ThruItAll
I've always seen useless spammers in banks when your trying to buy stuff. This is quite annoying. Say like this: Player1: Selling Laws. Playerx: Playerx: Playerx: Playerx: Playerx: With 5 lines in chatbox, the player1 is knocked off straight away. As you can see, playerx is spamming the chatbox with a useless message. Solution[/b Or if you type so fast a countdown message from 30 will go down before you can start typing again. Has anyone experienced this and agree? danke Schon Sam!^^"Blood runs thicker, oh were thick as thieves you know"-Carl Barât
kelbri
What is flooding the chat window? Spamming/flooding the chat window is to fill the chat window with unnecessary text. This is also an offence and is disruptive and unfair on other players as it makes it more difficult for them to communicate and trade with each other This is included in Rule #1 from Jagex, and is a reportable offence. Many people will flame me and say that you shouldn't report it, but hey, it's against the rules, and yes, it is annoying too...
ThruItAll
Oh well there is a rule, but no-one hardly ever reports it. danke Schon Sam!^^"Blood runs thicker, oh were thick as thieves you know"-Carl Barât
kelbri
Oh well there is a rule, but no-one hardly ever reports it. I report it all the time. Especially when I'm fishing lobbies or sharks on Karamja. People spam there all the time.
Fedorca99
Or make it so you can't say just spaces.
ThruItAll
Or make it so you can't say just spaces. Then people will say short words like hi and lol. danke Schon Sam!^^"Blood runs thicker, oh were thick as thieves you know"-Carl Barât
Kiriyama
What about us who can type fast? Seems unfair on us. We are using an ability to can an advantage. Denizen of Darkness| PSN= sworddude198
ianer101
This isn't a problem, just report them or use the ignore list. "If you have nothing constructive to say, don't say anything at all."
The_Dragon_Reborn
A solution to this would be to make a bigger cahtbox, although you might have to make the space it takes up in the browser a bit bigger. ~~Let The Dragon ride again, on the winds of time~~I've always felt as if I'm the only person who can understand the concept of sarcasm on the internet. Pkmastachaos
What about us who can type fast? Seems unfair on us. We are using an ability to can an advantage. A good point. But unless your in a heavy trading area like world two you shouldn't find it necessary to fill up five lines of the chat box without someone else typing. I mean, we heard you the first time! :P Or make it so you can't say just spaces. Then people will say short words like hi and lol. Don't they do that already? I've experienced it, but its too much of a hassle and there will always be the "What if..." component. I say just report them, turn off public chat if they don't stop, or even more simply, add them to your ignore list.
The Observer
They do that in Habbo. I used to play it. If you spam, then you won't be able to type for 30 seconds.
soldier_side
sometimes if you do type too fast, it doesn`t send out your message. for example, if people want to spell out "you smell" using one line per letter. Half the time most of the letters don`t come up... it shows as: y u s m e l I type fairly fast and I don`t spam, but sometimes all of my words don`t come up because I type too fast. Especially if I`m ranting -_-. This could be -some- sort of spam filter.

Anyway, this would hurt the fast typers. For example if you are explaining something to someone, it wouldn't really work out for the fast typers now would it?
