Gazzy
HYT! now ive finally done that for once.... Its simple really. All you do is say what you think is the bestest movies ever. All you do is fill out the form and go! Name Of Movie: Catagory: Why: [hide=Rules]You Can vote for as many as you like in the catagories. To make the final, your movie must be picked 3 times by three people. [/hide] [hide=Catagories] Best Horror Best Comedy Best Classic Best Animation Best Romance Best Sport Film Best Sci Fi Film And the Ultimate Catagory..... The Ultimate Movie 2007!!!!! (Its just the winners of the other 7 catagories in a free-for-all to decide the winner.)[/hide] [hide=Format]Heres what happens. Heats: On this thread, you post your movie using the code above. Then if your movie is chosen as well by two other people, It goes on the shortlist to its final. There are only a maximum of 10 places in each final, so the top ten in each catagory go through. If a tie, the first one to get their three goes through. Finals: On a seperate thread, the finals will be held. I write the list down and then you put your favourite from the list. Voting would usually last two weeks. The one in 1st place is the winner of their catagory and goes through to the grand final of the whole competition. If theirs a tie, I exend the contest 1 more week to the top ones. Grand final: The top ones in each catagory go to the grand final, which is lke the final, exept it lasts a month. The winner of this is the bestest film ever! Since 2007, of course..... [/hide] Pick your favourites, now! GO GO GO GO GO! \ \ \ \ \ \ \ Voting closes May 31st. Edit: Please give me ideas for genres! Are you sick and tired of people telling you what to put in your sig? So am I. No, don't put this in your sig, you'll be doing what THEY want! RebelAssassin
i can remmember this being done about a year ago, not sure which movie won it in the end. And no action films? www.PETAkillsanimals.com
1_man_army
meh one of the LOTR films will end up winning this  sorry I just despise LOTR. Every time there is a contest like this on the internet every teenager who hasn't seen many 'quality' films votes for LOTR. Bubsa
We tried a 'through the decades' competition as well, which bombed unfortunately, due to lack of interest and support for Daan. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
indy500fan
We tried a 'through the decades' competition as well, which bombed unfortunately, due to lack of interest and support for Daan. We just tried to revive it less than a month ago, I think it only got one or two replies though. Also, this could work, but the categories kind of suck. The movies by decade is still better though. The 80's one went well. I think the problem was that not enough users had seen enough 50's films to form enough of an opinion on the subject. It's a shame I was enjoying that thread. Bubsa
I'd definately like to carry on down that road, though. Generic 'best movie' things will never ever be a good reflection. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
1_man_army
I'd definately like to carry on down that road, though. Generic 'best movie' things will never ever be a good reflection. Yeah I enjoyed them too but the problem is that the average user is quite young so it makes these things difficult. Right I'm going back to watch the rest of Dead Man's Shoes, that film is haunting. How2PK
The movies started around 1890. But I guess that other than myself there's not much people who saw any movies from that period. :P So, I'd say start around 1910/1920. Mercifull
Why dont we try genres instead of eras? Comedy (perhaps a bit too generic tho) but Horror and Scifi you could create a nice list. britrockdude
I agree, genre's are much easier to go by. I mean, I saw probably one of the best comedies I've ever seen the other day: "little miss sunshine". Or was it more of a dromedy? magekillr
Name Of Movie: Misery Catagory: Horror Why: absolutely terrifying. it has no super natural in it, making it that much more believable. it required no gore (except a few scenes..), and the use of connotation was outstanding. after seeing it i kept picturing Kathy Bates standing above my footbed with a sledgehammer for a while :ohnoes:
indy500fan
Hope my last post wasn't misinterpreted as meaning you should do decades instead of genres, I was just pointing out the decade one worked well. Also, your genre selection didn't seem quite right.
