April 3, 200719 yr Hello and Welcome to my RuneCrafting Guide! 1. Overview of the Abyss 2. Requirements 3. Inventory 4. Tactics 5. Questions Overview The Abyss is one of the fastest ways to craft runes. It gives access to Runecrafting altars (providing you have done the quest needed) without a talisman! I would only recommend crafting chaos upward through the abyss. The runes below mainly have a bank situated nearby so are not worth the risk. As always, there are cons. The Zamorakian Mage is in level 5 wilderness (you need to speak to him so you can teleport to the abyss). This makes you prone to be being pk'ed. Also once being in the abyss your prayer is drained to 0 and you are skulled! Lifes not fair eh? Requirements In order for access to the Abyss you need to complete a miniquest for the Zamorakian mage. I will write a guide for this soon. I would say you would need at least 50-60 Defence as the monsters inside hit quite hard and it is a multicombat area :ohnoes:. You will need- The best d'hide you can wear  A pickaxe/woodcutting axe  1 or 2 pieces of decent food (lobster +) depending on your defence. A teletab incase you are attacked by a pk'er. An amulet of Glory to teleport back to Edgeville. Inventory Here is a picture of my standard inventory. As you can see I have a falador teletab, my essence pouches to help carry more essence and 2 monkfish to help against pk'ers and monsters in the abyss. In order to help speedy crafting it is recommended to have a large supply of decent food in your bank, instead of standing in a bank between every run trying to buy some. Here is what I wear. It provides a good mage defence which helps me escape from pk'er ancient ice spells or teleblock. The boots of lightness reduce my weight meaning I can run for longer. The axe is for cutting the tendrils in the abyss. Also the duelling ring is incase I forget to switch glories when uncharged. Some people recommend a Ring of Life but I've never fallen that low in hp, but try it anyways ;) Tactics I have a very good tactic, which can easily fool the pker. What I do is cross the bridge as if I was heading to Varrock. I then run alongside the river and sprint to the Zamorakian Mage. Pk'ers would normally expect me to run straight into them, they ain't that lucky :
April 3, 200719 yr Good guide, I like the pics Maybe a lil' bit more time. other than that, good guide. 8/10? ~Lee~ P.S. The only reason you got an 8 is because i think there are other guides like this out there. 3,200 to 99 FishingAchieved August 25, 2007
April 3, 200719 yr Seems pretty good, but a tip is that you should type the whole thing out on MS Word or a similar program, then copy and paste it when it is COMPLETELY finished. If the whole guide continues like this 7/10 ~It's Super Effective! (The Zaaps Blog)~My YouTube Channel, where you get to watch me go around and make a fool out of myself and all comp capersGuides:~Yeah I wrote them once~Suggestions:~Yeah I made those once~

April 3, 200719 yr Author way better than mine :P Are you going to be extending it to 80+? ~~~Gudi~~~ I am infact only combat 80 myself :( so I might in a while.. I might get my higher lvl friends to help though.
April 3, 200719 yr Hmm but there are a few things I dont understand. Why steel axe? Its much easier to bring pick. Why food? 2 food aint gunna save ur lfie if they got u stuck. Your way is not that safe if you use it everytime. The PKers will learn Blue d hide? Your not experianced in abyss Rcing are you? Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. PM me if you want to chat. My PM is always off. My keyboard is on fire. Want some?
April 4, 200719 yr Correct me if I'm wrong, but does your inventory + armor really weigh 43Kg? Cause...if it does, you won't be running very much. Quest Cape gotten.Fire Cape gotten at 92 cb, no guthans.
April 4, 200719 yr It gives access to all altars Astral runes cannot be made through abyss Golden Sun= the best game ever made?Farming and construction are dumb. I am proud to have level 1 in both. How to write very bad guides (B3$7 3\/4R!!!!1)

Pk'ers would normally expect me to run straight into them, they ain't that lucky : You will only need a pickaxe, not a woodcutting axe. Might I suggest a mith pick? When it comes to the abyss it does not matter which pick you use, they all mine the same rate. Mith is also the only pickaxe that weights 0.00kg. Also- you are going to need waaay more than 1 to 2 peices of food if you want to become a serious runecrafter. I'd say on average I eat 10 monkfish a day when seriously runecrafting. I see your point of bringing food, after all I suppose even medium levels need them in the abyss. Although I am pretty sure I got by ok without food in my inventory(rather stored in my bank) when I was combat 70. Might I suggest the ectophial for a one click teleport? Not only does it have unlimited uses, it teleports you near a bank and is easily replacable if lost. I've noticed a couple things wrong with your equipment. Some of it really doesn't make sence at all. I'd rather not explain it here, just go to my guide. Your backway path that you take can really add up time wise. Also there are no skeletons to protect you and most pkers out there are not idiots- like most stereotypes suggest. They know when they're being tricked and will attack you. Also please refer to my Strategy section in my guide. Overall, a good start :) . It needs some more pictures though and a bit more information. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .
April 4, 200719 yr Nice guide, 8.5/10 You loss 1.5 points because you didnt talk about the hunter capes and using the skeletons to cover you as you move towards the zammy mage. A would also like to add that a few pkers will wait on the eastern side of the bridge just below the wildy waiting for rcers to walk past. With the new home teleport you don't really need a dueling ring, so you can replace it with a ring of life just in case. Auto retaliate should be turned off your you'll risk dieing. [hide=Drops]Dragon Axe x11Berserker Ring x9Warrior Ring x8SeercullDragon MedDragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kcGodsword Shard (bandos)Granite Maul x 3Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats][/hide]
April 4, 200719 yr Author Also- you are going to need waaay more than 1 to 2 peices of food if you want to become a serious runecrafter. I'd say on average I eat 10 monkfish a day when seriously runecrafting. I have 400 Monkfish in the bank, althought I carry 2 incase the monsters in the abyss get lucky. And the steel axe is because it was a random drop from a monster. I don't bring a pickaxe because my Wc is higher ;)

I don't use skeletons because I have a different route. Also my hunter is 6 lol, I don't know much about spotted capes. Do they help?
April 4, 200719 yr Author Correct me if I'm wrong, but does your inventory + armor really weigh 43Kg? Cause...if it does, you won't be running very much. Sorry, I was standing in Seers Bank when I took the pic. I had all my armour, I'll take a new pic :)

In fact this whole guide seems to be pointed at that. You should also mention that you will need a large supply of monkfish in your bank, it's a bit deceiving when you only say 1 or 2. April 4, 200719 yr Also my hunter is 6 lol, I don't know much about spotted capes. Do they help? Yep, the hunter capes help quite a lot in the long run as you end up using less energy pots. Which saves more time and means you can make more money. Spotted Reduces your weight (between 2 and 3 kg) Spottier Greatly reduces weight (between 4 and 5 kg) Penance Gloves also reduce your weight, but they are hard to get and therefore not ideal for abyss RC'ing.
