele to the mines. Any other method, in my opinion, would diminish the exp to much to be worth it. I have to agree with the other 2.. If you are not using them nor plan to in the future then just sell them now. If they jump another 1m who cares you still gained your profit. And if they start to crash you will thank yourself for selling them early. I don't see the risk's outweighing the rewards on this one.. in the time it takes for them to go up in price (if they do) you probably could of made that amount and then some seeing as they won't skyrocket from 15m.. if they do rise it will be a steady SLOW increase. Sell them now, enjoy the 15m.

MW2... no other game has entered my XBox since 11/10/09... and probably won't for another month or so. Already a 58 on my first prestige. Gotta get to 10... ASAP.

98 number 8.. Hitpoints. Closing in on 98 mage.. I ran out of money <_< Also I HAVE decided to go with mining. So I am currently doing that to fund Magic as well. The party will probably ensue when I complete mining or I may go for smithing as well with all the gold ores I have. Or take a few more weeks and do thieving. Without further talking.. Thank you.

Mining... Concentrated gold..

Okay so I started it up in safe mode and started up Avast. Before the scan initiated the computer restarted itself. The menu appeared where they offer multiple options (safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with Drivers [something like that] and Start windows normally) I selected start normally to see what happens and now my computer screen is black and its been that way for about 5 minutes now. I am stuck here...

Before a few days ago my computer was running perfectly fine with no problems at all. The other day when I came home from work my friend was here waiting for me and was on the computer. No big deal I knew he was coming over and assumed he'd be on the computer. Well we were hanging out playing a bit of xbox and he is also showing me a few videos on youtube. We focus back on the game ans when he goes to get back on the comp it is frozen (or at least the mouse or keyboard would not work) I check the plugs and tell him to just turn the comp off and back on again. He does and the computer starts up fine... about 15-20 minutes later it "freezes" again, like before the keyboard and mouse wouldn't move. Again we turn it off and repeat the process. It happens about 3 or 4 more times so eventually I just turn it off and leave it off. Yesterday, after he leaves I try to figure out what the problem is with the computer. I start it up and go on the net, I go to log into RS and right as I click log in a blue screen flashes up on my computer screen and the only words I remember seeing, though there was a lot more, were Crash and Dumping. After the blue screen the computer shuts down and does not restart. I turn the computer back on and it goes to the black screen, I select start windows normally and it does not freeze on me. I let it sit and get on xbox and the computer goes to sleep. When I go to activate it out of sleep the monitor stays off (the light is orange, usually signifying sleep) and won't turn blue when I click/move the mouse or press keys on the keyboard. So I assume that the computer has frozen yet again. I restart it and start it up in safe mode and it freezes before fully loading up my desktop screen. Now it continues to do the keyboard/mouse freezing. My friend insists he did nothing on the computer but I am unsure what websites he went to and whether or not he got me a virus unknowingly or not. I am not a computer guy by any means, I can work my way around one but lingo and the command prompts or whatever I know nothing about. My friend is also not a computer person nor does he play computer games. This is just a little background info I don't know what helps. My computer is a Gateway but as for more than that I have no idea what type etc etc specs and this and that no idea. I have Free Avast running as far as virus scans going but I have yet to been able to get a chance to run a scan without the computer freezing on me. OS is Vista if that matters. Is there anything I can possibly do?

I can't give you an estimate that's true to the prices to date but I can tell you that 94-97 mage cost me roughly 26m with string jewellery using holy symbols.

I agree with Zaaps it is a nice tool to have. I remember suggesting this (not taking credit for its addition) but I was ecstatic when I found out it was added to the game. Strangely enough I am actually surprised with the amount of time I have spent playing over the last 5 years, only 166 days, I thought I played a lot more than that. I don't see why people would NOT want to see how long they have played unless you feel as though you play too much, but then again this could be a driving factor in your thoughts of quitting or continuing play. Makes sense why they added it to me... :huh:

Sorry for the long time before I replied, I kind of forgot I made the topic. As for an OS, I do run Windows Vista. Currently I went with what Strago gave me, just using a download able timer. This will probably be what I stick with, I don't know why I didn't think of it in the first place. Thanks to all of you who replied.

The other day I heard there was a way to see the total time played on your account.. is this really possible? I tried to find it but could not, can someone tell me how?

I will agree with what the above said. That's about the best you could start at.
