  1. There is no problem with space stuff (as in what we have now). There is a catch, though: -An international treaty banning weapons in space. -The fact that we won't have interstellar travel for a long, long time.
  2. In 18 hours, it will be 2012. NASA would like to remind everyone that the solar flare is DEFINITELY coming in 2012. It shouldn't cause any catastrophes on the surface, but it is capable of disrupting satellites and making your cellphone lose its signal. There may be some droughts in areas, though. It is also imperative to make some safety preparations for residents on the International Space Station since the radiation can penetrate the core of the ISS and potentially harm the astronauts.
  3. Ah, the good ol' [cabbage] storm over the Muhammad cartoon. You do know that the Dutch cartoonist that drew the picture had his house broken into not long ago by some illiterate Somali (who was sent by some extremist group) that tried to stab the man or something like that. I'm pretty sure it ended up with the bastard getting shot by the police because the cartoonist had beefed up security. I'm not a fan of Islam at all. Then again, I'm not a fan of religion in general.
  4. Yeah, and some exact figures as to what exactly happened in the campaign would be nice as well, since we would know about all that anyway. Not to mention the new Malaysian weapons; we would need descriptions for those since we saw them on the battlefield and had reports about them whenever Mobile Infantry retreated on Planet K. As some economic warfare, an embargo has been placed against Malaysia, considering the circumstances. ------------------------------- With the absence of the Mechos, TFed has assumed full control over Orojike and any remaining bodies in Sega-Res.
  5. [broadcast] Earth has been conquered. Long live the Federation! [faint sound in the background] Gloria, Gloria, Viktoria Sieg Heil! [broadcast fades out] The Terran Federation has received some descriptions of the new Malaysian weapons from commanding officers before the Mobile Infantry retreated. Military scientists are looking for a way to counteract this weapon. The entire Federation has set the status to Defcon 1. George VII lauds the Malaysian government for allowing its mining company on Planet K to fire upon the ships participating in the war games, thereby instigating the invasions.
  6. The ruling is the fact that not the entire population is armed with guns and all that jazz. This is a continuation of real life history. The only armed forces Malaysia has are their standing army and their reserves (militia), along with some Indian troops. Fit for service =/= armed forces With that said, China currently has the largest standing army, and the US has the second largest. The US also holds the title of "best equipped".
  7. It doesn't mean that they are trained. Malaysia has a 110,000 standing army and 41,600 militiamen. It has some paramilitary as well, but that's only 20-30,000 or so.
  8. China still has 1 million troops versus Malaysia and India's combined force of 650,000 troops.
  9. Malaysia: 110,000 41,600 110,000 active and 41,600 reserve. China would probably win.
  10. ((Don't forget his campaign in Sinabo as well.))
  11. ((Ross blowing up the universe was already decided against, remember? Dusty and I threw a fit over it, lol. Also, the Aryans have invaded the Local Sector anyway and are under Dusty's command.))
  12. ((Archi, when will we get the results for the war on Hegemony V2?))
  13. The United States replies that the Japanese foolishly handled the situation, resulting in their ships being fired on by the tanker captain. "The captain was not released immediately," said a senior diplomat to Japan, "therefore, they took it as a hostile act and fired on your ships."
  14. Oh, it was aimed primarily just to improve the areas where poorer people live and perhaps increase their quality of life somewhat. Also, it will attract middle-class housing as well, but it doesn't mean people are tossed out of their homes. We're just trying to stimulate areas that are used to being repulsive to new home-buyers in order to "bust out ghettos" and improve the welfare of everyone.
  15. NASA predicts that the solar flare will strike sometime in 2012 (the one that was predicted in 2006 or whatever IRL). Preparations are being taken in order to ensure that valuable satellites have minimal damage from the solar flare. A magnitude 8.3 earthquake has struck the Dominican Republic. (Haiti got lucky this time.) (By the way, Archi, what did you mean that I was an enemy of the working class?)
  16. An envoy of destroyers have been sent to allow the ships into Malaysia stating that it is a "Gross violation of human rights by allowing thousands of Malaysians to die out of political greed, and that relations between Japan and the USA could degrade even further if Japan does not stop being hostile toward its so-called 'trade partner'."
  17. It's almost mid 2011, I believe. EDIT: Also, how so?
  18. Immigration reform has been a success. The Immigration Act of 2010 was passed last year. Also, a bill regarding the infrastructure was just passed. It will tear down ghettos and other dirty areas of cities and replace them with nice, new, and affordable housing. In order to decrease the consumption of oil, we will begin building more subways and trains. The trains will be like the ones that are in Europe (bullet trains on magnetic rails). We are also stepping up efforts that will encourage more carpooling and less vehicles on our highways in order to reduce traffic, reduce the consumption of oil, and to drastically reduce vehicle-related deaths. Both the public transportation and infrastructure bills are part of the America Transportation and Infrastructure Reform Act. Also, sagging pants have been banned from public. If someone violates this law, they can be fined heavily. ----------------- Some special interest groups have lauded the new administration for being racist; however, the policies of the New American Party have been so popular that the special interest groups go unnoticed. ---------------- President Wright has pledged that steps will be taken to eliminate the influence of special interest groups. --------------- The US has accepted the TFTA due to interests in the European market. --------------- Test scores have risen slightly since the passing of the Education Act of 2009 because more competent education is provided. Nick Griffin is making a trip to the United States.
  19. Or you could just toggle the filter to 'on' and mind your business. I'd imagine that swearing would be more or less frequent, but censor evasion would drastically be reduced because it's now pointless. And how can you speak for the adult players? Some people would have a problem with it, yes, but those are the same people that can just toggle their filters back on anyway. Runescape is infested with immature players, and it always will be. If you have a problem with that, then you need to be doing something else with your time, to be perfectly honest. You can always turn your chat off at the GE if it bothers you that much.
  20. @Paul: Annexation of Vietnam is not complete. It's only been 3 days since the creation of the thread. It takes 5 days MINIMUM for all nations to annex.
  21. Why would removing the filter be bad? It's likely that it'll be censored to anyone without the right aged account, but it'll only be uncensored to yourself (which you can toggle on/off) and anyone else who has the anti-filter toggled on. It'll actually get rid of censor evasion since there would be no censor for the people who don't want it...
  22. We're voting against the EU...
  23. Okay, now I'm going to be a douche. I agree. DISBAND THE GODDAMNED EU! 3/4
  24. Obviously I don't care whether or not the EU stays together. So... I'll vote 'Keep the EU together' for the lulz.
