SirHartlar
~-A FTP's Guide to Cutting and Burning-~ Are you a member? Are you looking for and fast and easy way to make money whilst training woodcutting? Then this guide isn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t for you. This guide is not going to show you where to cut magic trees for l33t cash; this guide is here to help rising woodcutters and firemakers where to optimise their experience. In this guide I will be using this format: - Usually tells you the level range you should be within to optimise this area. - Duh, a description of the area - The good things about this area - The bad things about this area Without further ado, allow yourself to get comfortable and start absorbing the information. ----------------------------------- The Equipment 1 - 21 Woodcutting - I recommend using a bronze axe for it if you are doing it all in one go. It serves its purpose well until level 21, at which you can use a mithril axe. Only use iron/steel axes if you happen to pick one up or are able to get access to one if you are doing pieces of woodcutting here and there. 21 - 41 Woodcutting - The mithril axe is the only way to go here. It is the best axe to choose if you want to get the levels quickly and in one go; however if you stop at 31 and want to start again it may be worthwhile purchasing an adamant axe if you have the cash. 41 + Woodcutting - The rune axe is the only axe you should be using now. It is the best axe available to f2p'ers. The Tree Locations 1 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 25 Woodcutting The first place I recommend you start cutting and burning is in the dense forest behind Lumbridge castle. Here you will find an extremely large number of trees to cut, and some open areas to allow yourself to burn the logs you cut. You can stay here from 1 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 25 Woodcutting, although I actually moved onto the next area at 22 Woodcutting. Pro̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Lots of trees, nice open spaces for fire lines. Con̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Autoers might be using the trees to train up to yew level. -.- ----------------------------------- 25 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 40 Woodcutting The next stage in your journey are the oak trees found scattered across Asgarnia and Misthalin. I have experimented with various locations, and decided for me that this spot comes out on top. I never got competition and it served its purpose well. Pro̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Two oak trees; will spawn fast with 1k+ players on a world. Good burning lines. Con̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s None really, might get distracted by people walking past. ----------------------------------- 40 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 60+ Woodcutting Now you can move onto willows. Although you unlock them at level 30, I feel the experience doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t come in as quickly as oaks until after 40. This is a good place to train, with a fair few willow trees scattered around the pond. If you don't like it here; try the willows found in Rimmington. Pro̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Good burning lines and enough trees. Better than at Draynor. Con̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Autoers may decide to train here. Alternative locations include Rimmington, although burning lines there are more difficult to master. ----------------------------------- Yews Yews are an important part of the RuneScape economy. Yew logs are always in high demand. For this reason, autoer scum have decided to clog up our servers with macroers that are cutting down the trees for cash. I have scouted every single yew tree in free to play and, sadly, there wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t one that didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have a swarm of autoers chopping it down. Yews aren̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t very good for training until 70+, so I left them out the guide. If you decide to chase the yew tree, good luck. Autoer competition makes it very difficult these days. ----------------------------------- That is my guide. I hope this can help some aspiring cutters to burn their logs instead of banking them. I think these methods combine the two skills perfectly, as well gaining some awesome firemaking experience whilst cutting. Thanks To: Tip.it for access to maps. Mmm Syrup for input on axes. Kill Life and Unbeaten for the help on Rimmington willows.

Elessar3019
Very well researched, not a long guide, but then, it doesn't have to be. 10/10, very nice. why did you post the code for it? perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is anotherAMEN! Acero Frio
This guide is going to be useful for me once I get the elusive mining 99. I will move to wc and fm then....with your guide as assistance. :) Thanks for the great guide. (Just one thing- tips on which axes to use might be useful to put in.) Kill_Life
I used Iron Axe till 41 Woodcutting, worked good aswell, since it doens't take to much exp :-k And how about Rimmington Willows? : No banking possible though, but you can sell the logs in the store. But good start  "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"[Currently playing: K1ll L1f3]

soulegleon
Nice Guide 9/10 Also another good place to burn and cut is below the draynor bank (not the willows). there are oaks and normal trees and a pretty good burn line. I dont have a map of the area but its south of the draynor bank and south of the black knight yet north of the wizards tower. Thats where i trained FM and WC on my pure skiller. Also another Cut and Burn spot for willows is to the West of the wall in draynor and to the south-east of the bar where you start goblin diplomancy. Also those are just suggestions you dont even have to consider them.

DeadPolkaDots1
Awesome guide dood. It might just help me, because I'm thinking of playing again, but not regularly, and on FTP. It's just typical the minute I quit RS gets showered with amazing updates. -.- Anyways, thank you. :D Quit RS to play real games. :P Bye TIF, miss you.
