Though I think he needs to learn how to use the damn shotgun properly. (And we died like 5+ times on the last damn level, barely enough time for the first reaction command) Damned Nemisis. Level 4 SMG + Level 4 Shotgun Combo ftw. Easier to get ammo on the first level for them than the a Assualt Shotgun and SMG.
