CheapMark
I just got 75 woodcutting (yay?) and i wanted to cut yew/mages. I was wondering if buying a d wc axe is actually worth it? Does it have a faster woodcut-rate than rune? ~Blurite44 Cheap Mark - Going for 1050 Total
DEV1L
im lvl 92 wood cutting and i think the dragon axe is not much faster than rune, possibly only about 5% faster if even that! but if you have around 3m and your planning on wood cutting for a bit, get one you can allways sell it at a later date for what you paid for it. Abraham1123
It's 15% faster. I don't like it because losing a 3m axe hut sucks.
junka666
It's a waste unless you're going for like 200m xp.

Harrington
From what I've read on other forums... the dragon hatchet gradually improve the longer you use it (per login). This means you won't notice much difference immediately, but apparenly it can reach efficiencies of 12% over rune (measured over thousands of logs)
AirlessWig
Why not buy a dragon axe, use it and resell it? I prefer a dragon axe to chop yews, it's faster and you'll notice it. Click here for my guide on how to solo the D Kings
Captainkidd
It is worth it.
Owned_Nex
Definatly not. Althou if you want to powr cut to 99 or soemthing, its not worth it. You will only notice a differnece every 10k cuts, and the prices of this axe is falling, so cutting, then selling, might not break even. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. Kaphias
If you are going to be cutting for a while, buy it and sell as not to lose much money as the prices drop. 8,325th to 99 Firemaking 3/9/08 | 44,811th to 99 Cooking 7/16/084,968th to 99 Farming 10/9/09 | Runescaper August 2005-March 2010Tip.it Mod Feb. 2008-Sep. 2008 | Tip.it Crew Sep. 2008-Nov. 2009
exdeath
When it first came out it didn't, then jagex changed it around so the dragon axe does cut trees faster. The speed increase probably isn't justified by the price (and it's probably not that much better either). I wouldn't suggest wasting money on it unless you're a serious wood cutter.
