Juhnie
Rock Band 3 seems awesome so far. Haven't played it too much but a decent song selection it seems, new UI is good too :).Only thing I'm not liking about it right now is how hard it is to find the freaking release date in Europe. Webstores say it's 28th of October, Wikipedia says it's 29th of October, I can't find the release date on the official site. Halp plz. ;_; Master of Attack ~ August 29th, 2010Proud to have served the awesome Tip.It Crew <

Juhnie
Is the new pro guitar out?The Fender Mustang is showing up for me on webstore (the one with buttons), no sign of Fender Squier yet. I think they said that they plan to release it some time after the game is out. Zilla
Does anyone know how much a pro Guitar cost? During the holidays I might buy myself the controller for it. I haven't looked much into the pricing for it so I personally have no clue.
DarkDude
£150 I believe, or something like that. Will probably get it at some point.

Zilla
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGX1rrwdiXc Apparently the Rock Band Pro Guitar can function just like a real guitar, so you play a song in game and if afterward you plug it into an amp and just play. Price seems really nice for that.
Diesel
I wonder what the learning curve is. For someone who plays real guitar, but very badly *raises hand* I don't want to only be able to play the first 4 songs in the game and then be stuck. Looks pretty sweet though. For the fast solos like Crazy Train, looking at the fret numbers as they're squeezed together is a little overwhelming. But I think pro mode in general is going to involve lots of time in practice mode, so memorization of those types of solos may be the best bet. Which on the other hand makes me think do I want it Practice mode is not really my piece of cake. I have barely touched RB2's Practice mode. :PSix more days until European release! *starts biting fingernails* I'm not gonna get to play it before the weekend though, since I'll be travelling 'till Sunday. :( Master of Attack ~ August 29th, 2010Proud to have served the awesome Tip.It Crew <
Donkeykong23
There's come other GH copy out there featuring a six string... I can't remember what it's called but it seemed exactly like the RB3 one.
Distracted
There's come other GH copy out there featuring a six string... I can't remember what it's called but it seemed exactly like the RB3 one. Powergig. To be honest, it doesn't look that good, and from the gameplay footage I've seen it's just regular GH gameplay but with the strings instead of buttons. I haven't heard anything about a pro mode there.
Juhnie
Well, apart from the fact that the site has been down a lot recently (it's still crashing every now and then) and that they failed at delivering the new instruments to Europe, I must say that I'm loving RB3 so far. Can't wait to get my hands on the Keyboard. Master of Attack ~ August 29th, 2010Proud to have served the awesome Tip.It Crew <
Juhnie
Finally got my Keys about a week ago. Shop was only stocking two Key sets for every console. :S I. Love. Them. Seriously, it's extremely challenging and extremely über-fun at the same time. I'm almost drived myself insane trying to hit the goal of getting 100 note streak on Sister Christian (just had to do it on Expert :D) and songs like Imagine, Du Hast and Rock Lobster are really fun to play. Definitely recommend everyone to get them if you can just get your hands on one. Anyone else have them yet? :3 Master of Attack ~ August 29th, 2010Proud to have served the awesome Tip.It Crew <
Alg
I was perfectly willing to sit this 'generation' of music games out. Then I saw B.B. King and Procol Harum in the DLC list. Are the recent dlc tracks compatible with Rock Band 2? Whiter Shade of Pale sounds like it would be really fun on keyboards either way. Donkeykong23
GH:WoR looked like fun to play when I watched it. Took them long enough to let us play two guitar parts. On a semi-relate note...
Juhnie
Ultimately bleeped off right now. Started surfing around the Rock Band site today and noticed that Sonata Arctica's "Flag in the Ground" is now available as downloadable content. I rush to the songs list to check that is this true, already planning on running to the Xbox and buying it when I see the magical 'RBN' word in there. Since I'm not in the handful of selected countries who can download RBN songs: 1) I will not be able to download it before Microsoft decides to add XNA (and therefore RBN) to Finland (AKA never) 2) Future Sonata Arctica songs to be added as DLC will most likely be authored through RBN so I can't download those either. <_< Master of Attack ~ August 29th, 2010Proud to have served the awesome Tip.It Crew <

No idea what the instruments are like, though. (I'm still using my Rock Band 1 kit, lol.) Diesel
I got Rock Band 3 for Christmas and I'm loving it so far except for a few things. 1) The tiering of the songs is a joke. Some songs are waaayy overtiered while others are laughably undertiered. 2) Too much New Wave music! Period. Other than that is was great fun. I love the new menus. It makes moving through the screens much easier. The new quick play menu is also great, as it shows how many stars you've gotten for each song as well as the difficulty you played - something that was lacking in Rock Band 2 if I recall correctly. I tried out drumming a bit today. Took me about 3 hours (yes really) to realize that the calibration that I did to get an achievement wasn't even needed on my television. It had me playing at ~130ms delay, but when I turned everything back to 0 I played perfectly. I also have a bum yellow cymbal - actually it's not the cymbal as I replaced it with a spare that I had, but something with the plug. On each of the cymbals that I've tried there's a huge dead spot right in the middle. I may have to fix that one myself with a cut and rewire job. We'll see though. Juhnie
1) The tiering of the songs is a joke. Some songs are waaayy overtiered while others are laughably undertiered.Yeah, know what you're talking 'bout there. Lasso, impossible on Vocals? Seriously? I got 100% on it while sightreading. I think the problem is that they have too few tiers and have to list all songs from 'takes skill' to 'will murder you' under the red devils. Roundabout and Antibodies are both devil tiered on Pro Keys; I can pass Antibodies easily but Roundabout simply makes my fingers fall off if I'm stupid enough to try it. :uhh: I disagree with the New Wave comment though, but that's just because I love the New Wave songs. :P Master of Attack ~ August 29th, 2010Proud to have served the awesome Tip.It Crew <
Diesel
I HATE New Wave. (except for In a Big Country. That song is catchy. ) Just bought a replacement connector cord for my yellow cymbal on ebay. We'll see if that's the final fix once it gets here. Juhnie
MadCatz surely produces quality hardware for Rock Band. My keyboard's highest C has been squeaking for a few weeks, and now something seems to have snapped inside the lowest C key - it produces double hits and wobbles around weirdly as if it has become loose. My local retailer has apparently no idea what to do with it (we've asked multiple times and they just tell that they'll contact to producers to ask for directions and call us, no calls yet...) and the MadCatz site is quite confusing and I got the understanding that their warranties are only available in North America. E-mail contact centres are only for US, UK, Germany and Spain, same for tech support telephone numbers (and I don't even want to imagine the cost of calling to Britain from here). FAQs are totally useless ("Why my OD doesn't deploy when I tilt the Keyboard controller?!?!?!" Seriously?) and the whole thing reminds me of when I was trying to replace my broken drum bass pedal - the site just kept sending me from a link to another link until I finally kept going in circles. I love it when these big companies keep [bleep]ing with their customers. Seems like I wasted my 80€ for nothing. -.- Master of Attack ~ August 29th, 2010Proud to have served the awesome Tip.It Crew <
