mujtaba
A Guide To Help You Smelt Steel Bars (useless guide #1 of many to come) Things to note: - i am F2p - i didn't master these tricks quickly took some practice. - once i did it really helped me double my steel bar production - i can do 500+ bars an hour. (if sell those for 650 ea that's like... umm... alot :-w ) - i only turned off my private chat, public chat, and trade/complete off for this guide otherwise they are always set to "On" - if anything is inaccurate about my guide please tell me and i will fix it (yes i meant the spelling and grammar too) - this guide was done after logging in and out many times but if you run through it like the way i have shown it should work. (money back guarantee) - i smelt most of my bars in world 128 - i rearely switch worlds, if i do it is because i am trading with someone -plz if you take the time to read this plz post (it can be anything from wtf is this?!?! it wastes my time -to- wow, this wasn't bad at all it really helped me out) : - my first guide ever for anything : ) Tabele of Contents 1.0 - Introduction 2.0 - Requirements 3.0 - Inventory 4.0 - Walk through 5.0 - Tips and Tricks 6.0 - your suggestions/pics. 7.0 - Credits 8.0 - Final comments 1.0 - Introduction I have lately been trying to get my smithing lvls up and have been smelting a lot of steel bars in Al-Kharid. I have seen lots of people smelt bars along with me and well i was surprised to see at what they were doing. 1. Wearing heavy Armours (A BIG NO-NO) - Any armour is a no-no (i mean metals or any armers that have weight) 2. Running back from bank and walking to bank :-k - Why is this a problem???? well when smelting bars like steel you originally carry a lot more weight when coming to the furnace then the weight you carry when returning to the bank. 3. Standing at the furnace after they were done smelting - well it does happens a few times but i have seen some people stand for like a minute (exageration but seems like it) after they were done smelting. 2.0 - Requirements - 30 smithing (for STEEL??) - 0 weight carried (before holding ores) - iron ore - coal ore -a rune of some sort 3.0 - Inventory You might be thinking... where the [bleep....] are the pictures?!?! Well Now that the real guide begins i will share them with you. Before you start you inventory should look like this.. What you wear is completely up to you.. here is what i prefer to wear. **Note the 0 kg??? (that is a must as long before you have ores your total weight is 0 kg you can use this guide)** what your ores should look like... Amounts of ores: -9 iron -18 coal - any sort of rune (this way you get 9 steel bars) Set-up - put the _____ rune anywhere you prefer (i have found it easier to put it at the bottom) - then the 9 iron (whereever you prefer) - then the 18 coal (wherever you prefer) Ways to withdraw: - Have the ores so they are accesible from the same bank screen - first press "withdraw all coal" - second store all your bars - third "withdraw all iron" 4.0 - Walk through Since you will be walking to the furnace from the bank i will only discuss what you do once you are at the furnace. Tips: - try to click "Smelt Furnace" before you reach the furnace. So you've read this far... you must really want to know how to increase your steel bar production... well you'll see that it's worth it  (hopefully) Once in the furnace room: - alright the red rectangle is a guideline to tell you what to look for when looking for where to keep your cursor. - the red dot is to tell you where you should be ready to RIGHT click once the the bar slot (you know the thing with all the different types of bars to make) pops up. Look at the next pic you'll see what i mean. If you kept your mouse at the red dot or somewhere between the red rectangle it should've looked like this when the bar slot popped up. - boo yeah!!!! it works \ While Smelting: - you can talk to friends - check other sites - but you do need to adjust your screen like the following. **Note the plant??? .. you need to have about half of it showing when you adjust your camera view. this is a guidline for what you will do once you are done smelting. Almost done smelting those bars? Well once you are almost done smelting the bars you need to find a bank display screen that will look something like this. **NOTE: You want the second of the two that says "use-quickly Bank booth" a good way to find this is... - start at the left of you screen (fairly high) - slowly move to the right until you find "use bank booth / 6 more options" (shows up at the top-left corner of your screen) - if you are doing it right first you will see a ""use bank booth / 3 more options" then the next one over will be the 6 more options... (right click on it and select the second one. - on the right side of the bank will be another ""use bank booth / 3 more options" that might mess you up. - just try it a few times and you should get it :). Things to look out for - sometimes you will move your mouse over it fairly quickly so try not to rush it... - it is the second one from the left that you should come across... - what i mean by the above statement is... the first bank booth will have 3 other options and the second bank booth will have 6 other options.. you want the second one. advantages??? - well once you click run you wont have to click bank again. where to start running? you should start running once you step just out of the building with the furnace... - have your run energy screen viewable right after you click "use bank booth / 6 more options" and after you have chosen second of the two. - let your run energy go down to about 92 and then it will be full as soon as you are done smelting you next round of ores.. (if a picture for where to start and end running is necesary plz tell me and i will post one) - you will not need to pres bank again as long as you do this properly (i mean dont click on the runescape play screed or the map. and your bank will open up as soon as you reach it. 5.0 - Tips and Tricks - always try to be prepared with your next click - for the max production of bars try to get away from all distractions ------- - i mean like try not to talk to people too much (i still haven't been able to do this :P) ------- - try not to trade other people for smelting or other things like that. - try to take regular breaks between smelting to not get too bored.. - in between smelting take a break and visit other sites... (like tip.it  ) - dont be limited to this guide but ALWAYS use what you feel comfortable using. 6.0 - Your suggestion/pics nazaric- for the rune bit. 7.0 - Credits Jagex Tip.it And you For reading this : ) 8.0 Final Comments Please if you find any mistakes from this guide tell me and i will fix it. any advice on this will be greatly appeciated. jimmy6691
nice guide, not seen a guide similar to this 1 Amounts of ores: -10 iron -18 coal (this way you get 9 steel bars and 1 ore left over. this is best way to ste-up you will see as you read on) a little grammer mistake

asd1234
good guide but there could be a few minor tweaks 1. instead of having to carry 10 iron+18 coal you could carry 9 iron+18 coal+1 air/water/earth/etc rune so you save some weight 2. also when banking you can withdraw as many coal as you can (so 18 coal) then put the steel bars back in and take you the iron ore. this way so you dont need to go to X # of ores and stuff. Zaaps1
Also when you deposit the bars, you should withdraw the 18 coal first, then deposit, then withdraw the iron. This way you don't gotta enter in 18 or all that fun stuff. Great guide, 8/10, learned a lot. ~It's Super Effective! JPMC Mate
it was a good guide. There are very few guides that tell you exactly where to put the cursor on the place to make it more easier.Great job on the guide, btw.I give it a 10/10. Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

Manwe
max is 750-1000 from al kharid in one hour. I wouldn't suffer anyone to see that youtube video. glad to see another f2p smither. I did that till members. 750-1k can be achieved if you click every ore yourself. Click the iron by having rune LAST... You walk to furnace like you said and then do a walk (only while switching to run screen) run to the bank. Personal best was 771 in an hour. Friend reported 1k but i doubt it. skeroh
pretty good guide, very nice for a first guide. i didn't know that you could one-click from the furnace to deposit bank. you might want to put that i think you can one-click from bank to smelt furnace. Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)
mujtaba
pretty good guide, very nice for a first guide. i didn't know that you could one-click from the furnace to deposit bank. you might want to put that i think you can one-click from bank to smelt furnace. you probably can but it is just faster to walk towards furnace and click "smelt furnace because you dont have to close the bank screen and look for the furnace... but if you are walking towards furnace and adjust the furnace you click smelt furnace from pretty far :)
