  1. My school that I attended in 6th grade (in Kansas) allowed us to bring pocket knives to school so long as we deposited them at the office before going to class. Apparently kids there liked pocket knives. This old friend of my father once gave me a nice, antique Kershaw pocket knife before we moved, but I have since lost it. Now I'm sad. Oh, and I don't get a raging flip about this story. [cabbage] happens. People are idiots. Whatever. EDIT: Here's a picture of the knife, if anyone's interested: RIP Knifey. :(
  2. HEGEMON! ------------------ Hehe, the Japanese military is running out of South Africa with its tail between its legs, from SWITZERLAND. ----------------- A Constitution is being drafted for the British-American Federation.
  3. Ahh. I thought you were referring to the whole bit: national defense, health care, police force, etc. I'm personally just referring to some stats I found for the current US defense budget.
  4. Doom -- I'm fairly sure the US government's budget is more than 1% of the total GDP. Although it's safe to go with the 20% of 20% rule if you aren't sure of your budget. Anyway, the upkeep cost makes sense. I would recommend researching how much it costs to maintain a typical ship and how much it costs to maintain weaponry, armor, vehicles, etc. It'd obviously be easier to maintain a rifle that it would be to maintain a ship because the latter is either constantly on the open sea or in port.
  5. We're talking about whenever Beta status is declared over, whether or not Jagex will do a reset on people who were in Beta just for the sake of resetting -- not to fix any bugs. Anyway, when I started playing, I understood it that the game was live and was just in Beta stage in order to work out a few kinks, so if they do a reset that isn't a last resort for a bug fix, then I'd seriously be pissed off because I've already built up a community on the game and stuff. I agree. JCredits are ridiculous. With vouchers, it costs 50(!) vouchers to purchase one labour bill. With JCredits, you can buy one for 18 cred. Those are mandatory if you want to even be able to play, to be honest.
  6. A lot of people are asking Jagex to reset the game after Beta is over, which is stupid. Anyway, Jagex hasn't told us whether or not it will be reset, and they promised that it would be answered by now. It hasn't. Anyway, who's quitting the game if they reset?
  7. Moon Pies and RC Cola would've been more hilarious, in my opinion. There was a black guy on an old America's Most Wanted show that was named Royal Cola. FAIL.
  8. On the map, it appears to be separate.
  9. Spain votes against admission into the Franco-German Empire. Holland and the Netherlands come together in order to form the Dutch Republic. (I'm not sure if it makes sense for Belgium and Luxembourg to either join the Dutch Republic or the Franco-German Empire.)
  10. Dusty-- The Federation (US, Canada, and UK) would likely be interested in some production from the Slavic Republic, but we haven't decided yet.
  11. Well I already know my budget, so...
  12. [hide=Future Map][/hide] The Federation is engaging with talks with Holland and the Netherlands in order to form the Dutch Republic and giving it protectorate status. We wish to see the Dutch as an independent people. Similar offers are being made to Luxembourg and Belgium as well. And the Irish Republic.
  13. I'll accept only 50 million at the highest, but that's still absurd. You might as well duke it out or try to look for some more land.
  14. It's not even 50 million. More like 5 million, I think.
  15. Retech... I'll let it slide with the UN. I'd say that you two are on fair ground for warfare. Just do it and see the outcome.
  16. Why don't you two dish it out over a war?
  17. Indonesia's still green. What are you talking about?
  18. Acts of Federation between the United States and the United Kingdom still continues. EDIT: Welcome back dungeon! :) We're still using #hegemony, I presume.
  19. I was told that there was a plebiscite in Indonesia. If you want it so badly, declare war on the Confederation! Geez.
  20. Indonesia has voted to stay neutral, effectively snubbing both parties: Australia and Japan. It is bolstering its defenses and has joined the Confederation (ooh the irony!).
  21. Catalonia has seceded from Spain, as per the public ballot.
  22. The Yukon has been granted Statehood and is the 62nd State of the Union. There are two territories of the Canadian tundra that will be granted statehood after some infrastructure programs in the regions: Nunavut Territory and the Northwest Territory. This is all in effect after the 5 day deal or whatever.
