Smash Brothers Melee (not brawl)

Featured Replies

For gamecube correct? Best Game Made!

Best character is Falco, with is fast hard smash attacks and high jumping,

along with amazing speed, hes the best candidate. His combo hits are pretty good, fast and effective. I have yet to see someone beat me in a fight, no items (was in a tournament ~40 people there).

Is there online for it? id sure love to play with people around the world.

Level 9 Computers have inhuman reflexes and only use brute force. Theres no strategy whatsoever. It's actually better to practice on Level 1 Computers despite their low challenge because they randomly DI (Directional Influence), which is the movement of the joystick to trigger a different direction of being hit.

I love Fox and Ice Climbers, myself. Fox is freaking fast, and can blaster spam REALLY well. The ice climbers have two people, and you can throw and smash at the same time. :P NEVER train on level 9s.

The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.

wait... why not train on lvl 9's again??? Im confused :-k

When you put the skill level to 9 the characters only use the most powerful moves without thinking. Sort of like when your JigglyPuff and you do the spinning move, but instead of hitting someone you fly off the edge.

The best training you can get is with real people. ::'

it is a great game, although in my opinion the attitude towards competitive play are the main reasons that go against it being one of the best ever. heck, it's why i stopped using gameFAQs, don't need somebody i don't know telling me the characters i use are garbage, or that i can't be good unless i play like everybody else...

-user of marth, roy, and pichu-

level 9's are stupid, try the hyrule castle stage with roy and charge for his B- attack. the enemy should walk right into it

i depends on your fighting styles.

Koing quickly = Bowser.

Surviving the longest = Kirby.

Balanced speed and power = Roy.

Speed and stealth = Marth.

Those are my personal favourites. I can beat any cpu characters with them-includes master and crazy hand.

They can pretty much work if you practice with them hard enougth.

1 last tip- only use pichu if you are using items.

Items actually make you use more skills than normal. they allow you to use startegies and choose which items to use. Pokeballs, bomb-ombs, hammer and bunny hoods work for me. they can give you a wider range of abilities. Use them for your advantage or disadvantage.

The last sentance I agree with, but levels 9's aren't that stupid. You just choose the wrong level 9 characters to go against. mario and ness are absolute idiots.

Mr Game and watch has the best capabilities for atraining partner. Roy and marth are good for hyrule castle course.

Roy pwns you all...hes semi fast, and strong...

Everybody knows that only noobs choose Roy :P

Nah only noobs choose Link

Anyway, I would think that training on level 9's would speed your reaction times up more?

I play as Luigi. I've got a fairly good strategy, which includes rolling around, dodging, and making use of his good jump.

;P I poon awwwlll.

I use that move alot. ;P Along with the fire uppercut thing, and his "taunt". Which is the best.

I find that Fox is also an excellent character to stay alive with, because he has amazing "reflexes", a good jump, and a powerful Up+B. You really can't go wrong with blaster spamming than a Up combo or two.

mm.png jmods ftw XD

I love this game! I'm awesome at it! ^_^

My best character by far is Falco. He's an awesome fighter with a good amount of power and nice high jumps. You just have to watch out and use more strategy when fighting a long range fighter.

My second best character is Marth. And in order to play Marth well, you have to get your timing down. He's fast on his feet, but when it comes to attacking, he can be a bit slow. Also, learn to take advantage of his shield breaker, and his counter attacks. Keep your enemy at range with Marth and you should do quite well. If they get inside to close range, you're in trouble. :P

My best Character is Samus. She's fast..and you can make good use of her up+b (Screw Attack). What I like to do is se her B attack (Charge beam)...once it get's fully charged, it kind of 'holds back'..as you can tell by the blinky thing in front of your cannon. I've tricked a great many people by just jumping behind them, using screw attack, use the grab, throwing them forward..then launching the beam when they get back up :P

Pink Luigi is my signature character

Ok well collecting the thoughts in this thread my character has become Samus as I find her agile and with strong weaponry, only problem is she floats like a brick but I will have to overcome that!

Now I must continually practice so I can decapitate Ness

Any advice for specifically killing Ness?

Fox pwns nuff said

Wongton is better than me in anyway~~
