Suggestion - Official TET Film Crew

Featured Replies

As you all know, many Tip.It users like to record TET Events, myself being one of them (I'm going to start attending events now, because the Invasion of Black Knights HQ was fun).

What I propose is the creation of an Official TET Film Crew - a small group of Tip.It'ers who's sole job will be to record the events, and upload their creations to YouTube.

These users will have to be protected in the event of filming in the Wilderness.

That would be a great idea! Then it would limit all the noobish videos on youtube. You might want to send that to saskia or laikrob, and have them review it, though.

Great Idea :!:

Nice suggestion, we are looking into this. :)

Laikrob.

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?

Events are one thing, TET already has two sub-branches of it which require a lot of work and navigation. This to me looks like a lot of work, for people who will just video events when we have users that do that already. In my opinion there can be nothing worse than watching an event on video after it's happened. Just not my idea of fun. I think theres a lot of work for a bad idea which is already being done. To be an official branch usually means you have some sort of skill, this just requires free time. Video as much as you like, i just don't think it's a good idea to add even more work to the load that is on at the moment. What will this being "official" do that not being official does not do now? Nothing.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to be sure people saw this.

The TET Crew could appoint several users from within the Tip.It community to work on this. Users like myself (I'm just saying).

Sort of branching from what Satenza said it seems like quite alot of effort for an official branch to be made, would this mean people wouldn't be allowed to make videos of TET events? There are already lots of videos made I don't see why there needs to be an official group.

Well as you can see, the leader of the TET seems to like the idea. That doesn't mean he will go ahead with it though.

Also, people can record the events if they want. An official group will mean that those who film the events can get more exposure.

And if this idea does go ahead, I don't mind volunteering my time to help. I have a lot of it just now.

You're acting like recording something on a hypercam needs a lot of skill. Sure there are certain tips and tricks but nothing that needs more 'exposure' as you call it. Correct me if i'm wrong but it appears you have your own motives here rather than looking for the benefits this could bring to TET!

Oh, ooh! *raises hand*

What if different teams filmed different place and angles? Like if someone filmed the start, while the other went ahead, and would be met by the oncoming rush of tip.iters?

I think its a good idea, but for the love of tip.it please don't make avatars for these people stating their TET Film Crew, that would be indescribably ridiculous.

Agreed with that one :D

And yea, it's nice suggestion, hope we get something like that =o

Agreed. A simple rank change would do.

Tipit need to be very careful with regards to putting any official title on videos considering the blantant copyright infringements that normaly accompanies them with regards to music etc.

It doesn't actually do anything, what is the need for exposure? I don't even think many people can be bothered to watch them. Official will make no difference for anything. It'll just add to another job for the regular TET members to maintain. Judging by how long it took for Hobgoblin to make the H1 capture video by the time it's done no one will care. Otherwise it's just another amateur video very few people will watch to be worth the effort.

she, not he :-w

It seems that there is not great need for it imo...we seem to get the same people recording the event most of the time, though a film crew would be a nice official thing for folks to see and view. Currently, as i said, its around the same people doing it, more of an unofficial thing.

A team isn't required. It's just implied that someone will do it.

WHy not just the TET already there just take it upon themselfs (If they'd like) to be the recorders and editers, ect.
