Should I train my range using arrows or throwing knives?

I'm getting ready to train my range from 50 to 70, and I don't know which kind of weapon I should use. Should I use arrows due to the ranged bonus that come from the bow, or should I train using throwing knives because of their speed? I'm at a loss of which to choose, can I get some feedback on which to use and why? Thanks. :D

Most people use throwing knives because they are really fast. I personally like the bow better because I like seeing higher hits. If I were you I would try both ways and see which one you you like.

i'd rather use arrows because i like seeing higher numbers rather than low numbers fast

depending on what monster you train on...

 

 

 

if low def like giants. i say knives, more damage over time

The only time i use arrows would only be against high def monsters: dragons etc. Otherwise, in fighting low def monsters like giants, ogres and demons : i would say knives/darts

i agree with the two posts above mine. It really depends on what kind of monster you are training on. I personally train on fire giants. I find that mith arrows are about the equivalent to me using iron knives without a shield. Also, I found that people with around 80 range (full black, snakeskin boots, accumulator, archer helm, MSB etc.) and iron arrows could easily beat me to a kill using knives. (full red, snakeskin boots, archer helm, glory, ROW etc.) The ranged bonus of the magic shortbow and the arrows you use are really the main factors. ALWAYS use the highest armor, magic shortbows give I think a plus 60 odd bonus. Try opinions from 90+ rangers lolz.

Knifes are better xp. But bow + arrows is alot cheaper.

if you worried about money use the blast furnace to make steel or mith knives. its really fast and alot cheaper than buying the ores and using reg furnace.
