Totalec
I have about 210k, but don't want to spend it all. I don't know if I should train magic or range to be more successful in the wild. I have 50str, 32 attack, and was wondering what would compliment melee more.
Wesleyao
you will get alot more lvl's if u spend it on range but mage has better damage. it just depends on what you prefer. i have all my stats about the same(atk str def mage range) all of them are above 70 but mage is best by far. it is a big money hog tho(buying all the runes). range is ok and alot cheaper. Drops- GWD: Bandos - Solo Tassets, Solo Shard 1, Solo D spear, Chest on CS Armadyl - Hilt on CS Metal Drags - 5x Legs 3x Skirts Barrows -Lost countDK's - 1 Axe 1 Berserker Ring
Master_Smither
Mage would be better if you crafted ur runes and only bought the neccesary ones(deaths and chaos, and natures) You cn cast entangle with mage and then you can rnage but mage hits way harder. I suggest training both to about 60 or 70 Becasue u can snareor entangle and range them for awhile and then cast mage spells if they are a melee and a range fight if they r magers, Also melee attack if they are rangers. So get most skills even and u'll pwn@!! nicrune007
Range/mage goes well with melee as you can wear you full range/mage gear without penalty of melee bonus Hey Nicrune007 , Whats Your Username? 99 Ranged on 2/6/07 99 Hit Points on 9/5/08 99 Defense on 26/4/08 99 Attack on 14/2/09 99 Strength on 25/2/09 99 Slayer on 13/9/09\:D/
Doomster
If F2P melee pure, 40 range allows the best F2P 1 defence armour, green dragonhide vambraces & chaps, with iron (melee/range defence) or leather (range attack / mage defence) for the rest. 25 magic enables the first teleport. PS. For F2P range, don't spend - use the best F2P arrow droppers (iron & bronze), the Minotaurs, and you should end up with more arrows than you started with. I usually collect bronze as well, and then use them up whenever I have enough of them to make some kills.

tastywheat1
In your previous post you said you had 210k to spend on merchanting, which is it? Merchanting? Or Mage/Range. By the way, with that amount of money.......... Range Im back =]
0_w_n_ag_3
If you spend all your cash on arrows, go to Fire Giants. You can easily make a profit here. [When you're 99 range, you can buy 99 mage] Hope this helped.

hatebringer
i have to say mage, only because it is a great skill, but you may not get far with only 210k, so unless you want alot levels, choose mage, if not ranmge will gain more xp from the money 99 Fletching 99 Attack 99 Constitution 99 Cooking 99 StrengthGamertag: H8tebringer
bukka626
I would definately go mage, but that might be because I hate ranging. As to how it could compliment melee, I would train your mage up to lvl50 to use Iban blast. IT RULES! max hit of 25 damage and in my first 3 casts, 2 of them were over 20! However, to get up to that, the cheapest way is to make your own airs and buy some minds from the mini-game rogue trader, where they are 3gp ea. good luck bukka626 There are 10 types of people in this world - those who understand binary and those who don't.64% of teenagers are bad at math if you are one of the 48% who aren't copy this and paste it in your signature. kuhasa
Mage is one of the knowed "buyable skill", but that is not true If you are F2P both, Mage and Range, can be buyable also as can be free skill because you can rune ess mine and craft, and range you can colect from noobs rangers they arrows or even the monsters-drops The problems of range> you can lose arrows, making you lose some money (only if you bought) The problems of Mage>making runes can get boring, but its good that you have a full "storer room" of runes, being able to get exp faster from range The best of range>Its an easy skill to lvl, as you just need an good safespot, some food, and nothing else The best of Mage>Its the same as ranger, its better when you have a safespot with runes respawn, like the Lessers lair in Karamja volcano My stats Quited RuneScape-17 July 2007, Still fighting for f2p rights
newb4lyfe7
in f2p its range cuz mage u would get owned after about lvl 50 combat because pures hit 17+ with scimis, making ur fireblast useless... in p2p im guessing range or mage but ill give range th eedge cuz of the new bow that i hear can hit 40s :-k
