Any one here plays eve?

Downloaded the trial about 4 days ago, and so far I'm loving it. Getting the full game soon.

It's a very hard game and the tutorial took me just over 5 hours, but I'm still learning... Some really nice people who help me out a lot.

So, does any one here play eve online?

Feel free to give me a shout.... Username is Denic.

Thanks. :D

I've given the game a shot two times but both fell short.

I would always end up having fun for the first half of the trial and then start to get anoyed when I realize its going to take me 3 days in real time to fully get a skill up.

I don't doubt at all that its a good game but the traveling among a few other things just got me tired.

I do actually like the skill system. I think it's better that you don't have to go killing thousends of mobs to gain a level, but others may think differently.

I think it's a game you really need to have time to play and get into.

The good thing about eve aswell is that everyone is on the same server! Now that rocks.

One of the few MMOs I could see myself playing. After the trial was up though I wasn't going to pay for the game, so I haven't played it since.

To be honest I think if you know you're going to enjoy the game, why not pay for it ?

Most good MMORPG's these days have monthy fees.

No online game is worth money to me. I'm on a budget here  .

Look at the "Try Now" banner.

- Denic.

The game deffinitly is talored to a specific kind of person.

I may end up trying it again later on the road, seems everytime I start I learn some new stuff. You deffinitly need a good org though, its a must to enjoy all the games content. ( I never got the chance to get into PvP on the trial, and mining/missions get boring).

Well, as far as I can gather, the only things in EVE are Mining, missions and PvP.

I haven't tried PvP out either yet, I've been mostly mining.... Earned me some nice cash.

It's an amazing game with a mature community but the stores around here don't sell Eve Time Cards.

I agree with you their on both things...

One thing I'm going to be stuffed for is getting an eve time card.... It looks like I'm going to have to use my brothers credit card.

The thing that shocks me though is that they actually LET you buy eve time cards with ISK! (ISK = Game currency)

Their is a section on their website dedicated to it... One 30 day eve time card is usually 150Mil.

Used to play it a while back. Pretty fun game, heavily into PvP.

This happened a little bit back and put me off trying to start playing again. If you couldn't be bothered or don't understand it, basically, a developer of the game who was part of an in game guild was found. He was forced to leave the guild, but before doing so, he gave the guild 10 of a rare item in the game. Which he later admitted were obtained illegally.

If it can be done by one developer, it can be done by more.

Wow... I don't know what it is, but to me this game doesn't seem as "professsional" as WoW.

Downtime is terrible.... Server is down right now... :?

I wouldn't worry about it, WoW's had its own little 'inside exploits' so to speak.

WoW's lead developer is the GM of one of the top raiding guilds in the game...It's no secret. Now, I don't know if he ever gives them secrets and hints, but, uhhh...It's kinda' a coincidence that they used to kill everything before most people, and he's the leader... :-w

Lots of dev's and GM's play on anonymous characters. None of them have been "outted" except the lead dev, and he makes no secret of it, really, from what I hear.

Makes me wonder if I've ever played with a dev or GM before. :P

Yeah tigole (I belive) is the head GM of a large raiding guild. And a slight coincidence -- he's also the raid designer. #-o .

The problem I was talking about was when his server was allowed character transfers onto a PvP realm from a PvE...

I didn't know things like that went on in WoW.

Why would you want to play your job? o.0

He's only a part in raid development.

It might be part of quest development as well, I can't remember.

pro tip: Tigoles characters 'full name' is "Tigole Bitties"

pro tip #2: Switch the first leters of each name around.

sounds like a cool game

Got bored of Eve.... Don't really like the aspect of combat/missions.

It's all the same, using the same fighting style etc.... For me it just seems too much of the same thing...

Oh well, I'm renewing my WoW subscription tommorow. :)

Some things that have ticked me off also is that people who play eve will slag WoW off, saying it's full of little kids and has a bad community... And the thing is, you ask them if they've played WoW and they say no. :-s

Also, they think they are superior all because they know lots of stuff about an online game, which in their eyes is "complex."

/Rant over.
