Well, took me a few hours, but I finally finished it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Perhaps it's not really a comet, and just the aftermath of Major Tom's exploits in space. ;O

Just did a silly 15 minute portrait to get used to coloured pencils again...

I really like your work on the metoeoroid, but I don't get why it appears to be burning up. Meteor's only burn like that when they are encountering friction (Example: Earths Atmosphere). The background is really boring though, only like 6 stars and Earth.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

P.S: How did you make the meteoroid?

Layered colours like one would draw a fire, then dithered.

Forgot about that, mabey try to make a light blur effect on the comet. I think some more detail on the stars would be good too.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What is that very dark swirl to the right of the comet? It looks like a pinwheel galaxy.

I adore the effect on the meteor/comet-thing. Interesting way of texturing it, and it looks very impressive.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Not much to crit on, really; though as said above the background is, well, boring. :P Either make the canvas smaller to just have the focus on the meteor and the planet (I assume it's Earth? :P), because at the moment there's just too much empty space.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Highlight is definitely the meteor, but the Earth is very cute too. I want to hug it.

The comet's lookin' pretty swell. I think it may 'round out' a bit too much on the bottom left, however. The trail on it's looking pretty good. ;P

i like the shading on the comet, but hes not going to blow up the earth, because its missing the earth with that angle :lol:

 

 

 

Also the shape of the comet is realy rare.

 

 

 

But i agree with the rest, the background is very empty. Maybe make more stars and shade them a bit more. ( if ur looking for an exemple ill mayeb could find one...)

Totally adore that portrait though, where have you learned to draw? I'm somewhat autodidactic on drawing, and not even in the slightest even close to how you shade and just draw altogether! (even though you did it in like 15 minutes and still aren't satisfied...) :shock: =D>

Well I finaly got around to those effects I said I was going to do.

 

 

 

Here are the results:

 

 

There not much different than yours, I used Paint.Net and added some zoom blurs to the comet, along with gaussian blurs to the comet and Earth. Also added a few little stars and a big star.

Personally I prefer the sharper pixelart look, but I see what you were trying to articulate ;D

I think I might just move onto a more straightforward, planned out seen.
