Well, over the past 2 days I log into general p2p forums to find...the same exact topics on the exact same page. I think its time for something new.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is a bit of a poll, because im bored, and we need something new to talk about.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And seeing as "what if" tpoics arent allowed, it makes it a bit hard.

What is your opinion on rares?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Are they pointless (like they were meant to be)

 

 

 

Do they secretly control runescapians?

 

 

 

Do you own 99 zillion phat sets?

 

 

 

or do you have enough money for 99 zaillion phat sets, but dont want to buy them?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I personally don't care about rares, back in my old days of playing runescape I merchated 400k, bought a green mask, traded for blue, then had some neb trade me red+200k for blue.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sold it later for less than I bought it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I saved up 2.8m and had more than enough money for a red phat, but didnt care enough to buy it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Today, I dont consider myself rich, I cannot afford any rares, in my opinion Stats>money.

i own several rares

 

 

 

most people think rares are just to show off how rich you are

 

 

 

they spend weeks or months to be able to afford a rare just to show people you are rich

 

 

 

it's not really like that

 

 

 

rares cost money but they also make money

 

 

 

staking with rares, merching hats, etc etc

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

same as getting something like 91 runecrafting, you spend time to get it so you can make more money

There's no item in the game more useful than a rare. If you have one, you love them. If you don't, you hate em. They keep a lot of elements of the economy in line. They're really interesting economically. Sometimes they'll grow exponentially, others they'll stop without explanation. They provide a really fun extra facet to the game, merchanting. They look great. They're cool status symbols. And they in a sense symbolize, at least to me, good nostalgia of rs1.

I would rather spend the money on skills. I spent all my money on 99 Prayer instead of getting a party hat. But skills + phat owns heh :XD:

but i think they are a vital part of the game for f2pers and p2pers

I myself don't like them. I really don't like to waste 20M+ on just making a mask a diferent color. Especially if you don't have anything else to do, don't buy a wearable rare. Spend it on armour and such, that's what I did :)

Well, I'd rather buy a bunch of barrows armors and a fury/berserker ring than a santa hat or mask, but if I ever get enough money for a phat, then I would probably sell all but maybe guthans to buy one.

Well I am personally happy with my 1 party hat that I saved for. I know it's 'useless' but it is a symbol, and something that I can hold on to for a long time.

Party hats make you different. They are indeed power symbols - someone calls you a noob, take out your hat.
