A New Beggining?

[hide=Originally]So today I decided I want 99 Prayer, and was going to work up the 63.44M I needed for it. So I went to W2 to buy 10k Dragon Bones to start off. I get there, sitting there for a good 5 - 10 minutes before I finally see a seller of 6.4K bones, and for only 1.2K each, so I'm like "Mmmkay sweet". I trade him buy them, and I'm like alright now to get 4K more. Someone trades me 1.2K bones, I put up 1.56M (I pay 1.3K each), I get to second screen, accept, and I'm like "Only a few more till I can start". That's when I notice it, I look down at my inventory and see this:

 

 

 

 

 

 

I was devastated... you have no idea. I tried reporting him, but it said I could only do it with those I had traded with recently... I was too late.

 

 

 

I know it's my own fault for not check the second screen, but... this just pisses me off. I thought scammers were sized down to F2P'ers that scammed in W1, but I got proven wrong. Recently I had thoughts about quitting, with summer here, and Runescape getting very boring. Now, this just makes it all the more worse, and this is my goodbye for a long time, or maybe for good.

I've recently decided, while it may sound dumb to you guys, I want to start over. Eric570 isn't a terrible account, but for some reason I just don't like him. So starting today I am retiring Eric570, and am going to start a new beggining on my pure, Shawn Range. Now I am not going to keep him a pure anymore, more or less he will eventually evolve into a main. This time around I want to focus on things I never did with Eric, such as skilling. I think eventually I will post a blog, but that will be sometime later.

 

 

 

Again, thank you guys for reading this, and thanks for all the support you have given. In a way, you guys have encouraged me to stay :).

I had this twice a few days ago, luckily I checked the second screen. I feel for you dude :(

 

 

 

I managed to report both of mine as I wrote their names down while they were trading me (I always note the names just in case cos I want to kill people who do this. It's subhuman imo).

It is hard to tell in alot of cases...especially when your getting excited about 99 pray...

I sold almost everything and bought a Santa (meh prolly a stupid choice). Friend helped me move everything I could to my pure ranger, if I ever decided to play again, it will be on him. Feel free to add him and gimme a HYT if I ever go on (Shawn Range).

I got scammed the exact same way with 1600 d bones for 70 prayer, instead I got 1600 big bones :wall:

I want 99 Prayer too and I sometimes check out the D Bone trading scene in W2. Whenever I see someone selling bones cheaply I think he's probably scamming but I just have to trade him in case he's a legit cheap seller :wink:. In that state of mind, I can detect big bones over dragon bones on the first trade screen.

here thats the problem.you cant tell unless you press youre nose upto the screen and usually thay put all their d bones up and take them away making you think tehyre gonna put the actual amount.you put cash up they switch and you get scammed millions.

Yah, no offense, but only newbs (not noobs) don't check the second trade screen. You're just asking to be scammed if you don't.
