August 5, 200718 yr I personally wouldn't like this, being as I hate not having the same advantages as others. That or the fact that I always tend to get the poorer versions of the weapons no matter what I do. I do see why you'd think weapons would be different though. I mean say you have a steel scimmy (for example purposes only) that was made by smithing. One made by a smith with lvl. 99 would obviously be better than one made by a smith with lvl. 40. That or weapons from monsters should somewhat damaged or something of that nature. Even though I don't support this, don't worry. It's not a bad idea. I can see why you think it should be like this though and I think if the weapons were semi-balanced (assuming it was implemented), it might actually turn out to be a good thing. It just doesn't suit my tastes, that's all. Heres a hammer, some planks and a few nails, now all you gotta do is build a bridge and get over it. Id Suge- Latin for "Suck It"
August 5, 200718 yr Completely misses the whole point of what getting an item/pkin an item/looting an item in any other way means. First they'd be same look yet have different stats, and then things such as Smithing lvls and Fletching lvls (if you're thinking of doing this to bows too) shouldn't bring any advantages besides the fact that you can make the item. August 9, 200718 yr It's not a good idea. Look at Legend of Mir2, one of the classic games that employed this feature. A 6/6 protection ring is worth FAR more than a 5/5 protection ring, with a difference of over 4800%. A 5-41 Dragon Slayer is worth three times more than a 5-40 Dragon Slayer, despite the difference being only 2.5% of the random damage. What of the lesser items? A wooden sword can be, in principle, made as powerful as the Blade of War God, and its price would of course soar. So what about RuneScape? People would be selling more powerful abyssal whips for over 90 million while the slightly weaker versions would be playthings. EDIT> The idea of only having the basic weapon tradable is a terrible idea. A high leveled player would have ever MORE advantages over lower leveled players.
August 9, 200718 yr well... I think this is good but only for swords, you know they would get dull and if u have better smithing u could sharpen them, but there should be an npc u have to pay to sharpen it for u like maybe doric the dwarf? range- 69/70 ~ currently poor but with good stuffstrength- 64/70 ~go461-combat 71~

August 18, 200718 yr hmm.. i guess but... i think smithing the weapon should produce the sasme wuality and stats with a 10% chance of low quality and a 5% chance of high quality adn the 3 qualitys: low quality>low normal>normal name high quality>exelent adn they should have set stats for each quality also a slight image change but keep then in 1 bank spot or triple our bank space... [i.e. a slight cracked for low and a little "glimmer" for exelent] and if you have a certain smithing higher then the lvl to make it you can get 3-5 mroe bars adn make it high quality? but you have to smith the weapon adn THEN re smith it and also axes and pick axes cant have this? And I wouldn't want to deal with durability or anything like it. (i.e. getting worse after uses) Anyway. Bump. ~ Clicky for the blog of No Cb Skils ~
